Ezekiel

1 And the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

וַיְהִי דְבַר ־ יְהוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר׃

2 Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israēl, prophesy, and say to them, Thus says Adonai Yahweh to the shepherds; Woe be to the shepherds of Israēl that do feed themselves! should not the shepherds feed the flocks?

בֶּן ־ אָדָם הִנָּבֵא עַל ־ רֹועֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל הִנָּבֵא וְאָמַרְתָּ אֲלֵיהֶם לָרֹעִים כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הֹוי רֹעֵי ־ יִשְׂרָאֵל אֲשֶׁר הָיוּ רֹעִים אֹותָם הֲלֹוא הַצֹּאן יִרְעוּ הָרֹעִים׃

2 υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, προφήτευσον ἐπὶ τοὺς ποιμένας τοῦ Ἰσραήλ, προφήτευσον καὶ εἰπὸν τοῖς ποιμέσι τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος, ὦ ποιμένες Ἰσραήλ, μὴ βόσκουσιν ποιμένες ἑαυτούς; οὐ τὰ πρόβατα βόσκουσιν οἱ ποιμένες;	2 υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, προφήτευσον ἐπὶ τοὺς ποιμένας τοῦ Ἰσραήλ, προφήτευσον καὶ εἰπὸν τοῖς ποιμέσι· τάδε λέγει Κύριος Κύριος· ὦ ποιμένες Ἰσραήλ, μὴ βόσκουσι ποιμένες ἑαυτούς; οὐ τὰ πρόβατα βόσκουσιν οἱ ποιμένες;

3 You eat the fat, and you clothe you with the wool, you kill those who are fed; but you feed not the flock.

אֶת ־ הַחֵלֶב תֹּאכֵלוּ וְאֶת ־ הַצֶּמֶר תִּלְבָּשׁוּ הַבְּרִיאָה תִּזְבָּחוּ הַצֹּאן לֹא תִרְעוּ׃

3 ἰδοὺ τὸ γάλα κατέσθετε καὶ τὰ ἔρια περιβάλλεσθε καὶ τὸ παχὺ σφάζετε καὶ τὰ πρόβατά μου οὐ βόσκετε·	3 ἰδοὺ τὸ γάλα κατέσθετε καὶ τὰ ἔρια περιβάλλεσθε καὶ τὸ παχὺ σφάζετε καὶ τὰ πρόβατά μου οὐ βόσκετε.

4 The diseased you haven’t strengthened, neither have you healed what was sick, neither have you bound up what was broken, neither have you brought again what was driven away, neither have you sought what was lost; but with force and with cruelty have you ruled them.

4 τὸ ἠσθενηκὸς οὐκ ἐνισχύσατε καὶ τὸ κακῶς ἔχον οὐκ ἐσωματοποιήσατε καὶ τὸ συντετριμμένον οὐ κατεδήσατε καὶ τὸ πλανώμενον οὐκ ἐπεστρέψατε καὶ τὸ ἀπολωλὸς οὐκ ἐζητήσατε καὶ τὸ ἰσχυρὸν κατειργάσασθε μόχθῳ.	4 τὸ ἠσθενηκὸς οὐκ ἐνισχύσατε καὶ τὸ κακῶς ἔχον οὐκ ἐσωματοποιήσατε καὶ τὸ συντετριμμένον οὐ κατεδήσατε καὶ τὸ πλανώμενον οὐκ ἐπεστρέψατε καὶ τὸ ἀπολωλὸς οὐκ ἐζητήσατε καὶ τὸ ἰσχυρὸν κατηργάσασθε μόχθῳ.

5 And they were scattered, because there is no shepherd; and they became food to all the beasts of the field, when they were scattered.

וַתְּפוּצֶינָה מִבְּלִי רֹעֶה וַתִּהְיֶינָה לְאָכְלָה לְכָל ־ חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה וַתְּפוּצֶינָה׃

5 καὶ διεσπάρη τὰ πρόβατά μου διὰ τὸ μὴ εἶναι ποιμένας καὶ ἐγενήθη εἰς κατάβρωμα πᾶσι τοῖς θηρίοις τοῦ ἀγροῦ·	5 καὶ διεσπάρη τά πρόβατά μου διὰ τὸ μὴ εἶναι ποιμένας καὶ ἐγενήθη εἰς κατάβρωμα πᾶσι τοῖς θηρίοις τοῦ ἀγροῦ.

