Hosea

1 The word of Yahweh that came to Hosea, the son of Beeri, in the days of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz, and Hezekiah, kings of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israēl.

1 Λόγος κυρίου, ὃς ἐγενήθη πρὸς Ὠσηὲ τὸν τοῦ Βεηρὶ ἐν ἡμέραις Ὀζίου καὶ Ἰωαθὰμ καὶ Ἀχὰζ καὶ Ἐζεκίου βασιλέων Ἰούδα καὶ ἐν ἡμέραις Ἰεροβοὰμ υἱοῦ Ἰωὰς βασιλέως Ἰσραήλ.	1 Λόγος Κυρίου, ὃς ἐγενήθη πρὸς Ὡσηὲ τὸν τοῦ Βεηρεὶ ἐν ἡμέραις Ὀζίου καὶ Ἰωάθαμ καὶ Ἄχαζ καὶ Ἐζεκίου βασιλέων Ἰούδα καὶ ἐν ἡμέραις Ἱεροβοὰμ υἱοῦ Ἰωὰς βασιλέως Ἰσραήλ.

2 The beginning of the word of Yahweh by Hosea. And Yahweh said to Hosea, Go, take to you a wife of prostitutions and children of prostitutions; for the land has committed great prostitution, departing from Yahweh.

2 ἀρχὴ λόγου κυρίου πρὸς Ὠσηέ· καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς Ὠσηὲ βάδιζε λαβὲ σεαυτῷ γυναῖκα πορνείας καὶ τέκνα πορνείας, διότι ἐκπορνεύουσα ἐκπορνεύσει ἡ γῆ ἀπὸ ὄπισθεν τοῦ κυρίου.	2 Ἀρχὴ λόγου Κυρίου εἰς Ὡσηέ. καὶ εἶπε Κύριος πρὸς Ὡσηέ· βάδιζε, λαβὲ σεαυτῷ γυναῖκα πορνείας καὶ τέκνα πορνείας, διότι ἐκπορνεύουσα ἐκπορνεύσει ἡ γῆ ἀπὸ ὄπισθεν τοῦ Κυρίου.
2 The beginning of the word of the Lord to Ōsēe. 3 So he went and took Gomer the daughter of Diblaim; which conceived, and gave birth to him a son.

3 καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἔλαβεν τὴν Γομὲρ θυγατέρα Δεβηλαίμ, καὶ συνέλαβεν καὶ ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ υἱόν.	3 καὶ ἐπορεύθης καί ἔλαβε τὴν Γόμερ θυγατέρα Δεβηλαΐμ, καὶ συνέλαβε καὶ ἔτεκεν αὐτῷ υἱόν.

4 And Yahweh said to him, Call his name Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will avenge the blood of Jezreel on the house of Jehu, and will cause to cease the kingdom of the house of Israēl.

4 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος πρὸς αὐτόν κάλεσον τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἰεζραέλ, διότι ἔτι μικρὸν καὶ ἐκδικήσω τὸ αἷμα τοῦ Ἰεζραὲλ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον Ἰοὺ καὶ καταπαύσω βασιλείαν οἴκου Ἰσραήλ·	4 καὶ εἶπε Κύριος πρὸς αὐτόν· κάλεσον τὸ ὄνομα αὐτοῦ Ἰεζραέλ, διότι ἔτι μικρὸν καὶ ἐκδικήσω τὸ αἷμα τοῦ Ἰεζραὲλ ἐπὶ τὸν οἶκον Ἰούδα καὶ καταπαύσω βασιλείαν οἴκου Ἰσραήλ.

6 And she conceived again, and gave birth to a daughter. And God said to him, Call her name Lo-ruhamah; for I will no more have mercy on the house of Israēl; but I will utterly take them away.

