Ezekiel

1 Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

וַיְהִי דְבַר ־ יְהוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר׃

2 Son of man, set your face against mount Seir, and prophesy against it,

בֶּן ־ אָדָם שִׂים פָּנֶיךָ עַל ־ הַר שֵׂעִיר וְהִנָּבֵא עָלָיו׃

2 υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, ἐπίστρεψον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπ’ ὄρος Σηὶρ καὶ προφήτευσον ἐπ’ αὐτὸ	2 υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, ἐπίστρεψον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπ’ ὄρος Σηεὶρ καὶ προφήτευσον εἰς αὐτὸ

3 And say to it, Thus says Adonai Yahweh; Behold, Oh mount Seir, I am against you, and I will stretch out my hand against you, and I will make you most desolate.

וְאָמַרְתָּ לֹּו כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הִנְנִי אֵלֶיךָ הַר ־ שֵׂעִיר וְנָטִיתִי יָדִי עָלֶיךָ וּנְתַתִּיךָ שְׁמָמָה וּמְשַׁמָּה׃

3 καὶ εἰπόν τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπὶ σέ, ὄρος Σηίρ, καὶ ἐκτενῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ δώσω σὲ ἔρημον, καὶ ἐρημωθήσῃ,	3 καὶ εἰπόν· τάδε λέγει Κύριος Κύριος· ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπὶ σέ, ὄρος Σηείρ, καὶ ἐκτενῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπὶ σέ καὶ δώσω σε εἰς ἔρημον καὶ ἐρημωθήσῃ,

4 I will lay your cities waste, and you shall be desolate, and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

עָרֶיךָ חָרְבָּה אָשִׂים וְאַתָּה שְׁמָמָה תִהְיֶה וְיָדַעְתָּ כִּי ־ אֲנִי יְהוָה׃

4 καὶ ταῖς πόλεσίν σου ἐρημίαν ποιήσω, καὶ σὺ ἔρημος ἔσῃ· καὶ γνώσῃ ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος.	4 καὶ ταῖς πόλεσί σου ἐρημίαν ποιήσω, καὶ σὺ ἔρημος ἔσῃ· καὶ γνώσῃ ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος,

5 Because you have had a perpetual hatred, and have shed the blood of the sons of Israēl by the force of the sword in the time of their calamity, in the time that their iniquity had an end.

יַעַן הֱיֹות לְךָ אֵיבַת עֹולָם וַתַּגֵּר אֶת ־ בְּנֵי ־ יִשְׂרָאֵל עַל ־ יְדֵי ־ חָרֶב בְּעֵת אֵידָם בְּעֵת עֲוֹן קֵץ׃

5 ἀντὶ τοῦ γενέσθαι σὲ ἐχθρὰν αἰωνίαν καὶ ἐνεκάθισας τῷ οἴκῳ Ἰσραὴλ δόλῳ ἐν χειρὶ ἐχθρῶν μαχαίρᾳ ἐν καιρῷ ἀδικίας ἐπ’ ἐσχάτῳ,	5 ἀντὶ τοῦ γενέσθαι σε ἐχθρὰν αἰωνίαν καὶ ἐνεκάθισας τῷ οἴκῳ Ἰσραὴλ δόλῳ, ἐν χειρὶ ἐχθρῶν μαχαίρᾳ ἐν καιρῷ ἀδικίας ἐπ’ ἐσχάτῳ,

6 Therefore, as I live, says Adonai Yahweh, I will prepare you to blood, and blood shall pursue you: since you haven’t hated blood, even blood shall pursue you.

לָכֵן חַי ־ אָנִי נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה כִּי ־ לְדָם אֶעֶשְׂךָ וְדָם יִרְדֲּפֶךָ אִם ־ לֹא דָם שָׂנֵאתָ וְדָם יִרְדֲּפֶךָ׃

6 διὰ τοῦτο, ζῶ ἐγώ, λέγει κύριος κύριος, εἰ μὴν εἰς αἷμα ἥμαρτες, καὶ αἷμά σὲ διώξεται.	6 διὰ τοῦτο, ζῶ ἐγώ, λέγει Κύριος Κύριος, εἰ μήν, εἰς αἷμα ἥμαρτες, καὶ αἷμα διώξεταί σε.