6 My sheep wandered through all the mountains, and on every high hill: yes, my flock was scattered on all the face of the earth, and none did search or seek after them.

יִשְׁגּוּ צֹאנִי בְּכָל ־ הֶהָרִים וְעַל כָּל ־ גִּבְעָה רָמָה וְעַל כָּל ־ פְּנֵי הָאָרֶץ נָפֹצוּ צֹאנִי וְאֵין דֹּורֵשׁ וְאֵין מְבַקֵּשׁ׃

6 καὶ διεσπάρη μου τὰ πρόβατα ἐν παντὶ ὄρει καὶ ἐπὶ πᾶν βουνὸν ὑψηλὸν καὶ ἐπὶ προσώπου πάσης τῆς γῆς διεσπάρη, καὶ οὐκ ἦν ὁ ἐκζητῶν οὐδὲ ὁ ἀποστρέφων.	6 καὶ διεσπάρη τά πρόβατά μου ἐν παντὶ ὄρει καὶ ἐπὶ πᾶν βουνὸν ὑψηλὸν καὶ ἐπὶ προσώπου πάσης τῆς γῆς διεσπάρη, καὶ οὐκ ἦν ὁ ἐκζητῶν οὐδὲ ὁ ἀποστρέφων.

7 Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of Yahweh;

לָכֵן רֹעִים שִׁמְעוּ אֶת ־ דְּבַר יְהוָה׃

8 As I live, says Adonai Yahweh, surely because my flock became a prey, and my flock became food to every beast of the field, because there was no shepherd, neither did my shepherds search for my flock, but the shepherds fed themselves, and fed not my flock;

חַי ־ אָנִי נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה אִם ־ לֹא יַעַן הֱיֹות ־ צֹאנִי לָבַז וַתִּהְיֶינָה צֹאנִי לְאָכְלָה לְכָל ־ חַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה מֵאֵין רֹעֶה וְלֹא ־ דָרְשׁוּ רֹעַי אֶת ־ צֹאנִי וַיִּרְעוּ הָרֹעִים אֹותָם וְאֶת ־ צֹאנִי לֹא רָעוּ׃ ס

8 ζῶ ἐγώ, λέγει κύριος κύριος, εἰ μὴν ἀντὶ τοῦ γενέσθαι τὰ πρόβατά μου εἰς προνομὴν καὶ γενέσθαι τὰ πρόβατά μου εἰς κατάβρωμα πᾶσι τοῖς θηρίοις τοῦ πεδίου παρὰ τὸ μὴ εἶναι ποιμένας, καὶ οὐκ ἐξεζήτησαν οἱ ποιμένες τὰ πρόβατά μου, καὶ ἐβόσκησαν οἱ ποιμένες ἑαυτούς, τὰ δὲ πρόβατά μου οὐκ ἐβόσκησαν,	8 ζῶ ἐγώ, λέγει Κύριος Κύριος, εἰ μὴν ἀντὶ τοῦ γενέσθαι τὰ πρόβατά μου εἰς προνομὴν καὶ γενέσθαι τὰ πρόβατά μου εἰς κατάβρωμα πᾶσι τοῖς θηρίοις τοῦ πεδίου, παρὰ τὸ μὴ εἶναι ποιμένας, καὶ οὐκ ἐξεζήτησαν οἱ ποιμένες τὰ πρόβατά μου, καὶ ἐβόσκησαν οἱ ποιμένες ἑαυτούς, τὰ δὲ πρόβατά μου οὐκ ἐβόσκησαν,

9 Therefore, Oh you shepherds, hear the word of Yahweh;

10 Thus says Adonai Yahweh; Behold, I am against the shepherds; and I will require my flock at their hand, and cause them to cease from feeding the flock; neither shall the shepherds feed themselves any more; for I will deliver my flock from their mouth, that they may not be food for them.

