Deuteronomy

1 “Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red Sea, as Yahweh spoke to me; and we circled around mount Seir many days.

7 ὁ γὰρ κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμῶν εὐλόγησέν σὲ ἐν παντὶ ἔργῳ τῶν χειρῶν σου· διάγνωθι πῶς διῆλθες τὴν ἔρημον τὴν μεγάλην καὶ τὴν φοβερὰν ἐκείνην· ἰδοὺ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη κύριος ὁ θεός σου μετὰ σου οὐκ ἐπεδεήθης ῥήματος.	7 ὁ γὰρ Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν εὐλόγησέ σε ἐν παντὶ ἔργῳ τῶν χειρῶν σου· διάγνωθι πῶς διῆλθες τὴν ἔρημον τὴν μεγάλην καὶ τὴν φοβερὰν ἐκείνην· ἰδοὺ τεσσαράκοντα ἔτη Κύριος ὁ Θεός σου μετὰ σοῦ, οὐκ ἐπεδεήθης ῥήματος.
7 For our Lord God has blessed you in every work of your hands. Consider how you crossed this great and fearful wilderness. 8 And when we passed by from our brothers the children of Esau, who dwelt in Seir, through the way of the plain from Elath, and from Ezion-gaber, we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab.

8 And we passed by our brothers, the sons of Hēsau who live in Sēir, by the road of the Araba, from Ailōn and from Gasiōn Gaber. 10 The Emims dwelt in it in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims;

12 The Horims also dwelt in Seir previously; but the children of Esau succeeded them, when they had destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their place; as Israēl did to the land of his possession, which Yahweh gave to them.

14 And the length of time after leaving Kedesh-barnea until we crossed over the brook Zered was 38 years; until all the generation of the men of war had died out from among the army, as Yahweh swore to them.

16 So it happened, when all the men of war had died from among the people,

17 that Yahweh spoke to me, saying,

19 and you will approach near to the sons of Amman. 20 (That also was accounted a land of giants; giants dwelt in it in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims;
