1 [LM 13:2] “If there arises among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and he gives you a sign or a wonder,

3 [LM 13:4] you shall not listen to the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams; for Yahweh your Elohim tests you, to know whether you love Yahweh your Elohim with all your heart and with all your soul.

4 [LM 13:5] You shall walk after Yahweh your Elohim, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and you shall serve him, and cling to him.

4 [LM 13:5] ὀπίσω κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν πορεύεσθε καὶ αὐτὸν φοβηθήσεσθε καὶ τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ φυλάξεσθε καὶ τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ ἀκούσεσθε καὶ αὐτῷ προστεθήσεσθε.	4 [LM 13:5] ὀπίσω Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ ὑμῶν πορεύσεσθε καὶ τοῦτον φοβηθήσεσθε καὶ τῆς φωνῆς αὐτοῦ ἀκούσεσθε καὶ αὐτῷ προστεθήσεσθε.

5 [LM 13:6] And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; because he has spoken to turn you away from Yahweh your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, to thrust you out of the way which Yahweh your Elohim commanded you to walk in. So you shall put the evil away from the midst of you.

5 [LM 13:6] And that prophet or that diviner by dream shall die, for he spoke to lead you astray from your Lord God who brought you out of the land of Aigypt, who redeemed you from slavery to thrust you from the way that your Lord God commanded you to go on it. 6 [LM 13:7] If your brother, the son of your mother, or your son, or your daughter, or the wife of your bosom, or your friend, who is as your own soul, entices you secretly, saying, ‘Let’s go and serve other gods,’ which you haven’t known, you, nor your fathers;

7 [LM 13:8] ἀπὸ τῶν θεῶν τῶν ἐθνῶν τῶν περικύκλῳ ὑμῶν τῶν ἐγγιζόντων σοί ἢ τῶν μακρὰν ἀπὸ σου ἀπ’ ἄκρου τῆς γῆς ἕως ἄκρου τῆς γῆς,	7 [LM 13:8] ἀπὸ τῶν θεῶν τῶν ἐθνῶν τῶν περικύκλῳ ὑμῶν, τῶν ἐγγιζόντων σοι ἢ τῶν μακρὰν ἀπὸ σοῦ, ἀπ’ ἄκρου τῆς γῆς ἕως ἄκρου τῆς γῆς,

8 [LM 13:9] you shall not consent to him, nor listen to him; neither shall your eye pity him, neither shall you spare, neither shall you conceal him.

8 [LM 13:9] οὐ συνθελήσεις αὐτῷ καὶ οὐκ εἰσακούσῃ αὐτοῦ, καὶ οὐ φείσεται ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου ἐπ’ αὐτῷ, οὐκ ἐπιποθήσεις ἐπ’ αὐτῷ οὐδ’ οὐ μὴ σκεπάσῃς αὐτόν·	8 [LM 13:9] οὐ συνθελήσεις αὐτῷ καὶ οὐκ εἰσακούσῃ αὐτοῦ καὶ οὐ φείσεται ὁ ὀφθαλμός σου ἐπ’ αὐτῷ, οὐκ ἐπιποθήσεις ἐπ’ αὐτῷ οὐδ’ οὐ μὴ σκεπάσῃς αὐτόν·
8 [LM 13:9] you shall not yield to him and listen to him. 9 [LM 13:10] But you shall surely kill him; your hand shall be first on him to put him to death, and afterwards the hand of all the people.

9 [LM 13:10] ἀναγγέλλων ἀναγγελεῖς περὶ αὐτοῦ, αἱ χεῖρές σου ἔσονται ἐπ’ αὐτὸν ἐν πρώτοις ἀποκτεῖναι αὐτόν, καὶ αἱ χεῖρες παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ ἐπ’ ἐσχάτῳ,	9 [LM 13:10] ἀναγγέλλων ἀναγγελεῖς περὶ αὐτοῦ, καὶ αἱ χεῖρές σου ἔσονται ἐπ’ αὐτὸν ἐν πρώτοις ἀποκτεῖναι αὐτόν, καὶ αἱ χεῖρες παντὸς τοῦ λαοῦ ἐπ’ ἐσχάτῳ,

10 [LM 13:11] And you shall stone him with stones, that he dies; because he has sought to thrust you away from Yahweh your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

12 [LM 13:13] If you hear someone say in one of your cities, which Yahweh your Elohim has given you to dwell there, saying,

13 [LM 13:14] certain men, the children of Belial, are gone out from among you, and have withdrawn the inhabitants of their city, saying, ‘Let’s go and serve other gods,’ which you haven’t known;

