top Tobit ch 11

Chapter 11

Alexandrus & VaticanusSinaiticus
1 And went on his way till they drew near unto Nineve. Then Raphaēl said to Tōbias, When they came near to Kaserein, which is opposite Nineve,
2 You know, brother, how you left your father: Raphaēl said, “You know how we left your father.
3 Let us haste before your wife, and prepare the house. Let us run on ahead of your wife and prepare the house while they are on the way.”
4 And take in your hand the gall of the fish. So they went their way, and the dog went after them. So the two of them went together, and he said to him, “Take the gall with your hands.” And the dog came along behind him and Tobia.
8 Therefore anoint you his eyes with the gall, and being pricked therewith, he shall rub, and the whiteness shall fall away, and he shall see you. Sprinkle the gall of the fish on his eyes, and the medicine will make the white films contract and peel off from his eyes, and your father will look up and see the light.”
9 Then Anna ran forth, and fell upon the neck of her son, and said unto him, Seeing I have seen you, my son, from henceforth I am content to die. And they wept both. Then Hanna ran up and fell on the neck of her son and said to him, “I see you, my child; from now on I am ready to die.” And she wept.
10 Tōbit also went forth toward the door, and stumbled: but his son ran unto him, Then Tobis got up and stumbled on his feet and went out the door of the courtyard.
13 And the whiteness pilled away from the corners of his eyes: and when he saw his son, he fell upon his neck. Then he fell on his neck, and he wept and said to him, “I see you, my child, the light of my eyes!”
15 For you have scourged, and have taken pity on me: for, behold, I see my son Tōbias. And his son went in rejoicing, and told his father the great things that had happened to him in Mēdia. And Tōbias went in rejoicing and blessing God with full voice. Then Tōbias told his father that his journey had been successful and that he had brought the silver and that he had taken Sarra daughter of Ragouēl as wife and that behold, she is arriving and is near the gate of Nineve.
16 Then Tōbit went out to meet his daughter in law at the gate of Nineve, rejoicing and praising God: and they which saw him go marvelled, because he had received his sight. Then Tōbith went out to the gate of Nineve to meet his daughter-in-law, rejoicing and blessing God. Now the people of Nineve, seeing him walking and moving along in all his strength and with no one leading him, were amazed. And Tōbith acknowledged before them that God had been merciful to him and that he had opened his eyes.
17 But Tōbias gave thanks before them, because God had mercy on him. And when he came near to Sarra his daughter in law, he blessed her, saying, Thou art welcome, daughter: God be blessed, which hath brought you unto us, and blessed be your father and your mother. And there was joy among all his brothers which were at Nineve. Then Tōbith approached Sarra, the wife of Tōbias his son, and he blessed her and said to her, “Come in, in good health, daughter, and blessed be your God, who has brought you to us, daughter. And blessed be your father and your mother, and blessed be Tōbias my son, and blessed be you, daughter. Come into your house in good health, with blessing and joy. Come in, daughter.”
