1 A Song of degrees.
Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israēl now say;

שִׁיר הַמַּעֲלֹות
רַבַּת צְרָרוּנִי מִנְּעוּרַי יֹאמַר ־ נָא יִשְׂרָאֵל׃

1 [ᾨδὴ τῶν ἀναβαθμῶν.] Πλεονάκις ἐπολέμησάν με ἐκ νεότητός μου, εἰπάτω δὴ Ἰσραήλ,	1 ᾨδὴ τῶν ἀναβαθμῶν. — πλεονάκις ἐπολέμησάν με ἐκ νεότητός μου, εἰπάτω δὴ Ἰσραήλ·

רַבַּת צְרָרוּנִי מִנְּעוּרָי גַּם לֹא ־ יָכְלוּ לִי׃

3 The plowers plowed on my back; they made long their furrows.

עַל ־ גַּבִּי חָרְשׁוּ חֹרְשִׁים הֶאֱרִיכוּ לְמַעֲנֹותָם

3 ἐπὶ τοῦ νώτου μου ἐτέκταινον οἱ ἁμαρτωλοί, ἐμάκρυναν τὴν ἀνομίαν αὐτῶν·	3 ἐπὶ τὸν νῶτόν μου ἐτέκταινον οἱ ἁμαρτωλοί, ἐμάκρυναν τὴν ἀνομίαν αὐτῶν.

4 Yahweh is righteous; he has cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

יְהוָה צַדִּיק קִצֵּץ עֲבֹות רְשָׁעִים׃

5 Let them all be confounded and turned back who hate Zion.

יֵבֹשׁוּ וְיִסֹּגוּ אָחֹור כֹּל שֹׂנְאֵי צִיֹּון׃

5 Αἰσχυνθήτωσαν καὶ ἀποστραφήτωσαν εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω πάντες οἱ μισοῦντες Σιών.	5 αἰσχυνθήτωσαν καὶ ἀποστραφήτωσαν εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω πάντες οἱ μισοῦντες Σιών.

6 Let them be as the grass on the housetops, which withers before it grows up;

יִהְיוּ כַּחֲצִיר גַּגֹּות שֶׁקַּדְמַת שָׁלַף יָבֵשׁ׃

6 γενηθήτωσαν ὡς χόρτος δωμάτων, ὃς πρὸ τοῦ ἐκσπασθῆναι ἐξηράνθη·	6 γενηθήτωσαν ὡσεὶ χόρτος δωμάτων, ὃς πρὸ τοῦ ἐκσπασθῆναι ἐξηράνθη·

7 with which the mower fills not his hand; nor he who binds sheaves his bosom.

שֶׁלֹּא מִלֵּא כַפֹּו קֹוצֵר וְחִצְנֹו מְעַמֵּר׃

7 οὗ οὐκ ἐπλήρωσεν τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ὁ θερίζων καὶ τὸν κόλπον αὐτοῦ ὁ τὰ δράγματα συλλέγων,	7 οὗ οὐκ ἐπλήρωσε τὴν χεῖρα αὐτοῦ ὁ θερίζων καὶ τὸν κόλπον αὐτοῦ ὁ τὰ δράγματα συλλέγων,

וְלֹא אָמְרוּ הָעֹבְרִים בִּרְכַּת ־ יְהוָה אֲלֵיכֶם בֵּרַכְנוּ אֶתְכֶם בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה׃

8 καὶ οὐκ εἶπαν οἱ παράγοντες, εὐλογία κυρίου ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς εὐλογήκαμεν ὑμᾶς ἐν ὀνόματι κυρίου.	8 καὶ οὐκ εἶπαν οἱ παράγοντες· εὐλογία Κυρίου ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς, εὐλογήκαμεν ὑμᾶς ἐν ὀνόματι Κυρίου.
