1 My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with you.

בְּנִי שְׁמֹר אֲמָרָי וּמִצְוֹתַי תִּצְפֹּן אִתָּךְ׃

1 Υἱέ, φύλασσε ἐμοὺς λόγους, τὰς δὲ ἐμὰς ἐντολὰς κρύψον παρὰ σεαυτῷ· υἱέ, τίμα τὸν κύριον, καὶ ἰσχύσεις, πλὴν δὲ αὐτοῦ μὴ φοβοῦ ἄλλον.	1 υἱέ, φύλασσε ἐμοὺς λόγους, τὰς δὲ ἐμὰς ἐντολὰς κρύψον παρὰ σεαυτῷ. υἱέ, τίμα τὸν Κύριον, καὶ ἰσχύσεις, πλὴν δὲ αὐτοῦ μὴ φοβοῦ ἄλλον.

שְׁמֹר מִצְוֹתַי וֶחְיֵה וְתֹורָתִי כְּאִישֹׁון עֵינֶיךָ׃

4 Say to wisdom, You are my sister; and call understanding your kinswoman.

6 For at the window of my house I looked through my casement,

כִּי בְּחַלֹּון בֵּיתִי בְּעַד אֶשְׁנַבִּי נִשְׁקָפְתִּי׃

וָאֵרֶא בַפְּתָאיִם אָבִינָה בַבָּנִים נַעַר חֲסַר ־ לֵב׃

עֹבֵר בַּשּׁוּק אֵצֶל פִּנָּהּ וְדֶרֶךְ בֵּיתָהּ יִצְעָד׃

בְּנֶשֶׁף ־ בְּעֶרֶב יֹום בְּאִישֹׁון לַיְלָה וַאֲפֵלָה׃

10 And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of a prostitute, and subtle of heart.

וְהִנֵּה אִשָּׁה לִקְרָאתֹו שִׁית זֹונָה וּנְצֻרַת לֵב׃

11 ( She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house.

הֹמִיָּה הִיא וְסֹרָרֶת בְּבֵיתָהּ לֹא ־ יִשְׁכְּנוּ רַגְלֶיהָ׃

11 ἀνεπτερωμένη δέ ἐστιν καὶ ἄσωτος, ἐν οἴκῳ δὲ οὐχ ἡσυχάζουσιν οἱ πόδες αὐτῆς·	11 ἀνεπτερωμένη δέ ἔστι καὶ ἄσωτος, ἐν οἴκῳ δὲ οὐχ ἡσυχάζουσιν οἱ πόδες αὐτῆς·

12 Now is she without, now in the streets, and lies in wait at every corner.)

פַּעַם בַּחוּץ פַּעַם בָּרְחֹבֹות וְאֵצֶל כָּל ־ פִּנָּה תֶאֱרֹב׃

זִבְחֵי שְׁלָמִים עָלָי הַיֹּום שִׁלַּמְתִּי נְדָרָי׃

15 Therefore came I forth to meet you, diligently to seek your face, and I have found you.

עַל ־ כֵּן יָצָאתִי לִקְרָאתֶךָ לְשַׁחֵר פָּנֶיךָ וָאֶמְצָאֶךָּ׃

מַרְבַדִּים רָבַדְתִּי עַרְשִׂי חֲטֻבֹות אֵטוּן מִצְרָיִם׃

נַפְתִּי מִשְׁכָּבִי מֹר אֲהָלִים וְקִנָּמֹון׃

18 Come, let’s take our fill of love until the morning: let’s solace ourselves with loves.

לְכָה נִרְוֶה דֹדִים עַד ־ הַבֹּקֶר נִתְעַלְּסָה בָּאֳהָבִים׃

כִּי אֵין הָאִישׁ בְּבֵיתֹו הָלַךְ בְּדֶרֶךְ מֵרָחֹוק׃

21 With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him.

הִטַּתּוּ בְּרֹב לִקְחָהּ בְּחֵלֶק שְׂפָתֶיהָ תַּדִּיחֶנּוּ׃

22 He goes after her straightway, as an ox goes to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks;

הֹולֵךְ אַחֲרֶיהָ פִּתְאֹם כְּשֹׁור אֶל ־ טָבַח יָבֹוא וּכְעֶכֶס אֶל ־ מוּסַר אֱוִיל׃

עַד יְפַלַּח חֵץ כְּבֵדֹו כְּמַהֵר צִפֹּור אֶל ־ פָּח וְלֹא ־ יָדַע כִּי ־ בְנַפְשֹׁו הוּא׃ פ

24 Listen to me now therefore, Oh you children, and attend to the words of my mouth.

וְעַתָּה בָנִים שִׁמְעוּ ־ לִי וְהַקְשִׁיבוּ לְאִמְרֵי ־ פִי׃
