Ezekiel

1 Also, you son of man, prophesy to the mountains of Israēl, and say, You mountains of Israēl, hear the word of Yahweh.

וְאַתָּה בֶן ־ אָדָם הִנָּבֵא אֶל ־ הָרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָמַרְתָּ הָרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל שִׁמְעוּ דְּבַר ־ יְהוָה׃

1 καὶ σύ, υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, προφήτευσον ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη Ἰσραὴλ καὶ εἰπὸν τοῖς ὄρεσιν τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ ἀκούσατε λόγον κυρίου	1 Καὶ σὺ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, προφήτευσον ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη Ἰσραὴλ καὶ εἰπὸν τοῖς ὄρεσι τοῦ Ἰσραήλ· ἀκούσατε λόγον Κυρίου·

2 Thus says Adonai Yahweh; Because the enemy has said against you, Aha, even the ancient high places are ours in possession.

כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה יַעַן אָמַר הָאֹויֵב עֲלֵיכֶם הֶאָח וּבָמֹות עֹולָם לְמֹורָשָׁה הָיְתָה לָּנוּ׃

2 τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος ἀνθ’ ὧν εἶπεν ὁ ἐχθρὸς ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς εὖγε ἔρημα αἰώνια εἰς κατάσχεσιν ἡμῖν ἐγενήθη,	2 τάδε λέγει Κύριος Κύριος· ἀνθ’ ὧν εἶπε ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ὁ ἐχθρός· εὖγε ἔρημα αἰώνια εἰς κατάσχεσιν ἡμῖν ἐγενήθη,

3 Therefore prophesy and say, Thus says Adonai Yahweh; Because they have made you desolate, and swallowed you up on every side, that you might be a possession to the residue of the heathen, and you are taken up in the lips of talkers, and are an infamy of the people.

לָכֵן הִנָּבֵא וְאָמַרְתָּ כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה יַעַן בְּיַעַן שַׁמֹּות וְשָׁאֹף אֶתְכֶם מִסָּבִיב לִהְיֹותְכֶם מֹורָשָׁה לִשְׁאֵרִית הַגֹּויִם וַתֵּעֲלוּ עַל ־ שְׂפַת לָשֹׁון וְדִבַּת ־ עָם׃

3 διὰ τοῦτο προφήτευσον καὶ εἰπόν τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος ἀντὶ τοῦ ἀτιμασθῆναι ὑμᾶς καὶ μισηθῆναι ὑμᾶς ὑπὸ τῶν κύκλῳ ὑμῶν τοῦ εἶναι ὑμᾶς εἰς κατάσχεσιν τοῖς καταλοίποις ἔθνεσιν καὶ ἀνέβητε λάλημα γλώσσῃ καὶ εἰς ὀνείδισμα ἔθνεσιν,	3 διὰ τοῦτο προφήτευσον καὶ εἰπόν· τάδε λέγει Κύριος Κύριος· ἀντὶ τοῦ ἀτιμασθῆναι ὑμᾶς καὶ μισηθῆναι ὑμᾶς ὑπὸ τῶν κύκλῳ ὑμῶν τοῦ εἶναι ὑμᾶς εἰς κατάσχεσιν τοῖς καταλοίποις ἔθνεσι καὶ ἀνέβητε λάλημα γλώσσῃ καὶ εἰς ὀνείδισμα ἔθνεσι,

4 Therefore, you mountains of Israēl, hear the word of Adonai Yahweh; Thus says Adonai Yahweh to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, to the desolate ruins, and to the cities that are forsaken, which became a prey and derision to the residue of the heathen that are round about;

לָכֵן הָרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל שִׁמְעוּ דְּבַר ־ אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה כֹּה ־ אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה לֶהָרִים וְלַגְּבָעֹות לָאֲפִיקִים וְלַגֵּאָיֹות וְלֶחֳרָבֹות הַשֹּׁמְמֹות וְלֶעָרִים הַנֶּעֱזָבֹות אֲשֶׁר הָיוּ לְבַז וּלְלַעַג לִשְׁאֵרִית הַגֹּויִם אֲשֶׁר מִסָּבִיב׃ ס

