1 [M 4:14] Now gather yourself in troops, Oh daughter of troops: he has laid siege against us: they shall smite the judge of Israēl with a rod on the cheek.

2 [M 5:1] But you, Bethlehem Ephratah, though you be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of you he shall come forth to me that is to be ruler in Israēl; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.

3 [M 5:2] Therefore will he give them up, until the time that she who travails has brought forth: then the remnant of his brothers shall return to the sons of Israēl.

4 [M 5:3] And he shall stand and feed in the strength of Yahweh, in the majesty of the name of Yahweh his God; and they shall abide; for now he shall be great to the ends of the earth.

4 And he shall stand and see and tend his flock in the strength of the Lord. 5 [M 5:4] And this man shall be the peace, when the Assyrian shall come into our land; and when he shall tread in our palaces, then shall we raise against him seven shepherds, and eight principal men.

5 καὶ ἔσται αὕτη εἰρήνη· ὅταν Ἀσσύριος ἐπέλθῃ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ὑμῶν καὶ ὅταν ἐπιβῇ ἐπὶ τὴν χώραν ὑμῶν, καὶ ἐπεγερθήσονται ἐπ’ αὐτὸν ἑπτὰ ποιμένες καὶ ὀκτὼ δήγματα ἀνθρώπων·	5 καὶ ἔσται αὕτη εἰρήνη· ὅταν Ἀσσύριος ἐπέλθῃ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν ὑμῶν καὶ ὅταν ἐπιβῇ ἐπὶ τὴν χώραν ὑμῶν, καὶ ἐπεγερθήσονται ἐπ’ αὐτὸν ἑπτὰ ποιμένες καὶ ὀκτὼ δήγματα ἀνθρώπων·
5 and this shall be peace. 6 [M 5:5] And they shall waste the land of Assyria with the sword, and the land of Nimrod in the entrances of it: thus he shall deliver us from the Assyrian, when he comes into our land, and when he treads within our borders.

7 [M 5:6] And the remnant of Jacōb shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from Yahweh, as the showers on the grass, that tarries not for man, nor waits for the sons of men.

8 [M 5:7] And the remnant of Jacōb shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treads down, and tears in pieces, and none can deliver.

8 καὶ ἔσται τὸ ὑπόλειμμα τοῦ Ἰακὼβ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν ἐν μέσῳ λαῶν πολλῶν ὡς λέων ἐν κτήνεσιν ἐν τῷ δρυμῷ καὶ ὡς σκύμνος ἐν ποιμνίοις προβάτων, ὃν τρόπον ὅταν διέλθῃ καὶ διαστείλας ἁρπάσῃ καὶ μὴ ᾖ ὁ ἐξαιρούμενος.	8 καὶ ἔσται τὸ ὑπόλειμμα Ἰακὼβ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν ἐν μέσῳ λαῶν πολλῶν ὡς λέων ἐν κτήνεσι ἐν τῷ δρυμῷ καὶ ὡς σκύμνος ἐν ποιμνίοις προβάτων, ὃν τρόπον ὅταν διέλθῃ καὶ διαστείλας ἁρπάσῃ καὶ μὴ ᾖ ὁ ἐξαιρούμενος.

9 [M 5:8] Your hand shall be lifted up on your adversaries, and all your enemies shall be cut off.

10 [M 5:9] And it will happen in that day, says Yahweh, that I will cut off your horses out of the midst of you, and I will destroy your chariots.

11 [M 5:10] And I will cut off the cities of your land, and throw down all your strong holds.

12 [M 5:11] And I will cut off witchcrafts out of your hand; and you shall have no more soothsayers.

12 καὶ ἐξαρῶ τὰ φάρμακά σου ἐκ τῶν χειρῶν σου, καὶ ἀποφθεγγόμενοι οὐκ ἔσονται ἐν σοί·	12 καὶ ἐξαρῶ τὰ φάρμακά σου ἐκ τῶν χειρῶν σου, καὶ ἀποφθεγγόμενοι οὐκ ἔσονται ἐν σοί·

13 [M 5:12] Your carved images also will I cut off, and your standing images out of the midst of you; and you shall no more worship the work of your hands.

13 καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσω τὰ γλυπτά σου καὶ τὰς στήλας σου ἐκ μέσου σου, καὶ οὐκέτι μὴ προσκυνήσῃς τοῖς ἔργοις τῶν χειρῶν σου·	13 καὶ ἐξολοθρεύσω τὰ γλυπτά σου καὶ τὰς στήλας σου ἐκ μέσου σου, καὶ οὐκέτι μὴ προσκυνήσῃς τοῖς ἔργοις τῶν χειρῶν σου·

14 [M 5:13] And I will pluck up your groves out of the midst of you; so will I destroy your cities.

15 [M 5:14] And I will execute vengeance in anger and fury on the heathen, such as they haven’t heard.