כֹּה ־ אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הִנְנִי אֶל ־ הָרֹעִים וְדָרַשְׁתִּי אֶת ־ צֹאנִי מִיָּדָם וְהִשְׁבַּתִּים מֵרְעֹות צֹאן וְלֹא ־ יִרְעוּ עֹוד הָרֹעִים אֹותָם וְהִצַּלְתִּי צֹאנִי מִפִּיהֶם וְלֹא ־ תִהְיֶיןָ לָהֶם לְאָכְלָה׃ ס

10 τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπὶ τοὺς ποιμένας καὶ ἐκζητήσω τὰ πρόβατά μου ἐκ τῶν χειρῶν αὐτῶν καὶ ἀποστρέψω αὐτοὺς τοῦ μὴ ποιμαίνειν τὰ πρόβατά μου, καὶ οὐ βοσκήσουσιν ἔτι οἱ ποιμένες αὐτά· καὶ ἐξελοῦμαι τὰ πρόβατά μου ἐκ τοῦ στόματος αὐτῶν, καὶ οὐκ ἔσονται αὐτοῖς ἔτι εἰς κατάβρωμα.	10 τάδε λέγει Κύριος Κύριος· ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπὶ τοὺς ποιμένας καὶ ἐκζητήσω τὰ πρόβατά μου ἐκ τῶν χειρῶν αὐτῶν καὶ ἀποστρέψω αὐτοὺς τοῦ μὴ ποιμαίνειν τὰ πρόβατά μου, καὶ οὐ βοσκήσουσιν ἔτι οἱ ποιμένες αὐτά· καὶ ἐξελοῦμαι τὰ πρόβατά μου ἐκ τοῦ στόματος αὐτῶν. καὶ οὐκ ἔσονται αὐτοῖς ἔτι εἰς κατάβρωμα.

כִּי כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הִנְנִי ־ אָנִי וְדָרַשְׁתִּי אֶת ־ צֹאנִי וּבִקַּרְתִּים׃

11 διότι τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐκζητήσω τὰ πρόβατά μου καὶ ἐπισκέψομαι αὐτά.	11 διότι τάδε λέγει Κύριος Κύριος· ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐκζητήσω τὰ πρόβατά μου καὶ ἐπισκέψομαι αὐτά.

12 As a shepherd seeks out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

כְּבַקָּרַת רֹעֶה עֶדְרֹו בְּיֹום ־ הֱיֹותֹו בְתֹוךְ ־ צֹאנֹו נִפְרָשֹׁות כֵּן אֲבַקֵּר אֶת ־ צֹאנִי וְהִצַּלְתִּי אֶתְהֶם מִכָּל ־ הַמְּקֹומֹת אֲשֶׁר נָפֹצוּ שָׁם בְּיֹום עָנָן וַעֲרָפֶל׃

12 ὥσπερ ζητεῖ ὁ ποιμὴν τὸ ποίμνιον αὐτοῦ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ, ὅταν ᾖ γνόφος καὶ νεφέλη ἐν μέσῳ προβάτων διακεχωρισμένων, οὕτως ἐκζητήσω τὰ πρόβατά μου καὶ ἀπελάσω αὐτὰ ἀπὸ παντὸς τόπου, οὗ διεσπάρησαν ἐκεῖ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ νεφέλης καὶ γνόφου.	12 ὥσπερ ζητεῖ ὁ ποιμὴν τὸ ποίμνιον αὐτοῦ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ, ὅταν ᾖ γνόφος καὶ νεφέλη ἐν μέσῳ προβάτων διακεχωρισμένων, οὕτως ἐκζητήσω τά πρόβατά μου καὶ ἀπελάσω αὐτὰ ἀπὸ παντὸς τόπου, οὗ διεσπάρησαν ἐκεῖ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ νεφέλης καὶ γνόφου.

13 And I will bring them out from the people, and gather them from the countries, and will bring them to their own land, and feed them on the mountains of Israēl by the rivers, and in all the inhabited places of the country.

וְהֹוצֵאתִים מִן ־ הָעַמִּים וְקִבַּצְתִּים מִן ־ הָאֲרָצֹות וַהֲבִיאֹתִים אֶל ־ אַדְמָתָם וּרְעִיתִים אֶל ־ הָרֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל בָּאֲפִיקִים וּבְכֹל מֹושְׁבֵי הָאָרֶץ׃

13 καὶ ἐξάξω αὐτοὺς ἐκ τῶν ἐθνῶν καὶ συνάξω αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τῶν χωρῶν καὶ εἰσάξω αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν καὶ βοσκήσω αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη Ἰσραὴλ καὶ ἐν ταῖς φάραγξιν καὶ ἐν πάσῃ κατοικίᾳ τῆς γῆς·	13 καὶ ἐξάξω αὐτοὺς ἐκ τῶν ἐθνῶν καὶ συνάξω αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ τῶν χωρῶν καὶ εἰσάξω αὐτοὺς εἰς τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν καὶ βοσκήσω αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη Ἰσραὴλ καὶ ἐν ταῖς φάραγξι καὶ ἐν πάσῃ κατοικίᾳ τῆς γῆς·

