Zechariah

1 And the angel who talked with me came again, and waked me, as a man that is wakened out of his sleep,

1 Καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν ὁ ἄγγελος ὁ λαλῶν ἐν ἐμοὶ καὶ ἐξήγειρέν με ὃν τρόπον ὅταν ἐξεγερθῇ ἄνθρωπος ἐξ ὕπνου αὐτοῦ	1 Καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν ὁ ἄγγελος ὁ λαλῶν ἐν ἐμοὶ καὶ ἐξήγειρέ με ὃν τρόπον ὅταν ἐξεγερθῇ ἄνθρωπος ἐξ ὕπνου αὐτοῦ

2 And said to me, What do you see? And I said, I have looked, and behold a candlestick all of gold, with a bowl on the top of it, and its seven lamps on it, and seven pipes to the seven lamps, which are on the top of it.

2 Καὶ εἶπεν πρός με, τί σύ βλέπεις; καὶ εἶπα, ἑώρακα καὶ ἰδοὺ λυχνία χρυσῆ ὅλη, καὶ τὸ λαμπάδιον ἐπάνω αὐτῆς, καὶ ἑπτὰ λύχνοι ἐπάνω αὐτῆς καὶ ἑπτὰ ἐπαρυστρίδες τοῖς λύχνοις τοῖς ἐπάνω αὐτῆς·	2 καὶ εἶπε πρός με· τί σὺ βλέπεις; καὶ εἶπα· ἑώρακα καὶ ἰδοὺ λυχνία χρυσῆ ὅλη, καὶ τὸ λαμπάδιον ἐπάνω αὐτῆς, καὶ ἑπτὰ λύχνοι ἐπάνω αὐτῆς, καὶ ἑπτὰ ἐπαρυστρίδες τοῖς λύχνοις τοῖς ἐπάνω αὐτῆς·
2 And he said to me, “What do you see?” And I said, “I have seen, and look! a lampstand all of gold, and the candlestick above it, and seven lamps above it, and seven oil dispensers for the lamps above it:”	2 And he said to me, “What do you see? 3 And two olive trees by it, one on the right side of the bowl, and the other on the left side of it.

3 καὶ δύο ἐλαῖαι ἐπάνω αὐτῆς, μία ἐκ δεξιῶν τοῦ λαμπαδίου καὶ μία ἐξ εὐωνύμων.	3 καὶ δύο ἐλαῖαι ἐπάνω αὐτῆς, μία ἐκ δεξιῶν τοῦ λαμπαδίου αὐτῆς καὶ μία ἐξ εὐωνύμων.

4 So I answered and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, What are these, my lord?

4 καὶ ἐπηρώτησα καὶ εἶπον πρὸς τὸν ἄγγελον τὸν λαλοῦντα ἐν ἐμοὶ λέγων, τί ἐστιν ταῦτα, κύριε;	4 καὶ ἐπηρώτησα καὶ εἶπα πρὸς τὸν ἄγγελον τὸν λαλοῦντα ἐν ἐμοὶ λέγων· τί ἔστι ταῦτα, κύριε;
4 And I inquired, and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, “What are these things, sir?”	4 And I inquired, and spoke to the angel who talked with me, saying, “What are these things, sir?”

5 Then the angel who talked with me answered and said to me, Do you not know what these are? And I said, No, my lord.

6 Then he answered and spoke to me, saying, This is the word of Yahweh to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says Yahweh of hosts.

6 καὶ ἀπεκρίθη καὶ εἶπεν πρός με λέγων, οὗτος ὁ λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Ζοροβάβελ λέγων, Οὐκ ἐν δυνάμει μεγάλῃ οὐδὲ ἐν ἰσχύϊ ἀλλ’ ἢ ἐν πνεύματί μου, λέγει κύριος παντοκράτωρ.	6 καὶ ἀπεκρίθη καὶ εἶπε πρός με λέγων· οὗτος ὁ λόγος Κυρίου πρὸς Ζοροβάβελ λέγων· οὐκ ἐν δυνάμει μεγάλῃ οὐδὲ ἐν ἰσχύϊ, ἀλλ’ ἢ ἐν πνεύματί μου, λέγει Κύριος παντοκράτωρ.
6 And he answered and spoke to me, saying, “This is the word of the Lord to Zorobabel, saying, Not by mighty power, nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty.	6 And he answered and spoke to me, saying, “This is the word of the Lord to Zorobabel, saying, Not by mighty power, nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord Almighty.

7 Who are you, Oh great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain; and he shall bring forth the headstone of it with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace to it.

7 τίς εἶ σύ, τὸ ὄρος τὸ μέγα, πρὸ προσώπου Ζοροβάβελ τοῦ κατορθῶσαι; καὶ ἐξοίσω τὸν λίθον τῆς κληρονομίας ἰσότητα χάριτος χάριτα αὐτῆς.	7 τίς εἶ σύ, τό ὄρος τὸ μέγα, τὸ πρὸ προσώπου Ζαροβάβελ τοῦ κατορθῶσαι; καὶ ἐξοίσω τὸν λίθον τῆς κληρονομίας ἰσότητα χάριτος χάριτα αὐτῆς.

