1 And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem.

2 And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest you help the ungodly, and love those who hate Yahweh? therefore is wrath on you from before Yahweh.

2 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν εἰς ἀπάντησιν αὐτοῦ Ἰοὺ ὁ τοῦ Ἁνανὶ ὁ προφήτης καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ βασιλεῦ Ἰωσαφάτ, εἰ ἁμαρτωλῷ σὺ βοηθεῖς ἢ μισουμένῳ ὑπὸ κυρίου φιλιάζεις; διὰ τοῦτο ἐγένετο ἐπὶ σὲ ὀργὴ παρὰ κυρίου·	2 καὶ ἐξῆλθεν εἰς ἀπάντησιν αὐτοῦ Ἰοὺ ὁ τοῦ Ἀνανὶ ὁ προφήτης καὶ εἶπε αὐτῷ· βασιλεῦ Ἰωσαφάτ, εἰ ἁμαρτωλῷ σὺ βοηθεῖς ἢ μισουμένῳ ὑπὸ Κυρίου φιλιάζεις; διὰ τοῦτο ἐγένετο ἐπὶ σὲ ὀργὴ παρὰ Κυρίου·

3 Nevertheless there are good things found in you, in that you have taken away the groves out of the land, and have prepared your heart to seek God.

3 ἀλλ’ ἢ λόγοι ἀγαθοὶ ηὑρέθησαν ἐν σοί, ὅτι ἐξῆρας τὰ ἄλση ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς Ἰούδα καὶ κατηύθυνας τὴν καρδίαν σου ἐκζητῆσαι τὸν κύριον.	3 ὅτι ἀλλ’ ἢ λόγοι ἀγαθοὶ εὑρέθησαν ἐν σοί, ὅτι ἐξῇρας τὰ ἄλση ἀπὸ τῆς γῆς Ἰούδα καὶ κατηύθυνας τὴν καρδίαν σου ἐκζητῆσαι τὸν Κύριον.

4 And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem; and he went out again through the people from Beer-sheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back to Yahweh Elohim of their fathers.

4 καὶ κατῴκησεν Ἰωσαφὰτ ἐν Ἱερουσαλὴμ καὶ πάλιν ἐξῆλθεν εἰς τὸν λαὸν ἀπὸ Βηρσαβεὲ ἕως ὄρους Ἐφραὶμ καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ κύριον θεὸν τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν.	4 καὶ κατῴκησεν Ἰωσαφὰτ ἐν Ἱερουσαλὴμ καὶ πάλιν ἐξῆλθεν εἰς τὸν λαὸν ἀπὸ Βηρσαβεὲ ἕως ὄρους Ἐφραὶμ καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν αὐτοὺς ἐπὶ Κύριον Θεὸν τῶν πατέρων αὐτῶν.

5 And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city,

6 And said to the judges, Take heed what you do; for you judge not for man, but for Yahweh, who is with you in the judgment.

6 καὶ εἶπεν τοῖς κριταῖς ἴδετε τί ὑμεῖς ποιεῖτε, ὅτι οὐκ ἀνθρώπῳ ὑμεῖς κρίνετε, ἀλλ’ ἢ τῷ κυρίῳ, καὶ μεθ’ ὑμῶν λόγοι τῆς κρίσεως·	6 καὶ εἶπε τοῖς κριταῖς· ἴδετε τί ὑμεῖς ποιεῖτε, ὅτι οὐκ ἀνθρώπῳ ὑμεῖς κρίνετε, ἀλλ’ ἢ τῷ Κυρίῳ, καὶ μεθ’ ὑμῶν λόγοι τῆς κρίσεως·

7 Therefore now let the fear of Yahweh be on you; take heed and do it; for there is no iniquity with Yahweh our Elohim, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts.

