2 I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God; in him will I trust.

2 He shall say to the Lord, You are my helper and my refuge; my God; I will hope in him. 2 He shall say to the Lord, You are my helper and my refuge; my God; I will hope in him.

3 Surely he shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler, and from the noisome pestilence.

3 For he shall deliver you from the snare of the hunters, from every troublesome matter. 3 For he shall deliver you from the snare of the hunters, from every troublesome matter.

4 He shall cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you shall trust; his truth shall be your shield and buckler.

4 He shall overshadow you with his shoulders, and you shall trust under his wings; his truth shall cover you with a shield. 4 He shall overshadow you with his shoulders, and you shall trust under his wings; his truth shall cover you with a shield.

5 You shall not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flies by day;

5 You shall not be afraid of terror by night; nor of the arrow flying by day; 5 You shall not be afraid of terror by night; nor of the arrow flying by day;

6 Nor for the pestilence that walks in darkness; nor for the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

6 nor of the evil thing that walks in darkness; nor of calamity, and the evil spirit at noon-day. 6 nor of the evil thing that walks in darkness; nor of calamity, and the evil spirit at noon-day.

7 A thousand shall fall at your side, and 10,000 at your right hand; but it shall not come near you.

8 Only with your eyes you shall behold and see the reward of the wicked.

8 Only with your eyes you shall observe and see the reward of sinners. 8 Only with your eyes you shall observe and see the reward of sinners.

9 Because you have made Yahweh, who is my refuge, even the most High, your habitation;

9 For you, Oh Lord, are my hope; you, my soul, have made the Most High your refuge. 9 For you, Oh Lord, are my hope; you, my soul, have made the Most High your refuge.

10 There shall no evil befall you, neither shall any plague come near your dwelling.

10 No evils shall come on you, and no scourge shall draw night to your dwelling. 10 No evils shall come on you, and no scourge shall draw night to your dwelling.

11 For he shall give his angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways.

11 For he shall give his angels charge concerning you, to keep you in all your ways. 11 For he shall give his angels charge concerning you, to keep you in all your ways.

12 They shall bear you up in their hands, lest you dash your foot against a stone.

12 They shall bear you up on their hands, lest at any time you dash your foot against a stone. 12 They shall bear you up on their hands, lest at any time you dash your foot against a stone.

13 You shall tread on the lion and adder; the young lion and the dragon you shall trample under feet.

13 You shall tread on the asp and basilisk; and you shall trample on the lion and dragon. 13 You shall tread on the asp and basilisk; and you shall trample on the lion and dragon.

14 Because he has set his love on me, therefore will I deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known my name.

14 For he has hoped in me, and I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he has known my name. 14 For he has hoped in me, and I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he has known my name.

15 He shall call on me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.

15 He shall call on me, and I will listen to him; I am with him in affliction; and I will deliver him, and glorify him. 15 He shall call on me, and I will listen to him; I am with him in affliction; and I will deliver him, and glorify him.

16 With long life will I satisfy him, and show him my salvation.

16 I will satisfy him with length of days, and show him my salvation. 16 I will satisfy him with length of days, and show him my salvation.
