| 1 καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Τωβίας τὸν Ῥαφαὴλ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ | 1 τότε ἐκάλεσεν Τωβίας Ῥαφαὴλ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ |
| 1 Then Tōbias called Raphaēl, and said unto him, | Then Tōbias called Raphaēl and said to him, |
| 2 Ἀζαριά ἄδελφε, λαβὲ μετὰ σεαυτοῦ παῖδα καὶ δύο καμήλους καὶ πορεύθητι ἐν Ῥάγοις τῆς Μηδίας παρὰ Γαβαὴλ καὶ κόμισαί μοι τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ αὐτὸν ἄγε εἰς τὸν γάμον· | 2 Ἀζαριά ἄδελφε παράλαβε μετὰ σεαυτοῦ τέσσαρας οἰκέτας καὶ καμήλους δύο καὶ πορεύθητι εἰς Ῥάγας καὶ ἧκε παρὰ Γαβαήλῳ καὶ δὸς αὐτῷ τὸ χειρόγραφον καὶ κόμισαι τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ παράλαβε αὐτὸν μετὰ σοῦ εἰς τοὺς γάμους |
| 2 Brother Azarias, take with you a servant, and two camels, and go to Rhaga of Mēdia to Gabaēl, and bring me the money, and bring him to the wedding. | “Brother Azarias, take with you four domestics and two camels, and go to Rhagai. And go to the house of Gabaēl, and give him the bond, and get the silver, and then bring him back with you to the wedding feast. |
| 3 διότι ὀμώμοκεν Ῥαγουὴλ μὴ ἐξελθεῖν με, 4 καὶ ὁ πατήρ μου ἀριθμεῖ τὰς ἡμέρας καὶ ἐὰν χρονίσω μέγα, ὀδυνηθήσεται λίαν. | 3-4 σὺ γὰρ γινώσκεις ὅτι ἔσται ἀριθμῶν ὁ πατὴρ τὰς ἡμέρας καὶ ἐὰν χρονίσω ἡμέραν μίαν λυπήσω αὐτὸν λίαν καὶ θεωρεῖς τί ὤμοσεν Ῥαγουὴλ καὶ οὐ δύναμαι παραβῆναι τὸν ὅρκον αὐτοῦ |
| 3 For Ragouēl hath sworn that I shall not depart. 4 But my father counteth the days; and if I tarry long, he will be very sorry. | For you know that my father is counting the days, and if I delay one day, I will grieve him very much. And you see how Ragouēl has sworn, and I cannot violate his oath.” |
| 5 καὶ ἐπορεύθη Ῥαφαὴλ καὶ ηὐλίσθη παρὰ Γαβαήλῳ, καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ τὸ χειρόγραφον· ὃς δὲ προήνεγκεν τὰ θυλάκια ἐν ταῖς σφραγῖσιν καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ. | 5 καὶ ἐπορεύθη Ῥαφαὴλ καὶ οἱ τέσσαρες οἰκέται καὶ αἱ δύο κάμηλοι εἰς Ῥάγας τῆς Μηδίας καὶ ηὐλίσθησαν παρὰ Γαβαήλῳ καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ τὸ χειρόγραφον αὐτοῦ καὶ ὑπέδειξεν αὐτῷ περὶ Τωβίου τοῦ υἱοῦ Τωβὶθ ὅτι ἔλαβεν γυναῖκα καὶ ὅτι καλεῖ αὐτὸν εἰς τὸν γάμον καὶ ἀναστὰς παρηρίθμησεν αὐτῷ τὰ θυλάκια σὺν ταῖς σφραγῖσιν καὶ συνέθηκαν αὐτά |
| 5 So Raphaēl went out, and lodged with Gabaēl, and gave him the handwriting: who brought forth bags which were sealed up, and gave them to him. | So Raphaēl and the four domestics and two camels went into Rhagai in Mēdia and stayed with Gabaēl. Then he gave him his bond and told him about Tōbias son of Tōbith, that he had taken a wife and invited him to the wedding feast. So he got up and counted out for him the money bags, with the seals; then they loaded them on the camels. |
| 6 καὶ ὤρθρευσαν κοινῶς καὶ ἤλθοσαν εἰς τὸν γάμον. καὶ εὐλόγησεν Τωβίας τὴν γυναῖκα αὐτοῦ. | 6 καὶ ὤρθρισαν κοινῶς καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς τὸν γάμον καὶ εἰσῆλθον εἰς τὰ Ῥαγουὴλ καὶ εὗρον Τωβίαν ἀνακείμενον καὶ ἀνεπήδησεν καὶ ἠσπάσατο αὐτόν καὶ ἔκλαυσεν καὶ εὐλόγησεν αὐτὸν καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ καλὲ καὶ ἀγαθέ ἀνδρὸς καλοῦ καὶ ἀγαθοῦ δικαίου καὶ ἐλεημοποιοῦ δῴη σοὶ κύριος εὐλογίαν οὐρανοῦ καὶ τῇ γυναικί σου καὶ τῷ πατρί σου καὶ τῇ μητρὶ τῆς γυναικός σου εὐλογητὸς ὁ θεός ὅτι εἶδον Τωβὶν τὸν ἀνεψιόν μου ὅμοιον αὐτῷ |
| 6 And early in the morning they went forth both together, and came to the wedding: and Tōbias blessed his wife. | And they both got up early in the morning and went to the wedding feast. And they went to Ragouēl’s place and found Tōbias reclining at table. Then he sprang up and greeted him, and he wept and blessed him and said, “Noble and good son of a noble and good, upright and charitable man, may the Lord give the blessing of heaven to you and to your wife and to your father and to the mother of your wife. Blessed be God, for I see Tobis my cousin who is just like him.” |
