Exodus

1 And Yahweh said to Moses, “Yet will I bring one plague more on Pharaoh, and on Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether.

וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל ־ מֹשֶׁה עֹוד נֶגַע אֶחָד אָבִיא עַל ־ פַּרְעֹה וְעַל ־ מִצְרַיִם אַחֲרֵי ־ כֵן יְשַׁלַּח אֶתְכֶם מִזֶּה כְּשַׁלְּחֹו כָּלָה גָּרֵשׁ יְגָרֵשׁ אֶתְכֶם מִזֶּה׃

1 Εἶπεν δὲ κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν ἔτι μίαν πληγὴν ἐπάξω ἐπὶ Φαραὼ καὶ ἐπ’ Αἴγυπτον, καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐξαποστελεῖ ὑμᾶς ἐντεῦθεν· ὅταν δὲ ἐξαποστέλλῃ ὑμᾶς, σὺν παντὶ ἐκβαλεῖ ὑμᾶς ἐκβολῇ.	1 Εἶπε δὲ Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν· ἔτι μίαν πληγὴν ἐγὼ ἐπάξω ἐπὶ Φαραὼ καὶ ἐπ’ Αἴγυπτον, καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐξαποστελεῖ ὑμᾶς ἐντεῦθεν· ὅταν δὲ ἐξαποστέλλῃ ὑμᾶς, σὺν παντὶ ἐκβαλεῖ ὑμᾶς ἐκβολῇ.

דַּבֶּר ־ נָא בְּאָזְנֵי הָעָם וְיִשְׁאֲלוּ אִישׁ מֵאֵת רֵעֵהוּ וְאִשָּׁה מֵאֵת רְעוּתָהּ כְּלֵי ־ כֶסֶף וּכְלֵי זָהָב׃

2 λάλησον οὖν κρυφῇ εἰς τὰ ὦτα τοῦ λαοῦ, καὶ αἰτησάτω ἕκαστος παρὰ τοῦ πλησίον καὶ γυνὴ παρὰ τῆς πλησίον σκεύη ἀργυρᾶ καὶ χρυσᾶ καὶ ἱματισμόν.	2 λάλησον οὖν κρυφῇ εἰς τὰ ὦτα τοῦ λαοῦ, καὶ αἰτησάτω ἕκαστος παρὰ τοῦ πλησίον σκεύη ἀργυρᾶ καὶ χρυσᾶ καὶ ἱματισμόν.

3 And Yahweh gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians. Moreover the man Moses was very great in the land of Egypt, in the sight of Pharaoh’s servants, and in the sight of the people.

וַיִּתֵּן יְהוָה אֶת ־ חֵן הָעָם בְּעֵינֵי מִצְרָיִם גַּם הָאִישׁ מֹשֶׁה גָּדֹול מְאֹד בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם בְּעֵינֵי עַבְדֵי ־ פַרְעֹה וּבְעֵינֵי הָעָם׃ ס

3 κύριος δὲ ἔδωκεν τὴν χάριν τῷ λαῷ αὐτοῦ ἐναντίον τῶν Αἰγυπτίων, καὶ ἔχρησαν αὐτοῖς· καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος Μωυσῆς μέγας ἐγενήθη σφόδρα ἐναντίον τῶν Αἰγυπτίων καὶ ἐναντίον Φαραὼ καὶ ἐναντίον πάντων τῶν θεραπόντων αὐτοῦ.	3 Κύριος δὲ ἔδωκε τὴν χάριν τῷ λαῷ αὐτοῦ ἐναντίον τῶν Αἰγυπτίων, καὶ ἔχρησαν αὐτοῖς· καὶ ὁ ἄνθρωπος Μωυσῆς μέγας ἐγενήθη σφόδρα ἐναντίον τῶν Αἰγυπτίων καὶ ἐναντίον Φαραὼ καὶ ἐναντίον τῶν θεραπόντων αὐτοῦ.