14 ἐν νομῇ ἀγαθῇ βοσκήσω αὐτούς, καὶ ἐν τῷ ὄρει τῷ ὑψηλῷ Ἰσραὴλ ἔσονται αἱ μάνδραι αὐτῶν· ἐκεῖ κοιμηθήσονται καὶ ἐκεῖ ἀναπαύσονται ἐν τρυφῇ ἀγαθῇ καὶ ἐν νομῇ πίονι βοσκηθήσονται ἐπὶ τῶν ὀρέων Ἰσραήλ.	14 ἐν νομῇ ἀγαθῇ βοσκήσω αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐν τῷ ὄρει τῷ ὑψηλῷ Ἰσραὴλ ἔσονται αἱ μάνδραι αὐτῶν· ἐκεῖ κοιμηθήσονται καὶ ἐκεῖ ἀναπαύσονται ἐν τρυφῇ ἀγαθῇ, καὶ ἐν νομῇ πίονι βοσκηθήσονται ἐπὶ τῶν ὀρέων Ἰσραήλ.

15 I will feed my flock, and I will cause them to lie down, says Adonai Yahweh.

אֲנִי אֶרְעֶה צֹאנִי וַאֲנִי אַרְבִּיצֵם נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה׃

אֶת ־ הָאֹבֶדֶת אֲבַקֵּשׁ וְאֶת ־ הַנִּדַּחַת אָשִׁיב וְלַנִּשְׁבֶּרֶת אֶחֱבֹשׁ וְאֶת ־ הַחֹולָה אֲחַזֵּק וְאֶת ־ הַשְּׁמֵנָה וְאֶת ־ הַחֲזָקָה אַשְׁמִיד אֶרְעֶנָּה בְמִשְׁפָּט׃

16 τὸ ἀπολωλὸς ζητήσω καὶ τὸ πλανώμενον ἐπιστρέψω καὶ τὸ συντετριμμένον καταδήσω καὶ τὸ ἐκλεῖπον ἐνισχύσω καὶ τὸ ἰσχυρὸν φυλάξω καὶ βοσκήσω αὐτὰ μετὰ κρίματος.	16 τὸ ἀπολωλὸς ζητήσω καὶ τὸ πλανώμενον ἐπιστρέψω καὶ τὸ συντετριμμένον καταδήσω καὶ τὸ ἐκλεῖπον ἐνισχύσω καὶ τὸ ἰσχυρὸν φυλάξω καὶ βοσκήσω αὐτὰ μετὰ κρίματος.

17 And as for you, Oh my flock, thus says Adonai Yahweh; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the male goats.

וְאַתֵּנָה צֹאנִי כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הִנְנִי שֹׁפֵט בֵּין ־ שֶׂה לָשֶׂה לָאֵילִים וְלָעַתּוּדִים׃

17 καὶ ὑμεῖς, πρόβατα, τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ διακρινῶ ἀνὰ μέσον προβάτου καὶ προβάτου, κριῶν καὶ τράγων·	17 καὶ ὑμεῖς, πρόβατα, τάδε λέγει Κύριος Κύριος· ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ διακρινῶ ἀναμέσον προβάτου καὶ προβάτου, κριῶν καὶ τράγων.

18 Seemeth it a small thing to you to have eaten up the good pasture, but you must tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? And to have drunk of the deep waters, but you must foul the residue with your feet?

הַמְעַט מִכֶּם הַמִּרְעֶה הַטֹּוב תִּרְעוּ וְיֶתֶר מִרְעֵיכֶם תִּרְמְסוּ בְּרַגְלֵיכֶם וּמִשְׁקַע ־ מַיִם תִּשְׁתּוּ וְאֵת הַנֹּותָרִים בְּרַגְלֵיכֶם תִּרְפֹּשׂוּן׃

