Deuteronomy

1 “Then we turned, and went up the way to Bashan; and Og the king of Bashan came out against us, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.

2 And Yahweh said to me, ‘Fear him not; for I will deliver him, and all his people, and his land, into your hand; and you shall do to him as you did to Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon.’

2 And the Lord said to me, “Don’t fear him, because I have delivered him over into your hands, and all his people and all his land. 3 So Yahweh our Elohim delivered into our hands Og also, the king of Bashan, and all his people; and we smote him until none was left to him remaining.

4 And we took all his cities at that time, there wasn’t a city which we didn’t take from them, 60 cities, all the region of Argob, the kingdom of Og in Bashan.

4 καὶ ἐκρατήσαμεν πασῶν τῶν πόλεων αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ, οὐκ ἦν πόλις, ἣν οὐκ ἐλάβομεν παρ’ αὐτῶν, ἑξήκοντα πόλεις, πάντα τὰ περίχωρα Ἀργὸβ βασιλείας Ὢγ ἐν Βασάν,	4 καὶ ἐκρατήσαμεν πασῶν τῶν πόλεων αὐτοῦ ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ· οὐκ ἦν πόλις, ἣν οὐκ ἐλάβομεν παρ’ αὐτῶν, ἑξήκοντα πόλεις, πάντα τὰ περίχωρα Ἀργὸβ βασιλέως Ὢγ ἐν Βασάν,

5 All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; besides a great many unwalled towns.

7 But all the cattle, and the spoil of the cities, we took for a prey to ourselves.

8 At that time, we took out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites the land that was on this side Jordan, from the river of Arnon to mount Hermon;

11 For only Og king of Bashan remained of the remnant of giants. Look, his bed was a bed of iron; is it not in Rabbath of the children of Ammon? Its length was nine cubits and its width was four cubits, by the cubit of a man.

11 ὅτι πλὴν Ὢγ βασιλεὺς Βασὰν κατελείφθη ἀπὸ τῶν Ῥαφαΐν· ἰδοὺ ἡ κλίνη αὐτοῦ κλίνη σιδηρᾶ, ἰδοὺ αὕτη ἐν τῇ ἄκρᾳ τῶν υἱῶν Ἀμμών, ἐννέα πηχῶν τὸ μῆκος αὐτῆς καὶ τεσσάρων πηχῶν τὸ εὖρος αὐτῆς ἐν πήχει ἀνδρός.	11 ὅτι πλὴν Ὢγ βασιλεὺς Βασὰν κατελείφθη ἀπὸ τῶν Ῥαφαΐν· ἰδοὺ ἡ κλίνη αὐτοῦ κλίνη σιδηρᾶ, ἰδοὺ αὕτη ἐν τῇ ἄκρᾳ τῶν υἱῶν Ἀμμάν, ἐννέα πήχεων τὸ μῆκος αὐτῆς καὶ τεσσάρων πήχεων τὸ εὖρος αὐτῆς ἐν πήχει ἀνδρός.

12 And at that time, we possessed this land, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, and half mount Gilead, and its cities. I gave them to the Reubenites and to the Gadites.

12 καὶ τὴν γῆν ἐκείνην ἐκληρονομήσαμεν ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἀπὸ Ἀροήρ, ἥ ἐστιν ἐπὶ τοῦ χείλους χειμάρρου Ἀρνών, καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ ὄρους Γαλαὰδ καὶ τὰς πόλεις αὐτοῦ ἔδωκα τῷ Ῥουβὴν καὶ τῷ Γάδ.	12 καὶ τὴν γῆν ἐκείνην ἐκληρονομήσαμεν ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ ἀπὸ Ἀροήρ, ἥ ἔστι παρὰ τὸ χεῖλος χειμάρρου Ἀρνῶν, καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ τοῦ ὄρους Γαλαὰδ καὶ τὰς πόλεις αὐτοῦ ἔδωκα τῷ Ῥουβὴν καὶ τῷ Γάδ.

13 And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, being the kingdom of Og, I gave to the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants.

13 καὶ τὸ κατάλοιπον τοῦ Γαλαὰδ καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν Βασάν, βασιλείαν Ὢγ, ἔδωκα τῷ ἡμίσει φυλῆς Μανασσῆ καὶ πᾶσαν περίχωρον Ἀργόβ, πᾶσαν τὴν Βασὰν ἐκείνην· γῆ Ῥαφαῒν λογισθήσεται.	13 καὶ τὸ κατάλοιπον τοῦ Γαλαὰδ καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν Βασὰν βασιλείαν Ὢγ ἔδωκα τῷ ἡμίσει φυλῆς Μανασσῆ καὶ πᾶσαν περίχωρον Ἀργόβ, πᾶσαν Βασὰν ἐκείνην· γῆ Ῥαφαῒν λογισθήσεται.
13 And I gave to the half-tribe of Manassē the rest of Galaad and all of Basan, Ōg’s kingdom, and all the surrounding area of Argob, all of said Basan. 14 Jair the son of Manasseh took all the country of Argob to the coasts of Geshuri and Maachathi; and called them after his own name, Bashan-havoth-jair, to this day.