7 Thus will I make mount Seir most desolate, and cut off from it him who passes out and him who return s.

וְנָתַתִּי אֶת ־ הַר שֵׂעִיר לְשִׁמְמָה וּשְׁמָמָה וְהִכְרַתִּי מִמֶּנּוּ עֹבֵר וָשָׁב׃

7 καὶ δώσω τὸ ὄρος Σηὶρ εἰς ἔρημον καὶ ἠρημωμένον καὶ ἀπολῶ ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ ἀνθρώπους καὶ κτήνη	7 καὶ δώσω τὸ ὄρος Σηεὶρ εἰς ἔρημον καὶ ἠρημωμένον καὶ ἀπολῶ ἀπ’ αὐτοῦ ἀνθρώπους καὶ κτήνη

8 And I will fill his mountains with his slain men: in your hills, and in your valleys, and in all your rivers, they shall fall that are slain with the sword.

וּמִלֵּאתִי אֶת ־ הָרָיו חֲלָלָיו גִּבְעֹותֶיךָ וְגֵאֹותֶיךָ וְכָל ־ אֲפִיקֶיךָ חַלְלֵי ־ חֶרֶב יִפְּלוּ בָהֶם׃

8 καὶ ἐμπλήσω τῶν τραυματιῶν σου τοὺς βουνοὺς καὶ τὰς φάραγγάς σου, καὶ ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς πεδίοις σου τετραυματισμένοι μαχαίρᾳ πεσοῦνται ἐν σοί.	8 καὶ ἐμπλήσω τῶν τραυματιῶν τοὺς βουνούς σου καὶ τὰς φάραγγάς σου, καὶ ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς πεδίοις σου τετραυματισμένοι μαχαίρᾳ πεσοῦνται ἐν σοί.

9 I will make you perpetual desolations, and your cities shall not return; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

שִׁמְמֹות עֹולָם אֶתֶּנְךָ וְעָרֶיךָ לֹא תֵישַׁבְנָה וִידַעְתֶּם כִּי ־ אֲנִי יְהוָה׃

10 Because you have said, These two nations and these two countries shall be mine, and we will possess it; whereas Yahweh was there.

יַעַן אֲמָרְךָ אֶת ־ שְׁנֵי הַגֹּויִם וְאֶת ־ שְׁתֵּי הָאֲרָצֹות לִי תִהְיֶינָה וִירַשְׁנוּהָ וַיהוָה שָׁם הָיָה׃

10 διὰ τὸ εἰπεῖν σὲ τὰ δύο ἔθνη καὶ αἱ δύο χῶραι ἐμαὶ ἔσονται καὶ κληρονομήσω αὐτάς, καὶ κύριος ἐκεῖ ἐστιν,	10 διὰ τὸ εἰπεῖν σε· τὰ δύο ἔθνη καὶ αἱ δύο χῶραι ἐμαὶ ἐμαὶ ἔσονται καὶ κληρονομήσω αὐτάς, καὶ Κύριος ἐκεῖ ἔστι,

11 Therefore, as I live, says Adonai Yahweh, I will even do according to your anger, and according to your envy which you have used out of your hatred against them; and I will make myself known among them, when I have judged you.