4 διὰ τοῦτο, ὄρη Ἰσραήλ, ἀκούσατε λόγον κυρίου τάδε λέγει κύριος τοῖς ὄρεσιν καὶ τοῖς βουνοῖς καὶ ταῖς φάραγξιν καὶ τοῖς χειμάρροις καὶ τοῖς ἐξηρημωμένοις καὶ ἠφανισμένοις καὶ ταῖς πόλεσιν ταῖς ἐγκαταλελειμμέναις, αἳ ἐγένοντο εἰς προνομὴν καὶ εἰς καταπάτημα τοῖς καταλειφθεῖσιν ἔθνεσιν περικύκλῳ·	4 διὰ τοῦτο ὄρη Ἰσραήλ, ἀκούσατε λόγον Κυρίου· τάδε λέγει Κύριος τοῖς ὄρεσι καὶ τοῖς βουνοῖς καὶ τοῖς χειμάρροις καὶ ταῖς φάραγξι καὶ τοῖς ἐξηρημωμένοις καὶ ἠφανισμένοις καὶ ταῖς πόλεσι ταῖς ἐγκαταλελειμμέναις, αἳ ἐγένοντο εἰς προνομὴν καὶ εἰς καταπάτημα τοῖς καταλειφθεῖσιν ἔθνεσι περικύκλῳ·

5 Therefore thus says Adonai Yahweh; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.

לָכֵן כֹּה ־ אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה אִם ־ לֹא בְּאֵשׁ קִנְאָתִי דִבַּרְתִּי עַל ־ שְׁאֵרִית הַגֹּויִם וְעַל ־ אֱדֹום כֻּלָּא אֲשֶׁר נָתְנוּ ־ אֶת ־ אַרְצִי לָהֶם לְמֹורָשָׁה בְּשִׂמְחַת כָּל ־ לֵבָב בִּשְׁאָט נֶפֶשׁ לְמַעַן מִגְרָשָׁהּ לָבַז׃

5 διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος εἰ μὴν ἐν πυρὶ θυμοῦ μου ἐλάλησα ἐπὶ τὰ λοιπὰ ἔθνη καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν Ἰδουμαίαν πᾶσαν, ὅτι ἔδωκαν τὴν γῆν μου ἑαυτοῖς εἰς κατάσχεσιν μετ’ εὐφροσύνης ἀτιμάσαντες ψυχὰς τοῦ ἀφανίσαι ἐν προνομῇ·	5 διὰ τοῦτο τάδε λέγει Κύριος Κύριος· εἰ μὴν ἐν πυρὶ θυμοῦ μου ἐλάλησα ἐπὶ τὰ λοιπὰ ἔθνη καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν Ἰδουμαίαν πᾶσαν, ὅτι ἔδωκαν τὴν γῆν μου ἑαυτοῖς εἰς κατάσχεσιν μετ’ εὐφροσύνης ἀτιμάσαντες ψυχὰς τοῦ ἀφανίσαι ἐν προνομῇ.

6 Prophesy therefore concerning the land of Israēl, and say to the mountains, and to the hills, to the rivers, and to the valleys, Thus says Adonai Yahweh; Behold, I have spoken in my jealousy and in my fury, because you have carried the shame of the heathen.

לָכֵן הִנָּבֵא עַל ־ אַדְמַת יִשְׂרָאֵל וְאָמַרְתָּ לֶהָרִים וְלַגְּבָעֹות לָאֲפִיקִים וְלַגֵּאָיֹות כֹּה ־ אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הִנְנִי בְקִנְאָתִי וּבַחֲמָתִי דִּבַּרְתִּי יַעַן כְּלִמַּת גֹּויִם נְשָׂאתֶם׃

6 διὰ τοῦτο προφήτευσον ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ καὶ εἰπὸν τοῖς ὄρεσιν καὶ τοῖς βουνοῖς καὶ ταῖς φάραγξιν καὶ ταῖς νάπαις τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ ζήλῳ μου καὶ ἐν τῷ θυμῷ μου ἐλάλησα ἀντὶ τοῦ ὀνειδισμοὺς ἐθνῶν ἐγκαινίοις ὑμᾶς·	6 διὰ τοῦτο προφήτευσον ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ καὶ εἰπὸν τοῖς ὄρεσι καί τοῖς βουνοῖς καὶ ταῖς φάραγξι καὶ ταῖς νάπαις· τάδε λέγει Κύριος· ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐν τῷ ζήλῳ μου καὶ ἐν τῷ θυμῷ μου ἐλάλησα, ἀντὶ τοῦ ὀνειδισμοὺς ἐθνῶν ἐνέγκαι ὑμᾶς.