7 καὶ νῦν γενέσθω φόβος κυρίου ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς, καὶ φυλάσσετε καὶ ποιήσετε, ὅτι οὐκ ἔστιν μετὰ κυρίου θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἀδικία οὐδὲ θαυμάσαι πρόσωπον οὐδὲ λαβεῖν δῶρα.	7 καὶ νῦν γενέσθω φόβος Κυρίου ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς, καὶ φυλάσσετε καὶ ποιήσατε, ὅτι οὐκ ἔστι μετὰ Κυρίου Θεοῦ ἡμῶν ἀδικία, οὐδὲ θαυμάσαι πρόσωπον οὐδὲ λαβεῖν δῶρα.

8 Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israēl, for the judgment of Yahweh, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem.

8 καὶ γὰρ ἐν Ἱερουσαλὴμ κατέστησεν Ἰωσαφὰτ τῶν ἱερέων καὶ τῶν Λευιτῶν καὶ τῶν πατριαρχῶν Ἰσραὴλ εἰς κρίσιν κυρίου καὶ κρίνειν τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν Ἱερουσαλήμ.	8 καί γε ἐν Ἱερουσαλὴμ κατέστησεν Ἰωσαφὰτ τῶν ἱερέων καὶ τῶν Λευιτῶν καὶ τῶν πατριαρχῶν Ἰσραὴλ εἰς κρίσιν Κυρίου, καὶ κρίνειν τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν Ἱερουσαλήμ.

9 And he charged them, saying, Thus you shall do in the fear of Yahweh, faithfully, and with a perfect heart.

10 And whatever cause shall come to you of your brothers that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, you shall even warn those who they trespass not against Yahweh, and so wrath come on you, and on your brothers: this do, and you shall not trespass.

10 πᾶς ἀνὴρ κρίσιν τὴν ἐλθοῦσαν ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς τῶν ἀδελφῶν ὑμῶν τῶν κατοικούντων ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν αὐτῶν ἀνὰ μέσον αἵματος αἷμα καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον προστάγματος καὶ ἐντολῆς καὶ δικαιώματα καὶ κρίματα καὶ διαστελεῖσθε αὐτοῖς, καὶ οὐχ ἁμαρτήσονται τῷ κυρίῳ, καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς ὀργὴ καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν· οὕτως ποιήσετε καὶ οὐχ ἁμαρτήσεσθε.	10 πᾶς ἀνὴρ κρίσιν τὴν ἐλθοῦσαν ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς τῶν ἀδελφῶν ὑμῶν τῶν κατοικούντων ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν αὐτῶν ἀνὰ μέσον αἷμα αἵματος καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον τοῦ προστάγματος καὶ ἐντολῆς καὶ δικαιώματα καὶ κρίματα καὶ διαστελεῖσθε αὐτοῖς, καὶ οὐχ ἁμαρτήσονται τῷ Κυρίῳ, καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὀργὴ ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς καὶ ἐπὶ τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν· οὕτω ποιήσετε καὶ οὐχ ἁμαρτήσεσθε.

11 And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of Yahweh; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king’s matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and Yahweh shall be with the good.

11 καὶ ἰδοὺ Ἀμαρίας ὁ ἱερεὺς ἡγούμενος ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς εἰς πᾶν λόγον κυρίου καὶ Ζαβδιὰς υἱὸς Ἰσμαὴλ ὁ ἡγούμενος εἰς οἶκον Ἰούδα πρὸς πᾶν λόγον βασιλέως καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς καὶ οἱ Λευῖται πρὸ προσώπου ὑμῶν· ἰσχύσατε καὶ ποιήσατε, καὶ ἔσται κύριος μετὰ τοῦ ἀγαθοῦ.	11 καὶ ἰδοὺ Ἁμαρίας ὁ ἱερεὺς ἡγούμενος ἐφ’ ὑμᾶς εἰς πάντα λόγον Κυρίου καὶ Ζαβδίας υἱὸς Ἰσμαὴλ ὁ ἡγούμενος εἰς οἶκον Ἰούδα πρὸς πάντα λόγον βασιλέως καὶ οἱ γραμματεῖς καὶ οἱ Λευῖται πρὸ προσώπου ὑμῶν· ἰσχύσατε καὶ ποιήσατε, καὶ ἔσται Κύριος μετὰ τοῦ ἀγαθοῦ.