15 And I gave Gilead to Machir.

16 καὶ τῷ Ῥουβὴν καὶ τῷ Γὰδ δέδωκα ἀπὸ τῆς Γαλαὰδ ἕως χειμάρρου (Ἀρνὼν μέσον τοῦ χειμάρρου ὅριον) καὶ ἕως τοῦ Ἰαβόκ· ὁ χειμάρρους ὅριον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἀμμάν·	16 καὶ τῷ Ῥουβὴν καὶ τῷ Γὰδ δέδωκα ἀπὸ τῆς Γαλαὰδ ἕως χειμάρρου Ἀρνῶν (μέσον τοῦ χειμάρρου ὅριον) καὶ ἕως τοῦ Ἰαβόκ· ὁ χειμάρρους ὅριον τοῖς υἱοῖς Ἀμμάν.

18 And I commanded you at that time, saying, ‘Yahweh your Elohim has given you this land to possess; you shall pass over armed ahead of your brothers the sons of Israēl, all that are able for the war.

18 καὶ ἐνετειλάμην ὑμῖν ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ λέγων κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν ἔδωκεν ὑμῖν τὴν γῆν ταύτην ἐν κλήρῳ· ἐνοπλισάμενοι προπορεύεσθε πρὸ προσώπου τῶν ἀδελφῶν ὑμῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ, πᾶς δυνατός·	18 καὶ ἐνετειλάμην ὑμῖν ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ λέγων· Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὑμῶν ἔδωκεν ὑμῖν τὴν γῆν ταύτην ἐν κλήρῳ· ἐνοπλισάμενοι προπορεύεσθε πρὸ προσώπου τῶν ἀδελφῶν ὑμῶν υἱῶν Ἰσραήλ, πᾶς δυνατός·
18 And at that time I gave orders to you, saying; “Your Lord God gave you this land as an allotment. 19 πλὴν αἱ γυναῖκες ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ τέκνα ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ κτήνη ὑμῶν – οἶδα ὅτι πολλὰ κτήνη ὑμῖν – κατοικείτωσαν ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν ὑμῶν, αἷς ἔδωκα ὑμῖν,	19 πλὴν αἱ γυναῖκες ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ τέκνα ὑμῶν καὶ τὰ κτήνη ὑμῶν, οἶδα ὅτι πολλὰ κτήνη ὑμῖν, κατοικείτωσαν ἐν ταῖς πόλεσιν ὑμῶν, αἷς ἔδωκα ὑμῖν,

20 ἕως ἄν καταπαύσῃ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμῶν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν ὥσπερ καὶ ὑμᾶς, καὶ κατακληρονομήσουσιν καὶ οὗτοι τὴν γῆν, ἣν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν δίδωσιν αὐτοῖς ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου, καὶ ἐπαναστραφήσεσθε ἕκαστος εἰς τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ, ἣν ἔδωκα ὑμῖν.	20 ἕως ἄν καταπαύσῃ Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ὑμῶν τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμῶν, ὥσπερ καὶ ὑμᾶς, καὶ κατακληρονομήσωσι καὶ οὗτοι τὴν γῆν, ἣν Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν δίδωσιν αὐτοῖς ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου, καὶ ἐπαναστραφήσεσθε ἕκαστος εἰς τὴν κληρονομίαν αὐτοῦ, ἣν ἔδωκα ὑμῖν.

21 And I commanded Joshua at that time, saying, ‘Your eyes have seen all that Yahweh your Elohim has done to these two kings; so shall Yahweh do to all the kingdoms to which you pass.

21 καὶ τῷ Ἰησοῖ ἐνετειλάμην ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ λέγων οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ὑμῶν ἑωράκασιν πάντα, ὅσα ἐποίησεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν τοῖς δυσὶ βασιλεῦσι τούτοις· οὕτως ποιήσει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν πάσας τὰς βασιλείας, ἐφ’ ἃς σὺ διαβαίνεις ἐκεῖ·	21 Καὶ τῷ Ἰησοῖ ἐνετειλάμην ἐν τῷ καιρῷ ἐκείνῳ λέγων· οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ὑμῶν ἑωράκασι πάντας, ὅσα ἐποίησε Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν τοῖς δυσὶ βασιλεῦσι τούτοις· οὕτως ποιήσει Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν πάσας τὰς βασιλείας, ἐφ’ ἃς σὺ διαβαίνεις ἐκεῖ·
