Zechariah

1 Then I turned, and lifted up my eyes, and looked, and behold a flying scroll.

1 Καὶ ἐπέστρεψα καὶ ἦρα τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ δρέπανον πετόμενον.	1 Καὶ ἐπέστρεψα, καὶ ᾖρα τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ δρέπανον πετόμενον.
1 And I turned, and lifted up my eyes, and saw and look! a flying sickle.	1 And I turned, and lifted up my eyes, and saw and look! a flying sickle.

2 And he said to me, What see you? And I answered, I see a flying scroll; the length of it is 20 cubits, and the breadth of it ten cubits.

2 καὶ εἶπεν πρός με, τί σὺ βλέπεις; καὶ εἶπα, ἐγὼ ὁρῶ δρέπανον πετόμενον μῆκος πήχεων εἴκοσι καὶ πλάτος πήχεων δέκα.	2 καὶ εἶπε πρός με· τί σὺ βλέπεις; καὶ εἶπα ἐγώ· ὁρῶ δρέπανον πετόμενον μήκους πήχεων εἴκοσι καὶ πλάτους πήχεων δέκα.
2 And he said to me, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see a flying sickle, 20 cubits long, and 10 cubits wide.”	2 And he said to me, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see a flying sickle, 20 cubits long, and 10 cubits wide.”

3 Then said he to me, This is the curse that goes forth over the face of the whole earth; for every one who steals shall be cut off as on this side according to it; and every one who swears shall be cut off as on that side according to it.

3 καὶ εἶπεν πρός με, Αὕτη ἡ ἀρὰ ἡ ἐκπορευομένη ἐπὶ πρόσωπον πάσης τῆς γῆς, διότι πᾶς ὁ κλέπτης ἐκ τούτου ἕως θανάτου ἐκδικηθήσεται, καὶ πᾶς ὁ ἐπίορκος ἐκ τούτου ἕως θανάτου ἐκδικηθήσεται·	3 καὶ εἶπε πρός με· αὕτη ἡ ἀρὰ ἡ ἐκπορευομένη ἐπὶ πρόσωπον πάσης τῆς γῆς, διότι πᾶς ὁ κλέπτης ἐκ τούτου ἕως θανάτου ἐκδικηθήσεται, καὶ πᾶς ὁ ἐπίορκος ἐκ τούτου ἐκδικηθήσεται·
3 And he said to me, “This is the curse that goes out over the face of the whole land; because every thief shall be punished to death from this, and everyone who swears falsely shall be punished to death from this.	3 And he said to me, “This is the curse that goes out over the face of the whole land; because every thief shall be punished to death from this, and everyone who swears falsely shall be punished from this.

4 I will bring it forth, says Yahweh of hosts, and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him who swears falsely by my name; and it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall consume it with the timber of it and the stones of it.

4 καὶ ἐξοίσω αὐτό, λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ, καὶ εἰσελεύσεται εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ κλέπτου καὶ εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ ὀμνύοντος τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἐπὶ ψεύδει καὶ καταλύσει ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ συντελέσει αὐτὸν καὶ τὰ ξύλα αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς λίθους αὐτοῦ.	4 καὶ ἐξοίσω αὐτό, λέγει Κύριος παντοκράτωρ, καὶ εἰσελεύσεται εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ κλέπτου καὶ εἰς τὸν οἶκον τοῦ ὀμνύοντος τῷ ὀνόματί μου ἐπὶ ψεύδει καὶ καταλύσει ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ οἴκου αὐτοῦ καὶ συντελέσει αὐτὸν καὶ τὰ ξύλα αὐτοῦ καὶ τοὺς λίθους αὐτοῦ.

5 Then the angel who talked with me went forth, and said to me, Lift up now your eyes, and see what is this that goes forth.

6 And I said, What is it? And he said, This is an ephah that goes forth. He said moreover, This is their resemblance through all the earth.

6 καὶ εἶπα, τί ἐστιν; καὶ εἶπεν, τοῦτο τὸ μέτρον τὸ ἐκπορευόμενον. καὶ εἶπεν, αὕτη ἡ ἀδικία αὐτῶν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ.	6 καὶ εἶπα· τί ἔστι; καὶ εἶπε· τοῦτο τὸ μέτρον τὸ ἐκπορευόμενον. καὶ εἶπε· αὕτη ἡ ἀδικία αὐτῶν ἐν πάσῃ τῇ γῇ.
6 And I said, “What is it?” And he said, “This is the measure that goes out.” And he said, “This is their iniquity in all the land.”	6 And I said, “What is it?” And he said, “This is the measure that goes out.” And he said, “This is their iniquity in all the land.”

7 And, behold, there was lifted up a talent of lead; and this is a woman who sits in the midst of the ephah.

8 And he said, This is wickedness. And he cast it into the midst of the ephah; and he cast the weight of lead on the mouth of it.

8 καὶ εἶπεν, αὕτη ἐστὶν ἡ ἀνομία· καὶ ἔρριψεν αὐτὴν ἐν μέσῳ τοῦ μέτρου καὶ ἔρριψεν τὸν λίθον τοῦ μολίβου εἰς τὸ στόμα αὐτῆς.	8 καὶ εἶπε· αὕτη ἐστὶν ἡ ἀνομία· καὶ ἔρριψεν αὐτὴν εἰς μέσον τοῦ μέτρου καὶ ἔρριψε τὸν λίθον τοῦ μολίβου εἰς τὸ στόμα αὐτῆς.

9 Then lifted I up my eyes, and looked, and, behold, there came out two women, and the wind was in their wings; for they had wings like the wings of a stork; and they lifted up the ephah between the earth and the heaven.

9 καὶ ἦρα τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ δύο γυναῖκες ἐκπορευόμεναι, καὶ πνεῦμα ἐν ταῖς πτέρυξιν αὐτῶν, καὶ αὗται εἶχον πτέρυγας ὡς πτέρυγας ἔποπος· καὶ ἀνέλαβον τὸ μέτρον ἀνὰ μέσον τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ οὐρανοῦ.	9 καὶ ᾖρα τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς μου καὶ εἶδον καὶ ἰδοὺ δύο γυναῖκες ἐκπορευόμεναι, καὶ πνεῦμα ἐν ταῖς πτέρυξιν αὐτῶν, καὶ αὗται εἶχον πτέρυγας ὡς πτέρυγας ἔποπος· καὶ ἀνέλαβον τὸ μέτρον ἀναμέσον τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀναμέσον τοῦ οὐρανοῦ.

10 Then said I to the angel who talked with me, Where do these bear the ephah?

11 And he said to me, To build it a house in the land of Shinar; and it shall be established, and set there on its own base.

11 καὶ εἶπεν πρός με, οἰκοδομῆσαι αὐτῷ οἰκίαν ἐν γῇ Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἑτοιμάσαι, καὶ θήσουσιν αὐτὸ ἐκεῖ ἐπὶ τὴν ἑτοιμασίαν αὐτοῦ.	11 καὶ εἶπε πρός με· οἰκοδομῆσαι αὐτῷ οἰκίαν ἐν γῇ Βαβυλῶνος καὶ ἑτοιμάσαι, καὶ θήσουσιν αὐτὸ ἐκεῖ ἐπὶ τὴν ἑτοιμασίαν αὐτοῦ.
11 And he said to me, “To build a house for it in the land of Babylon, and to prepare and set it there on its prepared place.”	11 And he said to me, “To build a house for it in the land of Babylon, and to prepare and set it there on its prepared place.”
