2 Saul chose him 3000 men of Israēl; of which 2000 were with Saul in Michmash and in mount Bethel, and 1000 were with Jonathan in Gibeah of Benjamin; and the rest of the people he sent every man to his tent.

13 And Samuel said to Saul, You have done foolishly: you haven’t kept the command of Yahweh your Elohim, which he commanded you; for now would Yahweh have established your kingdom on Israēl forever.

15 And Samuel arose, and got him up from Gilgal to Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people who were present with him, about 600 men.

19 Now there was no smith found throughout all the land of Israēl; for the Philistines said, Lest the Hebrews make them swords or spears.
