Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living, holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. | Therefore I urge you, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living, holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. |
And don’t be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. | And don’t be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect. |
For through the grace given to me I say to everyone who is among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to be sensible, as God distributed to each a measure of faith. | For through the grace given to me I say to everyone who is among you not to think more highly of himself than he ought to think; but to think so as to be sensible, as God distributed to each a measure of faith. |
For just as we have many members in one body and all the members don’t have the same function, | For just as we have many members in one body and all the members don’t have the same function, |
so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and one by one, members of each another. | so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and one by one, members of each another. |
Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; | Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith; |
if service, in his serving; or the one who teaches, in his teaching; | if service, in his serving; or the one who teaches, in his teaching; |
or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who shares, with generosity; he who manages, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. | or he who exhorts, in his exhortation; he who shares, with generosity; he who manages, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. |
12:9 Ἡ
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. | Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. |
Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honour; | Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honour; |
not lazy in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; | not lazy in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; |
rejoicing in hope, enduring in tribulation, persevering in prayer, | rejoicing in hope, enduring in tribulation, persevering in prayer, |
sharing to the needs of the saints, pursuing hospitality. | sharing to the needs of the saints, pursuing hospitality. |
Bless those who persecute you; bless and don’t curse. | Bless those who persecute you; bless and don’t curse. |
Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. | Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. |

Be of the same mind toward one another; don’t think conceitedly, but associate with the poor. Don’t be wise according to yourself. | Be of the same mind toward one another; don’t think conceitedly, but associate with the poor. Don’t be wise according to yourself. |

Never repay evil for evil to anyone. Plan ahead what is good in the presence of all men. | Never repay evil for evil to anyone. Plan ahead what is good in the presence of all men. |
If possible, should it depend on you, be at peace with all men. | If possible, should it depend on you, be at peace with all men. |
Never take your own revenge, beloved, but give place for the wrath, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,”[1] says the Lord. | Never take your own revenge, beloved, but give place for the wrath, for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,”[1] says the Lord. |
