Unto the end, among psalms, a song ascribed to David. Unto the end, among psalms, a song ascribed to David.

1 Hear me when I call, Oh my righteousness God: you have enlarged me when I was in distress; have mercy on me, and hear my prayer.

1 When I call, my righteous God heard me; in trouble, you enlarged me; have compassion on me and listen to my prayer. 1 When I call, my righteous God heard me; in trouble, you enlarged me; have compassion on me and listen to my prayer.

2 Oh you sons of men, how long will you turn my glory into shame? How long will you love vanity, and seek after falsehood? Selah.

2 Υἱοὶ ἀνθρώπων ἕως πότε βαρυκάρδιοι;
ἵνα τί ἀγαπᾶτε ματαιότητα, καὶ ζητεῖτε ψεῦδος;
2 υἱοὶ ἀνθρώπων, ἕως πότε βαρυκάρδιοι;
ἱνατί ἀγαπᾶτε ματαιότητα καὶ ζητεῖτε ψεῦδος;
2 Oh you sons of men, how long will you be heavy-hearted? Why do you love vanity, and seek falsehood?

3 But know that Yahweh has set apart him who is godly for himself: Yahweh will hear when I call to him.

3 Know that the Lord has done amazing for his devoted one; the Lord will hear me when I cry to him. 3 Know that the Lord has done amazing for his devoted one; the Lord will hear me when I cry to him.

4 Stand in awe, and sin not: commune with your own heart on your bed, and be still. Selah.

4 Be angry but don’t sin; speak in your hearts and be stunned on your beds.

5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and put your trust in Yahweh.

5 Sacrifice the sacrifice of righteousness, and trust in the Lord. 5 Sacrifice the sacrifice of righteousness, and trust in the Lord.

6 There be many who say, Who will show us any good? Yahweh, lift up the light of your countenance on us.

6 Πολλοὶ λέγουσιν, τίς δείξει ἡμῖν τὰ ἀγαθά;
6 πολλοὶ λέγουσι· τίς δείξει ἡμῖν τὰ ἀγαθά;
6 Many keep saying,
Who will show us good things?
The light of your face, Oh Lord, has been manifested on us.

The light of your face, Oh Lord, has been manifested on us.

7 You have put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their grain and their wine increased.

7 You have put gladness into my heart: they have been satisfied with the fruit of their corn and wine and oil. 7 You have put gladness into my heart: they have been satisfied with the fruit of their corn and wine and oil.

8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep; for you, Yahweh, only make me dwell in safety.

8 I will both lie down in peace and sleep; for you, Lord, only have caused me to dwell securely. 8 I will both lie down in peace and sleep; for you, Lord, only have caused me to dwell securely.