7 Therefore thus says Adonai Yahweh; I have lifted up my hand, Surely the heathen that are about you, they shall bear their shame.

לָכֵן כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה אֲנִי נָשָׂאתִי אֶת ־ יָדִי אִם ־ לֹא הַגֹּויִם אֲשֶׁר לָכֶם מִסָּבִיב הֵמָּה כְּלִמָּתָם יִשָּׂאוּ׃

7 διὰ τοῦτο ἐγὼ ἀρῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπὶ τὰ ἔθνη τὰ περικύκλῳ ὑμῶν, οὗτοι τὴν ἀτιμίαν αὐτῶν λήμψονται·	7 διὰ τοῦτο ἐγὼ ἀρῶ τὴν χεῖρά μου ἐπὶ τὰ ἔθνη τὰ περικύκλῳ ὑμῶν, οὗτοι τὴν ἀτιμίαν αὐτῶν λήψονται·

8 But you, Oh mountains of Israēl, you shall shoot forth your branches, and yield your fruit to my people of Israēl; for they are at hand to come.

וְאַתֶּם הָרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל עַנְפְּכֶם תִּתֵּנוּ וּפֶרְיְכֶם תִּשְׂאוּ לְעַמִּי יִשְׂרָאֵל כִּי קֵרְבוּ לָבֹוא׃

8 ὑμῶν δέ, ὄρη Ἰσραήλ, τὴν σταφυλὴν καὶ τὸν καρπὸν ὑμῶν καταφάγεται ὁ λαός μου, ὅτι ἐγγίζουσιν τοῦ ἐλθεῖν.	8 ὑμῶν δέ, ὄρη Ἰσραήλ, τὴν σταφυλὴν καὶ τὸν καρπὸν ὑμῶν καταφάγεται ὁ λαός μου, ὅτι ἐλπίζουσι τοῦ ἐλθεῖν.

9 For, behold, I am for you, and I will turn to you, and you shall be tilled and sown.

כִּי הִנְנִי אֲלֵיכֶם וּפָנִיתִי אֲלֵיכֶם וְנֶעֱבַדְתֶּם וְנִזְרַעְתֶּם׃

9 ὅτι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς, καὶ ἐπιβλέψω ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς καὶ κατεργασθήσεσθε καὶ σπαρήσεσθε.	9 ὅτι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐπιβλέψω ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς, καὶ κατεργασθήσεσθε καὶ σπαρήσεσθε.

10 And I will multiply men on you, all the house of Israēl, even all of it; and the cities shall be inhabited, and the ruins shall be built.

וְהִרְבֵּיתִי עֲלֵיכֶם אָדָם כָּל ־ בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל כֻּלֹּה וְנֹשְׁבוּ הֶעָרִים וְהֶחֳרָבֹות תִּבָּנֶינָה׃

10 καὶ πληθυνῶ ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ἀνθρώπους, πᾶν οἶκον Ἰσραὴλ εἰς τέλος, καὶ κατοικηθήσονται αἱ πόλεις, καὶ ἡ ἠρημωμένη οἰκοδομηθήσεται.	10 καὶ πληθυνῶ ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ἀνθρώπους, πᾶν οἶκον Ἰσραὴλ εἰς τέλος· καὶ κατοικηθήσονται αἱ πόλεις καὶ ἡ ἠρημωμένη οἰκοδομηθήσεται.

