1 [MT 17:16] And Yahweh spoke to Moses, saying,

2 [MT 17:17] “Speak to the sons of Israēl, and take from everyone of them a rod according to the house of their fathers, from all their leaders according to the house of their fathers twelve rods; write every man’s name on his rod.

4 [MT 17:19] And you shall place them in the tent of the congregation before the testimony, where I will meet with you.

5 [MT 17:20] And it shall be, that the man’s rod, whom I shall choose, shall bloom; and I will make to cease from me the murmurings of the sons of Israēl, by which they murmur against you.”

5 καὶ ἔσται ὁ ἄνθρωπος, ὃν ἐὰν ἐκλέξωμαι αὐτόν, ἡ ῥάβδος αὐτοῦ ἐκβλαστήσει· καὶ περιελῶ ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ τὸν γογγυσμὸν τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ, ἃ αὐτοὶ γογγύζουσιν ἐφ’ ὑμῖν.	5 καὶ ἔσται ὁ ἄνθρωπος, ὃν ἄν ἐκλέξωμαι αὐτόν, ἡ ῥάβδος αὐτοῦ ἐκβλαστήσει· καὶ περιελῶ ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ τὸν γογγυσμὸν υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ, ἃ αὐτοὶ γογγύζουσιν ἐφ’ ὑμῖν.

6 [MT 17:21] And Moses spoke to the sons of Israēl, and everyone of their princes gave him a rod apiece, for each prince one, according to their fathers’ houses, even twelve rods; and the rod of Aaron was among their rods.

7 [MT 17:22] And Moses laid up the rods before Yahweh in the tent of witness.

8 [MT 17:23] And it happened, that on the next day Moses went into the tent of witness; and, behold, the rod of Aaron for the house of Levi was budded, and brought forth buds, and bloomed blossoms, and yielded almonds.

8 καὶ ἐγένετο τῇ ἐπαύριον καὶ εἰσῆλθεν Μωυσῆς καὶ Ἀαρὼν εἰς τὴν σκηνὴν τοῦ μαρτυρίου, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐβλάστησεν ἡ ῥάβδος Ἀαρὼν εἰς οἶκον Λευὶ καὶ ἐξήνεγκεν βλαστὸν καὶ ἐξήνθησεν ἄνθη καὶ ἐβλάστησεν κάρυα.	8 καὶ ἐγένετο τῇ ἐπαύριον καὶ εἰσῆλθε Μωυσῆς καὶ Ἀαρὼν ἐν τῇ σκηνῇ τοῦ μαρτυρίου, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐβλάστησεν ἡ ῥάβδος Ἀαρὼν εἰς οἶκον Λευὶ καὶ ἐξήνεγκε βλαστὸν καὶ ἐξήνθησεν ἄνθη καὶ ἐβλάστησε κάρυα.

9 [MT 17:24] And Moses brought out all the rods from before Yahweh to all the sons of Israēl; and they looked, and every man took his rod.

9 καὶ ἐξήνεγκεν Μωυσῆς πάσας τὰς ῥάβδους ἀπὸ προσώπου κυρίου πρὸς πάντας υἱοὺς Ἰσραήλ, καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἔλαβον ἕκαστος τὴν ῥάβδον αὐτοῦ.	9 καὶ ἐξήνεγκε Μωυσῆς πάσας τὰς ῥάβδους ἀπὸ προσώπου Κυρίου πρὸς πάντας υἱοὺς Ἰσραήλ, καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἔλαβον ἕκαστος τὴν ῥάβδον αὐτοῦ.

10 [MT 17:25] And Yahweh said to Moses, “Bring Aaron’s rod again before the testimony, to be kept for a token against the rebels; and you shall immediately take away their murmurings from me, so that they don’t die.”

10 Καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν Ἀπόθες τὴν ῥάβδον Ἀαρὼν ἐνώπιον τῶν μαρτυρίων εἰς διατήρησιν σημεῖον τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ἀνηκόων, καὶ παυσάσθω ὁ γογγυσμὸς αὐτῶν ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀποθάνωσιν.	10 καὶ εἶπε Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν· ἀπόθες τὴν ῥάβδον Ἀαρὼν ἐνώπιον τῶν μαρτυρίων εἰς διατήρησιν, σημεῖον τοῖς υἱοῖς τῶν ἀνηκόων, καὶ παυσάσθω ὁ γογγυσμὸς αὐτῶν ἀπ’ ἐμοῦ, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀποθάνωσι.
10 And the Lord said to Moses, “Deposit the rod of Aarōn before the witnesses to be kept as a sign for the sons of the disobedient; and let their grumbling cease from me, and they shall not die.”	10 And the Lord said to Moses, “Deposit the rod of Aarōn before the witnesses to be kept as a sign for the sons of the disobedient; and let their grumbling cease from me, and they shall not die.”

11 [MT 17:26] And Moses did so; as Yahweh commanded him, so did he.

12 [MT 17:27] And the sons of Israēl spoke to Moses, saying, “Behold, we die, we perish, we all perish.

13 [MT 17:28] Whoever comes anywhere near to the tent of Yahweh shall die; shall we be consumed with dying?”

13 πᾶς ὁ ἁπτόμενος τῆς σκηνῆς κυρίου ἀποθνῄσκει· ἕως εἰς τέλος ἀποθάνωμεν;	13 πᾶς ὁ ἁπτόμενος τῆς σκηνῆς Κυρίου ἀποθνήσκει· ἕως εἰς τέλος ἀποθάνωμεν;