6 καὶ συνέλαβεν ἔτι καὶ ἔτεκεν θυγατέρα. καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ κάλεσον τὸ ὄνομα αὐτῆς Οὐκ-ἠλεημένη, διότι οὐ μὴ προσθήσω ἔτι ἐλεῆσαι τὸν οἶκον τοῦ Ἰσραήλ, ἀλλ’ ἢ ἀντιτασσόμενος ἀντιτάξομαι αὐτοῖς.	6 καὶ συνέλαβεν ἔτι καὶ ἔτεκε θυγατέρα, καὶ εἶπε αὐτῷ· κάλεσον τὸ ὄνομα αὐτῆς, Οὐκ-ἠλεημένη, διότι οὐ μὴ προσθήσω ἔτι ἐλεῆσαι τὸν οἶκον Ἰσραήλ, ἀλλ’ ἢ ἀντιτασσόμενος ἀντίζηλον αὐτοῖς.
6 And she conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. And he said to him, “Call her name No-Mercy, because I will no longer give mercy on the house of Israēl; but while resisting, I will resist them.	6 And she conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. 7 τοὺς δὲ υἱοὺς Ἰούδα ἐλεήσω καὶ σώσω αὐτοὺς ἐν κυρίῳ θεῷ αὐτῶν καὶ οὐ σώσω αὐτοὺς ἐν τόξῳ οὐδὲ ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ οὐδὲ ἐν πολέμῳ οὐδὲ ἐν ἅρμασιν οὐδὲ ἐν ἵπποις οὐδὲ ἐν ἱππεῦσιν.	7 τοὺς δὲ υἱοὺς Ἰούδα ἐλεήσω καὶ σώσω αὐτοὺς ἐν Κυρίῳ Θεῷ αὐτῶν καὶ οὐ σώσω αὐτοὺς ἐν τόξῳ οὐδὲ ἐν ῥομφαίᾳ οὐδὲ ἐν πολέμῳ οὐδὲ ἐν ἵπποις οὐδὲ ἐν ἱππεῦσι.

8 Now when she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived, and gave birth to a son.

8 καὶ ἀπεγαλάκτισεν τὴν Οὐκ-ἠλεημένην καὶ συνέλαβεν ἔτι καὶ ἔτεκεν υἱόν.	8 καὶ ἀπεγαλάκτισε τὴν Οὐκ-ἠλεημένην, καὶ συνέλαβεν ἔτι καὶ ἔτεκεν υἱόν.

9 Then said God, Call his name Lo-ammi; for you are not my people, and I won’t be your God.

10 [M 2:1] Yet the number of the sons of Israēl shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it will happen, that in the place where it was said to them, You are not my people, there it shall be said to them, You are the sons of the living God.

10 καὶ ἦν ὁ ἀριθμὸς τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ ὡς ἡ ἄμμος τῆς θαλάσσης, ἣ οὐκ ἐκμετρηθήσεται οὐδὲ ἐξαριθμηθήσεται· καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῷ τόπῳ, οὗ ἐρρέθη αὐτοῖς οὐ λαός μου ὑμεῖς, ἐκεῖ κληθήσονται υἱοὶ θεοῦ ζῶντος.	10 Καὶ ἦν ὁ ἀριθμὸς τῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραὴλ ὡς ἡ ἄμμος τῆς θαλάσσης, ἣ οὐκ ἐκμετρηθήσεται οὐδὲ ἐξαριθμηθήσεται. καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῷ τόπῳ, οὗ ἐρρέθη αὐτοῖς· οὐ λαός μου ὑμεῖς, κληθήσονται καὶ αὐτοὶ υἱοὶ Θεοῦ ζῶντος.

11 καὶ συναχθήσονται οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰούδα καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰσραὴλ ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ καὶ θήσονται ἑαυτοῖς ἀρχὴν μίαν καὶ ἀναβήσονται ἐκ τῆς γῆς, ὅτι μεγάλη ἡ ἡμέρα τοῦ Ἰεζραέλ.	11 καὶ συναχθήσονται υἱοὶ Ἰούδα καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ Ἰσραὴλ ἐπὶ τὸ αὐτὸ καὶ θήσονται ἑαυτοῖς ἀρχὴν μίαν καὶ ἀναβήσονται ἐκ τῆς γῆς, ὅτι μεγάλη ἡ ἡμέρα τοῦ Ἰεζραέλ.
