For the end, for Idithun, a Psalm of Asaph. For the end, for Idithun, a Psalm of Asaph.

1 I cried to God with my voice, even to God with my voice; and he gave ear to me.

1 I cried to the Lord with my voice, yes, my voice was addressed to God; and he gave heed to me. 1 I cried to the Lord with my voice, yes, my voice was addressed to God; and he gave heed to me.

2 In the day of my trouble I sought the Lord; my sore ran in the night, and didn’t cease; my soul refused to be comforted.

2 In the day of my affliction I earnestly sought the Lord; even with my hands by night before him, and I was not deceived; my soul refused to be comforted. 2 In the day of my affliction I earnestly sought the Lord; even with my hands by night before him, and I was not deceived; my soul refused to be comforted.

3 I remembered God, and was troubled; I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.

3 I remembered God, and rejoiced; I poured out my complaint, and my soul fainted. Pause. 3 I remembered God, and rejoiced; I poured out my complaint, and my soul fainted. Pause.

4 You hold my eyes waking; I am so troubled that I cannot speak.

4 All my enemies set a watch against me; I was troubled, and spoke not. 4 All my enemies set a watch against me; I was troubled, and spoke not.

5 I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.

5 I considered the days of old, and remembered ancient years. 5 I considered the days of old, and remembered ancient years.

6 I call to remembrance my song in the night; I commune with my own heart; and my spirit made diligent search.

6 And I meditated; I communed with my heart by night, and diligently searched my spirit, saying, 6 And I meditated; I communed with my heart by night, and diligently searched my spirit, saying,

7 Will the Lord cast off for ever? And will he be favourable no more?

7 μὴ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας ἀπώσεται κύριος καὶ οὐ προσθήσει τοῦ εὐδοκῆσαι ἔτι; 7 μὴ εἰς τοὺς αἰῶνας ἀπώσεται Κύριος καὶ οὐ προσθήσει τοῦ εὐδοκῆσαι ἔτι;
7 Will the Lord cast off for ever? And will he be well pleased no more? 7 Will the Lord cast off for ever? And will he be well pleased no more?

8 Is his mercy clean gone for ever? Does his promise fail for evermore?

8 εἰς τέλος τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ ἀποκόψει ἀπὸ γενεᾶς εἰς γενεάν; 8 εἰς τέλος τὸ ἔλεος αὐτοῦ ἀποκόψει;
συνετέλεσε ῥῆμα ἀπὸ γενεᾶς εἰς γενεάν;
8 Will he cut off his mercy for ever, even for ever and ever? 8 Will he cut off his mercy for ever, even for ever and ever?

9 Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.

9 ἐπιλήσεται τοῦ οἰκτιρῆσαι θεὸς συνέξει ἐν τῇ ὀργῇ αὐτοῦ τοὺς οἰκτιρμοὺς αὐτοῦ;
9 μὴ ἐπιλήσεται τοῦ οἰκτειρῆσαι Θεός;
9 Will God forget to pity? Or will he shut up his mercies in his wrath? Pause. 9 Will God forget to pity? Or will he shut up his mercies in his wrath? Pause.

10 And I said, This is my infirmity; but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High.

10 And I said, Now I have begun; this is the change of the right hand of the Most High. 10 And I said, Now I have begun; this is the change of the right hand of the Most High.

11 I will remember the works of Yahweh; surely I will remember your wonders of old.

11 I remembered the works of the Lord; for I will remember your wonders from the beginning. 11 I remembered the works of the Lord; for I will remember your wonders from the beginning.

12 I will meditate also of all your work, and talk of your doings.

12 And I will meditate on all your works, and will consider your doings. 12 And I will meditate on all your works, and will consider your doings.

13 Your way, Oh God, is in the sanctuary; who is so great a God as our God?

13 θεός, ἐν τῷ ἁγίῳ ὁδός σου· τίς θεὸς μέγας ὡς θεὸς ἡμῶν; 13 Θεός, ἐν τῷ ἁγίῳ ὁδός σου· τίς Θεὸς μέγας ὡς Θεὸς ἡμῶν;
13 Oh God, your way is in the sanctuary; who is a great God as our God? 13 Oh God, your way is in the sanctuary; who is a great God as our God?

14 You are the God who does wonders; you have declared your strength among the people.

14 You are the God who does wonders; you have made known your power among the nations. 14 You are the God who does wonders; you have made known your power among the nations.

15 You have with your arm redeemed your people, the sons of Jacōb and Joseph. Selah.

16 The waters saw you, Oh God, the waters saw you; they were afraid; the depths also were troubled.

16 The waters saw you, Oh God, the waters saw you, and feared; and the depths were troubled. 16 The waters saw you, Oh God, the waters saw you, and feared; and the depths were troubled.

17 The clouds poured out water; the skies sent out a sound; your arrows also went abroad.

17 There was an abundant sound of waters; the clouds uttered a voice; for your arrows went abroad. 17 There was an abundant sound of waters; the clouds uttered a voice; for your arrows went abroad.

18 The voice of your thunder was in the heaven; the lightnings lightened the world; the earth trembled and shook.

18 The voice of your thunder was abroad, and around your lightnings appeared to the world; the earth trembled a quaked. 18 The voice of your thunder was abroad, and around your lightnings appeared to the world; the earth trembled a quaked.

19 Your way is in the sea, and your path in the great waters, and your footsteps are not known.

19 Your way is in the sea, and your paths in many waters, and your footsteps cannot be known. 19 Your way is in the sea, and your paths in many waters, and your footsteps cannot be known.

20 You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

20 You did guide your people as sheep by the hand of Moses and Aaron. 20 You did guide your people as sheep by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
