Deuteronomy

1 “These are the statutes and judgments, which you shall observe to do in the land, which Yahweh Elohim of your fathers gives you to possess, all the days that you live on the earth.

2 You shall utterly destroy all the places in which the nations which you shall possess served their gods, on the high mountains, and on the hills, and under every green tree.

3 And you shall overthrow their altars, and break their monuments, and burn their good luck pillars with fire; and you shall hack down the carved images of their gods, and destroy the names of them out of that place.

5 But to the place which Yahweh your Elohim shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there, even to his habitation you shall seek, and you shall come to that place.

7 And there you shall eat before Yahweh your Elohim, and you shall rejoice in all that you put your hand unto, you and your households, in which Yahweh your Elohim has blessed you.

7 καὶ φάγεσθε ἐκεῖ ἐναντίον κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ὑμῶν καὶ εὐφρανθήσεσθε ἐπὶ πᾶσιν, οὗ ἄν τὴν χεῖρα ἐπιβάλητε, ὑμεῖς καὶ οἱ οἶκοι ὑμῶν, καθότι εὐλόγησέν σὲ κύριος ὁ θεός σου.	7 καὶ φάγεσθε ἐκεῖ ἐναντίον Κυρίου τοῦ Θεοῦ ὑμῶν καὶ εὐφρανθήσεσθε ἐπὶ πᾶσιν, οὗ ἐὰν ἐπιβάλητε τὴν χεῖρα, ὑμεῖς καὶ οἱ οἶκοι ὑμῶν, καθότι εὐλόγησέ σε Κύριος ὁ Θεός σου.

8 You shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man doing whatever is right in his own eyes.

10 But when you go over Jordan, and dwell in the land which Yahweh your Elohim gives you to inherit, and when he gives you rest from all your enemies all around, so that you dwell in safety;

11 then there shall be a place which Yahweh your Elohim shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; to that place you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which you vow to Yahweh.

12 And you shall rejoice before Yahweh your Elohim, you, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that is within your gates; since he has no part nor inheritance with you.

13 Be careful that you don’t offer your burnt offerings in every place that you see.

15 However you may kill and eat meat in all your gates, whatever your soul desires, according to the blessing of Yahweh your Elohim which he has given you; the unclean and the clean may eat of it, such as the gazelle and the deer.

16 Only you shall not eat the blood; you shall pour it on the earth like water.

17 You may not eat within your gates the tithe of your grain, or of your wine, or of your oil, or the first born ones of your herds or of your flock, nor any of your vows which you vow, nor your freewill offerings, or heave offering of your hand.

18 But you must eat them before Yahweh your Elohim in the place which Yahweh your Elohim shall choose, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your male servant, and your female servant, and the Levite who is within your gates; and you shall rejoice before Yahweh your Elohim in all that you put your hands to.

19 Be careful that you don’t forsake the Levite as long as you live on the earth.

20 When Yahweh your Elohim shall enlarge your border, as he has promised you, and you shall say, ‘I will eat meat,’ because your soul longs to eat meat; you may eat meat, whatever your soul desires.

20 ἐὰν δὲ ἐμπλατύνῃ κύριος ὁ θεός σου, τὰ ὅριά σου καθάπερ ἐλάλησέν σοι, καὶ ἐρεῖς φάγομαι κρέα, ἐὰν ἐπιθυμήσῃ ἡ ψυχή σου ὥστε φαγεῖν κρέα, ἐν πάσῃ ἐπιθυμίᾳ τῆς ψυχῆς σου φάγῃ κρέα.	20 Ἐὰν δὲ ἐμπλατύνῃ Κύριος ὁ Θεός σου τὰ ὅριά σου, καθάπερ ἐλάλησέ σοι, καὶ ἐρεῖς· φάγομαι κρέα, ἐὰν ἐπιθυμήσῃ ἡ ψυχή σου ὥστε φαγεῖν κρέα, ἐν πάσῃ ἐπιθυμίᾳ τῆς ψυχῆς σου φαγῇ κρέα.