13 [LM 13:14] ἐξήλθοσαν ἄνδρες παράνομοι ἐξ ὑμῶν καὶ ἀπέστησαν πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν πόλιν αὐτῶν λέγοντες πορευθῶμεν καὶ λατρεύσωμεν θεοῖς ἑτέροις, οὓς οὐκ ᾔδειτε,	13 [LM 13:14] ἐξήλθοσαν ἄνδρες παράνομοι ἐξ ὑμῶν καὶ ἀπέστησαν πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας τὴν γῆν αὐτῶν λέγοντες· πορευθῶμεν καὶ λατρεύσωμεν θεοῖς ἑτέροις, οὓς οὐκ ᾔδειτε,

14 [LM 13:15] then you shall inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and, behold, if it is true, and certain, that such abomination is done among you;

15 [LM 13:16] you shall surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, destroying it utterly, and all that is in it, and the cattle of it, with the edge of the sword.

15 [LM 13:16] ἀναιρῶν ἀνελεῖς πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν τῇ πόλει ἐκείνῃ ἐν φόνῳ μαχαίρας, ἀναθέματι ἀναθεματιεῖτε αὐτὴν καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐν αὐτῇ	15 [LM 13:16] ἀναιρῶν ἀνελεῖς πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν τῇ γῇ ἐκείνῃ ἐν φόνῳ μαχαίρας, ἀναθέματι ἀναθεματιεῖτε αὐτὴν καὶ πάντα τὰ ἐν αὐτῇ

16 [LM 13:17] And you shall gather all the plunder of it into the middle of the city square, and you shall burn the city and all its plunder with fire as a whole burnt offering for Yahweh your Elohim. And it shall be a heap forever; it shall not be built again.

16 [LM 13:17] καὶ πάντα τὰ σκῦλα αὐτῆς συνάξεις εἰς τὰς διόδους αὐτῆς καὶ ἐμπρήσεις τὴν πόλιν ἐν πυρὶ καὶ πάντα τὰ σκῦλα αὐτῆς πανδημεὶ ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου, καὶ ἔσται ἀοίκητος εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, οὐκ ἀνοικοδομηθήσεται ἔτι.	16 [LM 13:17] καὶ πάντα τὰ σκῦλα αὐτῆς συνάξεις εἰς τὰς διόδους αὐτῆς καὶ ἐμπρήσεις τὴν πόλιν ἐν πυρὶ καὶ πάντα τὰ σκῦλα αὐτῆς πανδημεὶ ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ σου, καὶ ἔσται ἀοίκητος εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, οὐκ ἀνοικοδομηθήσεται ἔτι.

17 [LM 13:18] And there shall cling nothing of the cursed thing on your hand; so that Yahweh may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and show you mercy, and have mercy on you, and multiply you, as he has sworn to your fathers;

17 [LM 13:18] οὐ προσκολληθήσεται ἐν τῇ χειρί σου οὐδὲν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀναθέματος, ἵνα ἀποστραφῇ κύριος ἀπὸ θυμοῦ τῆς ὀργῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ δώσει σοί ἔλεος καὶ ἐλεήσει σὲ καὶ πληθυνεῖ σε, ὃν τρόπον ὤμοσεν κύριος τοῖς πατράσιν σου,	17 [LM 13:18] καὶ οὐ προσκολληθήσεται οὐδὲν ἀπὸ τοῦ ἀναθέματος ἐν τῇ χειρί σου, ἵνα ἀποστραφῇ Κύριος ἀπὸ θυμοῦ τῆς ὀργῆς αὐτοῦ καὶ δώσῃ σοι ἔλεος καὶ ἐλεήσῃ σε καὶ πληθύνῃ σε, ὃν τρόπον ὤμοσε τοῖς πατράσι σου,

18 [LM 13:19] when you shall listen to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim, to keep all his commandments which I command you this day, to do what is right in the eyes of Yahweh your Elohim.”

18 [LM 13:19] ἐὰν ἀκούσῃς τῆς φωνῆς κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου φυλάσσειν πάσας τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ, ὅσας ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοί σήμερον, ποιεῖν τὸ καλὸν καὶ τὸ ἀρεστὸν ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ σου.	18 [LM 13:19] ἐὰν ἀκούσῃς τῆς φωνῆς Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ σου, φυλάσσειν τὰς ἐντολὰς αὐτοῦ, ὅσας ἐγὼ ἐντέλλομαί σοι σήμερον, ποιεῖν τὸ καλὸν καὶ τὸ ἀρεστὸν ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ σου.
