To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David.
For the end, a Psalm of David. | For the end, a Psalm of David. |
1 How long will you forget me, Oh Yahweh? For ever? How long will you hide your face from me?
1
Ἕως
πότε
μου,
εἰς

1 How long, Oh Lord, will you forget me — for ever? How long will you turn your face from me? | 1 How long, Oh Lord, will you forget me — for ever? How long will you turn your face from me? |
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? How long shall my enemy be exalted over me?
2
ἕως
ἐν
μου,
ἐν
μου

2 Until when shall I make plans in my soul, pains in my heart daily? how long shall my enemy be exalted over me? | 2 Until when shall I make plans in my soul, pains in my heart daily? how long shall my enemy be exalted over me? |
3 Consider and hear me, Oh Yahweh my Elohim; lighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death;
3 Look on, listen to me, Oh Lord my God; enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep into death; | 3 Look on, listen to me, Oh Lord my God; enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep into death; |
4 Lest my enemy say, I have prevailed against him; and those who trouble me rejoice when I am moved.
4
ὁ

4
lest my enemy says, I have prevailed against him. While oppressing me, they rejoice if I should be shaken. |
4
lest my enemy says, I have prevailed against him. While oppressing me, they rejoice if I should be shaken. |
5 But I have trusted in your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation.
5 But I had confidence in your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. | 5 But I had confidence in your mercy; my heart shall rejoice in your salvation. |
6 I will sing to Yahweh, because he has dealt bountifully with me.
6 I will sing to the Lord who benefited me, and I will sing psalms to the name of the Lord most high. | 6 I will sing to the Lord who benefited me, and I will sing psalms to the name of the Lord most high. |
