Jesus Superior to Mōses

Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession; Therefore, holy brothers, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Christ Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession;
He was faithful to him who appointed him, as was Mōsēs also in [all] his house. He was faithful to him who appointed him, as was Mōsēs also in all his house.

A Rest for the People of God

For he has been considered worthy of more glory than Mōysēs, by just so much as the builder of it has more honour than the house. For he has been considered worthy of more glory than Mōsēs, by just so much as the builder of it has more honour than the house.
For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything. For every house is built by someone, but God is the builder of everything.
Now Mōsēs was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which will be spoken; Now Mōses was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which will be spoken;
but Christ as a Son over his house; whose house we are, if we hold secure our confidence and the boast of our hope. but Christ as a Son over his house; whose house we are, if we hold secure our confidence indeed and the boast of our hope firm until the end.
Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, “Today if you hear his voice, Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, “Today if you hear his voice,
for 40 years; therefore I was angry with this generation, And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, and they didn’t know my ways’; therefore I was angry with that generation, And said, ‘They always go astray in their heart, and they didn’t know my ways’;
Be careful, brothers, lest there be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God. Be careful, brothers, lest there be in any one of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God.
But encourage one another day by day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin. But encourage one another day by day, as long as it is still called “Today,” so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold securely the beginning of our assurance firm until the end, For we have become partakers of Christ, if we hold securely the beginning of our assurance firm until the end,
3:16 τίνες γὰρ ἀκούσαντες παρεπίκραναν;
ἀλλ᾿ οὐ πάντες οἱ ἐξελθόντες ἐξ Αἰγύπτου διὰ Μωϋσέως;
For didn’t they provoke him after they had heard? But were not all those who came out of Egypt led by Mōses? For they provoked him after hearing. But not all those who came out of Egypt were led by Mōses.
3:17 τίσιν δὲ προσώχθισεν τεσσεράκοντα ἔτη;
οὐχὶ τοῖς ἁμαρτήσασιν, ὧν τὰ κῶλα ἔπεσεν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ;
17 τίσι δὲ προσώχθισε τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη;
οὐχὶ τοῖς ἁμαρτήσασιν, ὧν τὰ κῶλα ἔπεσεν ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ;
And with whom was he angry for 40 years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness? And with whom was he angry for 40 years? Was it not with those who sinned, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?
3:18 τίσιν δὲ ὤμοσεν, μὴ εἰσελεύσεσθαι εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσιν αὐτοῦ εἰ μὴ τοῖς ἀπειθήσασιν; 18 τίσι δὲ ὤμοσε, μὴ εἰσελεύσεσθαι εἰς τὴν κατάπαυσιν αὐτοῦ, εἰ μὴ τοῖς ἀπειθήσασι;
And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient?
So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief. So we see that they were not able to enter because of unbelief.