11 And I will multiply on you man and beast; and they shall increase and bring fruit; and I will settle you after your old estates, and will do better to you than at your beginnings; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

וְהִרְבֵּיתִי עֲלֵיכֶם אָדָם וּבְהֵמָה וְרָבוּ וּפָרוּ וְהֹושַׁבְתִּי אֶתְכֶם כְּקַדְמֹותֵיכֶם וְהֵטִבֹתִי מֵרִאשֹׁתֵיכֶם וִידַעְתֶּם כִּי ־ אֲנִי יְהוָה׃

11 καὶ πληθυνῶ ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ἀνθρώπους καὶ κτήνη καὶ κατοικιῶ ὑμᾶς ὡς τὸ ἐν ἀρχῇ ὑμῶν καὶ εὖ ποιήσω ὑμᾶς ὥσπερ τὰ ἔμπροσθεν ὑμῶν, καὶ γνώσεσθε ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος.	11 καὶ πληθυνῶ ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ἀνθρώπους καὶ κτήνη καὶ κατοικιῶ ὑμᾶς ὡς τὸ ἐν ἀρχῇ ὑμῶν καὶ εὖ ποιήσω ὑμᾶς ὥσπερ τὰ ἔμπροσθεν ὑμῶν· καὶ γνώσεσθε ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος.

12 Yes, I will cause men to walk on you, even my people Israēl; and they shall possess you, and you shall be their inheritance, and you shall no more henceforth bereave them of men.

וְהֹולַכְתִּי עֲלֵיכֶם אָדָם אֶת ־ עַמִּי יִשְׂרָאֵל וִירֵשׁוּךָ וְהָיִיתָ לָהֶם לְנַחֲלָה וְלֹא ־ תֹוסִף עֹוד לְשַׁכְּלָם׃ ס

12 καὶ γεννήσω ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ἀνθρώπους τὸν λαόν μου Ἰσραήλ, καὶ κληρονομήσουσιν ὑμᾶς, καὶ ἔσεσθε αὐτοῖς εἰς κατάσχεσιν· καὶ οὐ μὴ προστεθῆτε ἔτι ἀτεκνωθῆναι ἀπ’ αὐτῶν.	12 καὶ γεννήσω ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ἀνθρώπους, τὸν λαόν μου Ἰσραήλ, καὶ κληρονομήσουσιν ὑμᾶς, καὶ ἔσεσθε αὐτοῖς εἰς κατάσχεσιν· καὶ οὐ μὴ προστεθῆτε ἔτι ἀτεκνωθῆναι ἀπ’ αὐτῶν.

13 Thus says Adonai Yahweh; Because they say to you, You land devour up men, and have bereaved your nations;

כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה יַעַן אֹמְרִים לָכֶם אֹכֶלֶת אָדָם אָתִּי וּמְשַׁכֶּלֶת גֹּויֵךְ הָיִית׃

13 τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος ἀνθ’ ὧν εἶπάν σοί κατέσθουσα ἀνθρώπους εἶ καὶ ἠτεκνωμένη ὑπὸ τοῦ ἔθνους σου ἐγένου,	13 τάδε λέγει Κύριος Κύριος· ἀνθ’ ὧν εἶπάν σοι· κατέσθουσα ἀνθρώπους εἶ καὶ ἠτεκνωμένη ὑπὸ τοῦ ἔθνους σου ἐγένου,

14 Therefore you shall devour men no more, neither bereave your nations any more, says Adonai Yahweh.

לָכֵן אָדָם לֹא ־ תֹאכְלִי עֹוד וְגֹויֵךְ לֹא תְכַשְּׁלִי עֹוד נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה׃

14 διὰ τοῦτο ἀνθρώπους οὐκέτι φάγεσαι καὶ τὸ ἔθνος σου οὐκ ἀτεκνώσεις ἔτι, λέγει κύριος κύριος.	14 διὰ τοῦτο ἀνθρώπους οὐκέτι φάγεσαι καὶ τὸ ἔθνος σου οὐκ ἀτεκνώσεις ἔτι, λέγει Κύριος Κύριος.

15 Neither will I cause men to hear in you the shame of the heathen any more, neither shall you bear the reproach of the people any more, neither shall you cause your nations to fall any more, says Adonai Yahweh.

וְלֹא ־ אַשְׁמִיעַ אֵלַיִךְ עֹוד כְּלִמַּת הַגֹּויִם וְחֶרְפַּת עַמִּים לֹא תִשְׂאִי ־ עֹוד וְגֹויֵךְ לֹא ־ תַכְשִׁלִי עֹוד נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה׃ ס

15 καὶ οὐκ ἀκουσθήσεται οὐκέτι ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ἀτιμία ἐθνῶν, καὶ ὀνειδισμοὺς λαῶν οὐ μὴ ἀνενέγκητε, λέγει κύριος κύριος.	15 καὶ οὐκ ἀκουσθήσεται οὐκέτι ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ἀτιμία ἐθνῶν, καὶ ὀνειδισμοὺς λαῶν οὐ μὴ ἀνενέγκητε ἔτι, λέγει Κύριος Κύριος.