4 And Moses said, “Thus says Yahweh, ‘About midnight will I go out into the midst of Egypt.

וַיֹּאמֶר מֹשֶׁה כֹּה אָמַר יְהוָה כַּחֲצֹת הַלַּיְלָה אֲנִי יֹוצֵא בְּתֹוךְ מִצְרָיִם׃

4 καὶ εἶπεν Μωυσῆς τάδε λέγει κύριος περὶ μέσας νύκτας ἐγὼ εἰσπορεύομαι εἰς μέσον Αἰγύπτου,	4 Καὶ εἶπε Μωυσῆς· τάδε λέγει Κύριος· περὶ μέσας νύκτας ἐγὼ εἰσπορεύομαι εἰς μέσον Αἰγύπτου,

5 And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh that sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the female servant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts.

וּמֵת כָּל ־ בְּכֹור בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם מִבְּכֹור פַּרְעֹה הַיֹּשֵׁב עַל ־ כִּסְאֹו עַד בְּכֹור הַשִּׁפְחָה אֲשֶׁר אַחַר הָרֵחָיִם וְכֹל בְּכֹור בְּהֵמָה׃

5 καὶ τελευτήσει πᾶν πρωτότοκον ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ ἀπὸ πρωτοτόκου Φαραώ, ὃς κάθηται ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου, καὶ ἕως πρωτοτόκου τῆς θεραπαίνης τῆς παρὰ τὸν μύλον καὶ ἕως πρωτοτόκου παντὸς κτήνους,	5 καὶ τελευτήσει πᾶν πρωτότοκον ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ, ἀπὸ πρωτοτόκου Φαραώ, ὃς κάθηται ἐπὶ τοῦ θρόνου, καὶ ἕως πρωτοτόκου τῆς θεραπαίνης τῆς παρὰ τὸν μύλον καὶ ἕως πρωτοτόκου παντὸς κτήνους,

6 And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more.

וְהָיְתָה צְעָקָה גְדֹלָה בְּכָל ־ אֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם אֲשֶׁר כָּמֹהוּ לֹא נִהְיָתָה וְכָמֹהוּ לֹא תֹסִף׃

6 καὶ ἔσται κραυγὴ μεγάλη κατὰ πᾶσαν γῆν Αἰγύπτου, ἥτις τοιαύτη οὐ γέγονεν καὶ τοιαύτη οὐκέτι προστεθήσεται.	6 καὶ ἔσται κραυγὴ μεγάλη κατὰ πᾶσαν γῆν Αἰγύπτου, ἥτις τοιαύτη οὐ γέγονε καὶ τοιαύτη οὐκ ἔτι προστεθήσεται.

7 But against any of the sons of Israēl shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that you may know how that Yahweh puts a difference between the Egyptians and Israēl.

וּלְכֹל בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא יֶחֱרַץ ־ כֶּלֶב לְשֹׁנֹו לְמֵאִישׁ וְעַד ־ בְּהֵמָה לְמַעַן תֵּדְעוּן אֲשֶׁר יַפְלֶה יְהוָה בֵּין מִצְרַיִם וּבֵין יִשְׂרָאֵל׃

7 καὶ ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραὴλ οὐ γρύξει κύων τῇ γλώσσῃ αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπου ἕως κτήνους, ὅπως εἰδῇς ὅσα παραδοξάσει κύριος ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν Αἰγυπτίων καὶ τοῦ Ἰσραήλ.	7 καὶ ἐν πᾶσι τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἰσραὴλ οὐ γρύξει κύων τῇ γλώσσῃ αὐτοῦ ἀπὸ ἀνθρώπου ἕως κτήνους, ὅπως εἰδῇς ὅσα παραδοξάσει Κύριος ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν Αἰγυπτίων καί τοῦ Ἰσραήλ.

8 And all these your servants shall come down to me, and bow down themselves to me, saying, ‘Get you out, and all the people that follow you’; and after that I will go out.” And he went out from Pharaoh in a great anger.