8 Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

9 The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house; his hands shall also finish it; and you shall know that Yahweh of hosts has sent me to you.

9 αἱ χεῖρες Ζοροβάβελ ἐθεμελίωσαν τὸν οἶκον τοῦτον, καὶ αἱ χεῖρες αὐτοῦ ἐπιτελέσουσιν αὐτόν, καὶ ἐπιγνώσῃ διότι κύριος παντοκράτωρ ἐξαπέσταλκέν με πρὸς σέ.	9 αἱ χεῖρες Ζοροβάβελ ἐθεμελίωσαν τὸν οἶκον τοῦτον, καὶ αἱ χεῖρες αὐτοῦ ἐπιτελέσουσιν αὐτόν, καὶ ἐπιγνώσῃ, διότι Κύριος παντοκράτωρ ἐξαπέσταλκέ με πρός σε.

10 For who has despised the day of small things? For they shall rejoice, and shall see the plummet in the hand of Zerubbabel with those seven; they are the eyes of Yahweh, which run to and fro through the whole earth.

10 διότι τίς ἐξουδένωσεν εἰς ἡμέρας μικράς; καὶ χαροῦνται καὶ ὄψονται τὸν λίθον τὸν κασσιτέρινον ἐν χειρὶ Ζοροβάβελ. ἑπτὰ οὗτοι ὀφθαλμοὶ κυρίου εἰσὶν οἱ ἐπιβλέποντες ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν.	10 διότι τίς ἐξουδένωσεν εἰς ἡμέρας μικράς; καὶ χαροῦνται καὶ ὄψονται τὸν λίθον τὸν κασσιτέρινον ἐν χειρὶ Ζοροβάβελ. ἑπτὰ οὗτοι ὀφθαλμοὶ Κυρίου εἰσὶν οἱ ἐπιβλέποντες ἐπὶ πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν.
10 Because who has despised the small days? And they shall rejoice, and shall see the tin stone in the hand of Zorobabel. 11 Then answered I, and said to him, What are these two olive trees on the right side of the candlestick and on the left side of it?

11 Καὶ ἀπεκρίθην καὶ εἶπα πρὸς αὐτόν, τί αἱ δύο ἐλαῖαι αὗται αἱ ἐκ δεξιῶν τῆς λυχνίας καὶ ἐξ εὐωνύμων;	11 καὶ ἀπεκρίθην καὶ εἶπα πρὸς αὐτόν· τί αἱ δύο ἐλαῖαι αὗται, αἱ ἐκ δεξιῶν τῆς λυχνίας καὶ ἐξ εὐωνύμων;
11 And I answered, and said to him, “What are these two olive trees, which are on the right of the lampstand and on the left?”	11 And I answered, and said to him, “What are these two olive trees, which are on the right of the lampstand and on the left?”

12 And I answered again, and said to him, What are these two olive branches which through the two golden pipes empty the golden oil out of themselves?

12 καὶ ἐπηρώτησα ἐκ δευτέρου καὶ εἶπα πρὸς αὐτόν, τί οἱ δύο κλάδοι τῶν ἐλαιῶν οἱ ἐν ταῖς χερσὶν τῶν δύο μυξωτήρων τῶν χρυσῶν τῶν ἐπιχεόντων καὶ ἐπαναγόντων τὰς ἐπαρυστρίδας τὰς χρυσᾶς;	12 καὶ ἐπηρώτησα ἐκ δευτέρου καὶ εἶπα πρὸς αὐτόν· τί οἱ δύο κλάδοι τῶν ἐλαιῶν οἱ ἐν ταῖς χερσὶ τῶν δύο μυξωτήρων τῶν χρυσῶν τῶν ἐπιχεόντων καὶ ἐπαναγόντων τὰς ἐπαρυστρίδας τὰς χρυσᾶς;
12 And I inquired the second time, and said to him, “What are the two branches of the olive trees in the hands of the two gold nozzles that pour and connect to the golden oil dispensers?”	12 And I inquired the second time, and said to him, “What are the two branches of the olive trees in the hands of the two gold nozzles that pour and connect to the golden oil dispensers?”

13 And he answered me and said, Know you not what these be? And I said, No, my lord.

13 καὶ εἶπεν πρός με, οὐκ οἶδας τί ἐστιν ταῦτα; καὶ εἶπα, οὐχί, κύριε.	13 καὶ εἶπε πρός με· οὐκ οἶδας τί ἔστι ταῦτα; καὶ εἶπα οὐχί, κύριε.
13 And he said to me, “Don’t you know what these are?” and I said, “No, sir.”	13 And he said to me, “Don’t you know what these are?” and I said, “No, sir.”

14 Then said he, These are the two anointed ones, who stand by Yahweh of the whole earth.

14 καὶ εἶπεν, οὗτοι οἱ δύο υἱοὶ τῆς πιότητος παρεστήκασιν τῷ κυρίῳ πάσης τῆς γῆς.	14 καὶ εἶπε· οὗτοι οἱ δύο υἱοὶ τῆς πιότητος παρεστήκασι Κυρίῳ πάσης τῆς γῆς.
14 And he said, “These are the two sons of fatness who stand by the Lord of the whole land.”	14 And he said, “These are the two sons of fatness who stand by the Lord of the whole land.”