16 Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

וַיְהִי דְבַר ־ יְהוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר׃

17 Son of man, when the house of Israēl dwelt in their own land, they defiled it by their own way and by their doings: their way was before me as the uncleanness of a removed woman.

בֶּן ־ אָדָם בֵּית יִשְׂרָאֵל יֹשְׁבִים עַל ־ אַדְמָתָם וַיְטַמְּאוּ אֹותָהּ בְּדַרְכָּם וּבַעֲלִילֹותָם כְּטֻמְאַת הַנִּדָּה הָיְתָה דַרְכָּם לְפָנָי׃

35 καὶ ἐροῦσιν ἡ γῆ ἐκείνη ἡ ἠφανισμένη ἐγενήθη ὡς κῆπος τρυφῆς, καὶ αἱ πόλεις αἱ ἔρημοι καὶ ἠφανισμέναι καὶ κατεσκαμμέναι ὀχυραὶ ἐκάθισαν.	35 καὶ ἐροῦσιν· ἡ γῆ ἐκείνη ἡ ἠφανισμένη ἐγενήθη ὡς κῆπος τρυφῆς, καὶ αἱ πόλεις αἱ ἔρημοι καὶ ἠφανισμέναι καὶ κατεσκαμμέναι ὀχυραὶ ἐκάθισαν.

36 Then the heathen that are left all around you shall know that I Yahweh build the ruined places, and plant that that was desolate: I Yahweh have spoken it, and I will do it.

וְיָדְעוּ הַגֹּויִם אֲשֶׁר יִשָּׁאֲרוּ סְבִיבֹותֵיכֶם כִּי אֲנִי יְהוָה בָּנִיתִי הַנֶּהֱרָסֹות נָטַעְתִּי הַנְּשַׁמָּה אֲנִי יְהוָה דִּבַּרְתִּי וְעָשִׂיתִי׃ ס

36 καὶ γνώσονται τὰ ἔθνη, ὅσα ἄν καταλειφθῶσιν κύκλῳ ὑμῶν, ὅτι ἐγὼ κύριος ᾠκοδόμησα τὰς καθῃρημένας καὶ κατεφύτευσα τὰς ἠφανισμένας· ἐγὼ κύριος ἐλάλησα καὶ ποιήσω.	36 καὶ γνώσονται τὰ ἔθνη, ὅσα ἄν καταλειφθῶσι κύκλῳ ὑμῶν, ὅτι ἐγὼ Κύριος ᾠκοδόμησα τὰς καθῃρημένας καὶ κατεφύτευσα τὰς ἠφανισμένας. ἐγὼ Κύριος ἐλάλησα καὶ ποιήσω.

37 Thus says Adonai Yahweh; I will yet for this be inquired of by the house of Israēl, to do it for them; I will increase them with men like a flock.

כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה עֹוד זֹאת אִדָּרֵשׁ לְבֵית ־ יִשְׂרָאֵל לַעֲשֹׂות לָהֶם אַרְבֶּה אֹתָם כַּצֹּאן אָדָם׃

38 As the holy flock, as the flock of Jerusalem in her solemn feasts; so shall the waste cities be filled with flocks of men; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

38 ὡς πρόβατα ἅγια, ὡς πρόβατα Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἐν ταῖς ἑορταῖς αὐτῆς, οὕτως ἔσονται αἱ πόλεις αἱ ἔρημοι πλήρεις προβάτων ἀνθρώπων· καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ἐγὼ κύριος.	38 ὡς πρόβατα ἅγια, ὡς πρόβατα Ἱερουσαλὴμ ἐν ταῖς ἑορταῖς αὐτῆς, οὕτως ἔσονται αἱ πόλεις αἱ ἔρημοι πλήρεις προβάτων ἀνθρώπων, καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ἐγὼ Κύριος.