לָכֵן חַי ־ אָנִי נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה וְעָשִׂיתִי כְּאַפְּךָ וּכְקִנְאָתְךָ אֲשֶׁר עָשִׂיתָה מִשִּׂנְאָתֶיךָ בָּם וְנֹודַעְתִּי בָם כַּאֲשֶׁר אֶשְׁפְּטֶךָ׃

11 διὰ τοῦτο, ζῶ ἐγώ, λέγει κύριος, καὶ ποιήσω σοί κατὰ τὴν ἔχθραν σου καὶ γνωσθήσομαί σοι, ἡνίκα ἄν κρίνω σε·	11 διὰ τοῦτο, ζῶ ἐγώ, λέγει Κύριος, καὶ ποιήσω σοι κατὰ τὴν ἔχθραν σου καὶ γνωσθήσομαί σοι, ἡνίκα ἄν κρινῶ σε,

12 And you shall know that I am Yahweh, and that I have heard all your blasphemies which you have spoken against the mountains of Israēl, saying, They are laid desolate, they are given us to consume.

וְיָדַעְתָּ כִּי ־ אֲנִי יְהוָה שָׁמַעְתִּי אֶת ־ כָּל ־ נָאָצֹותֶיךָ אֲשֶׁר אָמַרְתָּ עַל ־ הָרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֵאמֹר שָׁמֵמָה לָנוּ נִתְּנוּ לְאָכְלָה׃

12 καὶ γνώσῃ ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος. ἤκουσα τῆς φωνῆς τῶν βλασφημιῶν σου, ὅτι εἶπας τὰ ὄρη Ἰσραὴλ ἔρημα, ἡμῖν δέδοται εἰς κατάβρωμα·	12 καὶ γνώσῃ ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος. ἤκουσα τῆς φωνῆς τῶν βλασφημιῶν σου, ὅτι εἶπας· τὰ ὄρη Ἰσραὴλ ἔρημα, ἡμῖν δέδοται εἰς κατάβρωμα·
12 and you shall know that I am the Lord. I have heard the voice of your blasphemies, whereas you have said, The desert mountains of Israēl are given to us for food;	12 and you shall know that I am the Lord. 13 Thus with your mouth you have boasted against me, and have multiplied your words against me: I have heard them.

וַתַּגְדִּילוּ עָלַי בְּפִיכֶם וְהַעְתַּרְתֶּם עָלַי דִּבְרֵיכֶם אֲנִי שָׁמָעְתִּי׃ ס

13 καὶ ἐμεγαλορρημόνησας ἐπ’ ἐμὲ τῷ στόματί σου· ἐγὼ ἤκουσα.	13 καὶ ἐμεγαλορρημόνησας ἐπ’ ἐμὲ τῷ στόματί σου· ἐγὼ ἤκουσα.

14 Thus says Adonai Yahweh; When the whole earth rejoices, I will make you desolate.

כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה כִּשְׂמֹחַ כָּל ־ הָאָרֶץ שְׁמָמָה אֶעֱשֶׂה ־ לָּךְ׃

14 τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐν τῇ εὐφροσύνῃ πάσης τῆς γῆς ἔρημον ποιήσω σε·	14 τάδε λέγει Κύριος· ἐν τῇ εὐφροσύνῃ πάσης τῆς γῆς ἔρημον ποιήσω σε,

15 As you did rejoice at the inheritance of the house of Israēl, because it was desolate, so will I do to you: you shall be desolate, Oh mount Seir, and all Idumea, even all of it; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

כְּשִׂמְחָתְךָ לְנַחְלַת בֵּית ־ יִשְׂרָאֵל עַל אֲשֶׁר ־ שָׁמֵמָה כֵּן אֶעֱשֶׂה ־ לָּךְ שְׁמָמָה תִהְיֶה הַר ־ שֵׂעִיר וְכָל ־ אֱדֹום כֻּלָּהּ וְיָדְעוּ כִּי ־ אֲנִי יְהוָה׃ פ

15 ἔρημον ἔσῃ, ὄρος Σηίρ, καὶ πᾶσα ἡ Ἰδουμαία ἐξαναλωθήσεται· καὶ γνώσῃ ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ὁ θεὸς αὐτῶν.	15 ἔρημον ἔσῃ, ὄρος Σηείρ, καὶ πᾶσα ἡ Ἰδουμαία ἐξαναλωθήσεται· καὶ γνώσῃ ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς αὐτῶν.
