24 And if the way is too long for you, so that you are not able to carry it; or if the place is too far from you, which Yahweh your Elohim shall choose to set his name there, when Yahweh your Elohim has blessed you,

25 you shall sell them for money and take the money in your hands and go to the place, that which your Lord God may choose it, 25 you shall sell them for money and take the money in your hands and go to the place, that which your Lord God may choose it,

26 And you shall bestow that money for whatever your soul desires, for oxen, or for sheep, or for wine, or for beer, or for whatever your soul desires; and you shall eat there before Yahweh your Elohim, and you shall rejoice, you, and your household,

26 and you shall give the money for whatever your soul may desire–for oxen or for sheep, for wine or for beer or for whatever your soul desires. And you shall eat there in the presence of your Lord God, and you and your household shall be joyful, 26 and you shall give the money for whatever your soul may desire–for oxen or for sheep, for wine or for beer or for whatever your soul desires. And you shall eat there in the presence of your Lord God, and you and your household shall be joyful,

27 and the Levite that is within your gates; you shall not forsake him; for he has no part nor inheritance with you.

28 At the end of three years you shall bring forth all the tithe of your increase the same year, and shall lay it up within your gates.

28 After three years you shall carry out every tithe of your yield; in that year, you shall put it within your cities, 28 After three years you shall carry out every tithe of your yield; in that year, you shall put it within your cities,

29 And the Levite, (because he has no part nor inheritance with you,) and the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, who are within your gates, shall come, and shall eat and be satisfied; that Yahweh your Elohim may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.”

29 and the Levite shall come, because he has no part or allotment with you, and the immigrant and the orphan and the widow in your cities, and they shall eat and shall be satisfied so that your Lord God may bless you in all the works whatever you may do. 29 and the Levite shall come, because he has no part or allotment with you, and the immigrant and the orphan and the widow in your cities, and they shall eat and shall be satisfied so that your Lord God may bless you in all the works whatever you may do.

[1]obscure Greek word which could indicate a purification rite

[2]holy doesn’t mean sinless, but people who have access to God

[3]The giraffe was actually an unclean animal; the Hebrew word refers to a mountain sheep or goat not a giraffe (and certainly not a chamois which is not found in any Bible land)
