Jeremiah

1 The word that Jeremiah the prophet spoke to Baruch the son of Neriah, when he had written these words in a book at the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, saying,

2 Thus says Yahweh, Elohim of Israēl, to you, Oh Baruch;

3 You did say, Woe is me now! for Yahweh has added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest.

4 Thus you shall say to him, Yahweh says thus; Behold, what I have built will I break down, and what I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land.

4 εἰπὸν αὐτῷ οὕτως εἶπεν κύριος ἰδοὺ οὓς ἐγὼ ᾠκοδόμησα, ἐγὼ καθαιρῶ, καὶ οὓς ἐγὼ ἐφύτευσα, ἐγὼ ἐκτίλλω·	4 εἰπὸν αὐτῷ· οὕτως εἶπε Κύριος· ἰδοὺ οὓς ἐγὼ ᾠκοδόμησα, ἐγὼ καθαιρῶ, καὶ οὓς ἐγὼ ἐφύτευσα, ἐγὼ ἐκτίλλω.

5 And seek you great things for yourself? Seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil on all flesh, says Yahweh; but your life will I give to you for a prey in all places to which you go.

5 καὶ σὺ ζητεῖς σεαυτῷ μεγάλα; μὴ ζητήσῃς, ὅτι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω κακὰ ἐπὶ πᾶσαν σάρκα, λέγει κύριος, καὶ δώσω τὴν ψυχήν σου εἰς εὕρεμα ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ, οὗ ἐὰν βαδίσῃς ἐκεῖ.	5 καὶ σὺ ζητήσεις σεαυτῷ μεγάλα; μὴ ζητήσῃς, ὅτι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω κακὰ ἐπὶ πᾶσαν σάρκα, λέγει Κύριος. καὶ δώσω τὴν ψυχήν σου εἰς εὕρημα ἐν παντὶ τόπῳ, οὗ ἐὰν βαδίσῃς ἐκεῖ.
5 And will you seek great things for yourself?
