Is there a correct order of the Ten Commandments? Certainly the first group regarding the one true God, forbidding idolatry, taking God's name in vain, and rembering the Sabbath seem to be consistent.
But what about the rest? While the order in the Septuagint differs from the Hebrew text, why does Jesus recite them in a different order. Or more precisely why do the Gospel writers record them in a different order. Even Paul, trained as a Pharisee, does not follow the Hebrew or the Septuagint. Is the order important?