וְיָרְדוּ כָל ־ עֲבָדֶיךָ אֵלֶּה אֵלַי וְהִשְׁתַּחֲוּוּ ־ לִי לֵאמֹר צֵא אַתָּה וְכָל ־ הָעָם אֲשֶׁר ־ בְּרַגְלֶיךָ וְאַחֲרֵי ־ כֵן אֵצֵא וַיֵּצֵא מֵעִם ־ פַּרְעֹה בָּחֳרִי ־ אָף׃ ס

8 καὶ καταβήσονται πάντες οἱ παῖδές σου οὗτοι πρός με καὶ προκυνήσουσίν με λέγοντες ἔξελθε σὺ καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαός σου, οὗ σὺ ἀφηγῇ· καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐξελεύσομαι. ἐξῆλθεν δὲ Μωυσῆς ἀπὸ Φαραὼ μετὰ θυμοῦ.	8 καὶ καταβήσονται πάντες οἱ παῖδές σου οὗτοι πρός με καὶ προσκυνήσουσί με λέγοντες· ἔξελθε σὺ καὶ πᾶς ὁ λαός σου, οὗ σύ ἀφηγῇ· καὶ μετὰ ταῦτα ἐξελεύσομαι. ἐξῆλθε δὲ Μωυσῆς ἀπὸ Φαραὼ μετὰ θυμοῦ.

9 And Yahweh said to Moses, “Pharaoh shall not listen to you; that my wonders may be multiplied in the land of Egypt.”

וַיֹּאמֶר יְהוָה אֶל ־ מֹשֶׁה לֹא ־ יִשְׁמַע אֲלֵיכֶם פַּרְעֹה לְמַעַן רְבֹות מֹופְתַי בְּאֶרֶץ מִצְרָיִם׃

9 εἶπεν δὲ κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν οὐκ εἰσακούσεται ὑμῶν Φαραώ, ἵνα πληθύνων πληθύνω μου τὰ σημεῖα καὶ τὰ τέρατα ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ.	9 εἶπε δὲ Κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν· οὐκ εἰσακούσεται ὑμῶν Φαραώ, ἵνα πληθύνων πληθυνῶ μου τὰ σημεῖα καὶ τὰ τέρατα ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ.

10 And Moses and Aaron did all these wonders before Pharaoh; and Yahweh hardened Pharaoh’s heart, so that he would not let the sons of Israēl go out of his land.

וּמֹשֶׁה וְאַהֲרֹן עָשׂוּ אֶת ־ כָּל ־ הַמֹּפְתִים הָאֵלֶּה לִפְנֵי פַרְעֹה וַיְחַזֵּק יְהוָה אֶת ־ לֵב פַּרְעֹה וְלֹא ־ שִׁלַּח אֶת ־ בְּנֵי ־ יִשְׂרָאֵל מֵאַרְצֹו׃ פ

10 Μωυσῆς δὲ καὶ Ἀαρὼν ἐποίησαν πάντα τὰ σημεῖα καὶ τὰ τέρατα ταῦτα ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ ἐναντίον Φαραώ· ἐσκλήρυνεν δὲ κύριος τὴν καρδίαν Φαραώ, καὶ οὐκ ἠθέλησεν ἐξαποστεῖλαι τοὺς υἱοὺς Ἰσραὴλ ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου.	10 Μωυσῆς δὲ καὶ Ἀαρὼν ἐποίησαν πάντα τὰ σημεῖα καὶ τὰ τέρατα ταῦτα ἐν γῇ Αἰγύπτῳ ἐναντίον Φαραώ· ἐσκλήρυνε δὲ Κύριος τὴν καρδίαν Φαραώ, καὶ οὐκ εἰσήκουσεν ἐξαποστεῖλαι τούς υἱοὺς Ἰσραὴλ ἐκ γῆς Αἰγύπτου.
10 So Moses and Aarōn did all these signs and these wonders in Aigypt’s land, before Pharaō.
