6 And the sons of Israēl continued to do what was evil before the Lord and served the female Baals and the Astarōth and the gods of Sidōn and the gods of Mōab and the gods of the sons of Ammōn and the gods of the allophyles. And they abandoned the Lord and were not subject to him. 6 And the sons of Israēl continued to do what was evil before the Lord and were subject to the Baals and the Astarōth and the gods of Arad and the gods of Sidōn and the gods of Mōab and the gods of the sons of Ammōn and the gods of Phylistines. And they abandoned the Lord and were not subject to him.

7 And the anger of Yahweh was hot against Israēl, and he sold them into the hands of the Philistines, and into the hands of the sons of Ammon.

7 And the Lord was angry with anger with Israēl, and he gave them up in the hand of allophyles and in the hand of the sons of Ammōn, 7 And the Lord was angry with anger with Israēl, and sold them into the hands of the Phylistines, and into the hand of the sons of Ammōn.

8 And that year they annoyed and oppressed the sons of Israēl for 18 years; all the sons of Israēl who were on the other side Jordan in the land of the Amorites, in Gilead.

8 and they undermined and crushed the sons of Israēl in that year for 18 years, all the sons of Israēl beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorrite in Galaadites. 8 and they oppressed and crushed the sons of Israēl at that time for 18 years, all the sons of Israēl who were beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorri, who is in Galaad.

9 Moreover the sons of Ammon also passed over Jordan to fight against Judah, and against Benjamin, and against the house of Ephraim; so that Israēl was sore distressed.

9 And the sons of Ammōn crossed the Jordan, to wage war both against Joudas and Benjamin and against the house of Ephraim, and the sons of Israēl were greatly distressed. 9 And the sons of Ammōn crossed the Jordan, to deploy against Joudas and Benjamin and against Ephraim, and Israēl was greatly distressed.

10 And the sons of Israēl cried to Yahweh, saying, “We have sinned against you, because we have both forsaken our God, and served Baals.”

10 And the sons of Israēl cried to the Lord, saying, “We have sinned against you, because we have abandoned our God and have served the female Baals.” 10 And the sons of Israēl called out to the Lord, saying, “We have sinned against you, because we have abandoned God and were enslaved to Baals.”

11 And Yahweh said to the sons of Israēl, “Didn’t I deliver you from the Egyptians, and from the Amorites, from the sons of Ammon, and from the Philistines?

11 And the Lord said to the sons of Israēl, “Didn’t the Aigyptians and the Amorrites and the sons of Ammōn and Mōab and the allophyles 11 And the Lord said to the sons of Israēl, “Was it not out of Aigypt and from the Amorrite and from the sons of Ammōn and from Phylistiim

12 When the Zidonians, and the Amalekites, and the Maonites, oppressed you; and you cried to me, I delivered you out of their hand.

12 καὶ Σιδώνιοι καὶ Μαδιὰμ καὶ Ἀμαλὴκ ἐξέθλιψαν ὑμᾶς;
12 καὶ Σιδωνίων καὶ Ἀμαλὴκ καὶ Μαδιάμ, οἳ ἔθλιψαν ὑμᾶς, καὶ ἐβοήσατε πρός με καὶ ἔσωσα ὑμᾶς ἐκ χειρὸς αὐτῶν;
12 and Sidōnians and Madiam and Amalēk oppress you? And you cried to me, and I delivered you out of their hand. 12 and Sidōnians and Amalēk and Madiam who oppressed you, and you called out to me, and I delivered you out of their hand?

13 Yet you have forsaken me, and served other gods. Therefore I will deliver you no more.

13 And you have abandoned me and served other gods; therefore I will not continue to deliver you. 13 And you have abandoned me and were enslaved to other gods; therefore I will not continue to deliver you.

14 Go and cry to the gods which you have chosen; let them deliver you in the time of your tribulation.”

14 Go away, and cry aloud to the gods whom you have chosen for yourselves, and let them deliver you in the time of your distress.” 14 Go, and call out to the gods whom you have chosen for yourselves, and let them deliver you in the time of your distress.”

15 And the sons of Israēl said to Yahweh, “We have sinned; do to us whatever seems good to you; only deliver us, please, this day.”

15 And the sons of Israēl said to the Lord, “We have sinned; do to us according to everything that is pleasing before you; only, Lord, deliver us in this day!” 15 And the sons of Israēl said to the Lord, “We have sinned; do to us according to everything that is good in your eyes; only, deliver us in this day!”

16 And they put away the strange gods from among them, and served Yahweh; and his soul was grieved for the misery of Israēl.

16 And they put away the foreign gods from their midst and served the Lord, and he was not well pleased with the people, and he was worried about the suffering of Israēl. 16 And they turned away the foreign gods from their midst and were enslaved to the Lord only, and his soul was diminished over the suffering of Israēl.

17 Then the sons of Ammon were gathered together, and encamped in Gilead. And the sons of Israēl assembled themselves together, and encamped in Mizpeh.

17 And the sons of Ammōn went up and encamped in Galaad, and the sons of Israēl went out and encamped at Massēfa. 17 And the sons of Ammōn went up and encamped in Galaad, and the sons of Israēl gathered and encamped at the lookout place.

18 And the people and princes of Gilead said one to another, “What man is he who will begin to fight against the sons of Ammon? He shall be head over all the inhabitants of Gilead.”

18 καὶ εἶπον οἱ ἄρχοντες τοῦ λαοῦ Γαλαὰδ ἀνὴρ πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ Τίς ἀνήρ, ὃς ἄρξεται πολεμῆσαι ἐν τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἀμμών;
18 καὶ εἶπον λαὸς οἱ ἄρχοντες Γαλαάδ, ἀνὴρ πρὸς τὸν πλησίον αὐτοῦ· τίς ἀνήρ, ὅστις ἄν ἄρξηται παρατάξασθαι πρὸς υἱοὺς Ἀμμών;
18 And the leaders of the people of Galaad said, a man to his companion, “What man is it who will begin to fight against the sons of Ammōn? He will also be for a head to all the inhabitants of Galaad.” 18 And the people, the leaders of Galaad, said, a man to his companion, “Who is the man who might begin to deploy troops against the sons of Ammōn? He will also be for a ruler to all the inhabitants of Galaad.”