18 καὶ οὐχ ἱκανὸν ὑμῖν ὅτι τὴν καλὴν νομὴν ἐνέμεσθε, καὶ τὰ κατάλοιπα τῆς νομῆς ὑμῶν κατεπατεῖτε τοῖς ποσίν ὑμῶν· καὶ τὸ καθεστηκὸς ὕδωρ ἐπίνετε καὶ τὸ λοιπὸν τοῖς ποσίν ὑμῶν ἐταράσσετε·	18 καὶ οὐχ ἱκανὸν ὑμῖν ὅτι τὴν καλὴν νομὴν ἐνέμεσθε, καὶ τὰ κατάλοιπα τῆς νομῆς ὑμῶν κατεπατεῖτε τοῖς ποσὶν ὑμῶν; καὶ τὸ καθεστηκὸς ὕδωρ ἐπίνετε, καὶ τὸ λοιπὸν τοῖς ποσὶν ὑμῶν ἐταράσσετε;

לָכֵן כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה אֲלֵיהֶם הִנְנִי ־ אָנִי וְשָׁפַטְתִּי בֵּין ־ שֶׂה בִרְיָה וּבֵין שֶׂה רָזָה׃

25 καὶ διαθήσομαι τῷ Δαυὶδ διαθήκην εἰρήνης καὶ ἀφανιῶ θηρία πονηρὰ ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς, καὶ κατοικήσουσιν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ καὶ ὑπνώσουσιν ἐν τοῖς δρυμοῖς.	25 καὶ διαθήσομαι τῷ Δαυὶδ διαθήκην εἰρήνης καὶ ἀφανιῶ θηρία πονηρὰ ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς, καὶ κατοικήσουσιν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ καὶ ὑπνώσουσιν ἐν τοῖς δρυμοῖς.

וְנָתַתִּי אֹותָם וּסְבִיבֹות גִּבְעָתִי בְּרָכָה וְהֹורַדְתִּי הַגֶּשֶׁם בְּעִתֹּו גִּשְׁמֵי בְרָכָה יִהְיוּ׃

27 καὶ τὰ ξύλα τὰ ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ δώσει τὸν καρπὸν αὐτῶν, καὶ ἡ γῆ δώσει τὴν ἰσχὺν αὐτῆς, καὶ κατοικήσουσιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς αὐτῶν ἐν ἐλπίδι εἰρήνης, καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ἐν τῷ συντρῖψαί με τὸν ζυγὸν αὐτῶν· καὶ ἐξελοῦμαι αὐτοὺς ἐκ χειρὸς τῶν καταδουλωσαμένων αὐτούς.	27 καὶ τὰ ξύλα τὰ ἐν τῷ πεδίῳ δώσει τὸν καρπὸν αὐτῶν, καὶ ἡ γῆ δώσει τὴν ἰσχὺν αὐτῆς, καὶ κατοικήσουσιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς αὐτῶν ἐν ἐλπίδι εἰρήνης, καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος ἐν τῷ συντρίψαι με τὸν ζυγὸν αὐτῶν· καὶ ἐξελοῦμαι αὐτοὺς ἐκ χειρὸς τῶν καταδουλωσαμένων αὐτούς.

28 καὶ οὐκ ἔσονται ἔτι ἐν προνομῇ τοῖς ἔθνεσιν, καὶ τὰ θηρία τῆς γῆς οὐκέτι μὴ φάγωσιν αὐτούς· καὶ κατοικήσουσιν ἐν ἐλπίδι, καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ ἐκφοβῶν αὐτούς.	28 καὶ οὐκ ἔσονται ἔτι ἐν προνομῇ τοῖς ἔθνεσι, καὶ τὰ θηρία τῆς γῆς οὐκέτι μὴ φάγωσιν αὐτούς· καὶ κατοικήσουσιν ἐν ἐλπίδι, καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ ἐκφοβῶν αὐτούς.

29 And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.

וַהֲקִמֹתִי לָהֶם מַטָּע לְשֵׁם וְלֹא ־ יִהְיוּ עֹוד אֲסֻפֵי רָעָב בָּאָרֶץ וְלֹא ־ יִשְׂאוּ עֹוד כְּלִמַּת הַגֹּויִם׃

29 καὶ ἀναστήσω αὐτοῖς φυτὸν εἰρήνης, καὶ οὐκέτι ἔσονται ἀπολλύμενοι λιμῷ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐνέγκωσιν ἔτι ὀνειδισμὸν ἐθνῶν.	29 καὶ ἀναστήσω αὐτοῖς φυτὸν εἰρήνης, καὶ οὐκέτι ἔσονται ἀπολλύμενοι λιμῷ ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ὀνειδισμὸν ἐθνῶν οὐ μὴ ἐνέγκωσιν ἔτι.
