Ezekiel

1 And it happened in the 12th year, in the 12th month, in the first day of the month, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

וַיְהִי בִּשְׁתֵּי עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה בִּשְׁנֵי ־ עָשָׂר חֹדֶשׁ בְּאֶחָד לַחֹדֶשׁ הָיָה דְבַר ־ יְהוָה אֵלַי לֵאמֹר׃

1 καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἑνδεκάτῳ ἔτει ἐν τῷ δωδεκάτῳ μηνὶ μιᾷ τοῦ μηνὸς ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων	1 Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ ἑνδεκάτῳ ἔτει, ἐν τῷ δωδεκάτῳ μηνί, μιᾷ τοῦ μηνός, ἐγένετο λόγος Κυρίου πρός με λέγων·

2 Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt, and say to him, You are like a young lion of the nations, and you are as a whale in the seas; and you came forth with your rivers, and troubled the waters with your feet, and fouled their rivers.

בֶּן ־ אָדָם שָׂא קִינָה עַל ־ פַּרְעֹה מֶלֶךְ ־ מִצְרַיִם וְאָמַרְתָּ אֵלָיו כְּפִיר גֹּויִם נִדְמֵיתָ וְאַתָּה כַּתַּנִּים בַּיַּמִּים וַתָּגַח בְּנַהֲרֹותֶיךָ וַתִּדְלַח ־ מַיִם בְּרַגְלֶיךָ וַתִּרְפֹּס נַהֲרֹותָם׃

2 υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, λαβὲ θρῆνον ἐπὶ Φαραὼ βασιλέα Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἐρεῖς αὐτῷ λέοντι ἐθνῶν ὡμοιώθης καὶ σὺ ὡς δράκων ὁ ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ καὶ ἐκεράτιζες τοῖς ποταμοῖς σου καὶ ἐτάρασσες ὕδωρ τοῖς ποσίν σου καὶ κατεπάτεις τοὺς ποταμούς σου.	2 υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου λαβὲ θρῆνον ἐπὶ Φαραὼ βασιλέα Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἐρεῖς αὐτῷ· λέοντι ἐθνῶν ὡμοιώθης καὶ σὺ ὡς δράκων ὁ ἐν τῇ θαλάσσῃ καὶ ἐκεράτιζες τοῖς ποταμοῖς σου καὶ ἐτάρασσες ὕδωρ τοῖς ποσί σου καὶ κατεπάτεις τοὺς ποταμούς σου.

3 Thus says Adonai Yahweh; I will therefore spread out my net over you with a company of many people; and they shall bring you up in my net.

כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה וּפָרַשְׂתִּי עָלֶיךָ אֶת ־ רִשְׁתִּי בִּקְהַל עַמִּים רַבִּים וְהֶעֱלוּךָ בְּחֶרְמִי׃

4 Then will I leave you on the land, I will cast you forth on the open field, and will cause all the fowls of the heaven to remain on you, and I will fill the beasts of the whole earth with you.

וּנְטַשְׁתִּיךָ בָאָרֶץ עַל ־ פְּנֵי הַשָּׂדֶה אֲטִילֶךָ וְהִשְׁכַּנְתִּי עָלֶיךָ כָּל ־ עֹוף הַשָּׁמַיִם וְהִשְׂבַּעְתִּי מִמְּךָ חַיַּת כָּל ־ הָאָרֶץ׃

4 καὶ ἐκτενῶ σὲ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν, πεδία πλησθήσεταί σου, καὶ ἐπικαθιῶ ἐπὶ σὲ πάντα τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἐμπλήσω ἐκ σου πάντα τὰ θηρία πάσης τῆς γῆς·	4 καὶ ἐκτενῶ σε ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν· πεδία πλησθήσεταί σου, καὶ ἐπικαθιῶ ἐπὶ σέ πάντα τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἐμπλήσω ἐκ σοῦ πάντα τὰ θηρία πάσης τῆς γῆς,

5 And I will lay your flesh on the mountains, and fill the valleys with your height.

וְנָתַתִּי אֶת ־ בְּשָׂרְךָ עַל ־ הֶהָרִים וּמִלֵּאתִי הַגֵּאָיֹות רָמוּתֶךָ׃

6 I will also water with your blood the land in which you swim, even to the mountains; and the rivers shall be full of you.

וְהִשְׁקֵיתִי אֶרֶץ צָפָתְךָ מִדָּמְךָ אֶל ־ הֶהָרִים וַאֲפִקִים יִמָּלְאוּן מִמֶּךָּ׃

6 καὶ ποτισθήσεται ἡ γῆ ἀπὸ τῶν προχωρημάτων σου ἀπὸ τοῦ πλήθους σου ἐπὶ τῶν ὀρέων, φάραγγας ἐμπλήσω ἀπὸ σου.	6 καὶ ποτισθήσεται ἡ γῆ ἀπὸ τῶν προχωρημάτων σου ἀπὸ τοῦ πλήθους σου ἐπὶ τῶν ὀρέων, φάραγγας ἐμπλήσω ἀπὸ σοῦ.

7 And when I shall put you out, I will cover the heaven, and make the stars of it dark; I will cover the sun with a cloud, and the moon shall not give her light.

וְכִסֵּיתִי בְכַבֹּותְךָ שָׁמַיִם וְהִקְדַּרְתִּי אֶת ־ כֹּכְבֵיהֶם שֶׁמֶשׁ בֶּעָנָן אֲכַסֶּנּוּ וְיָרֵחַ לֹא ־ יָאִיר אֹורֹו׃

7 καὶ κατακαλύψω ἐν τῷ σβεσθῆναί σὲ οὐρανὸν καὶ συσκοτάσω τὰ ἄστρα αὐτοῦ, ἥλιον ἐν νεφέλῃ καλύψω, καὶ σελήνη οὐ μὴ φάνῃ τὸ φῶς αὐτῆς·	7 καὶ κατακαλύψω ἐν τῷ σβεσθῆναί σε οὐρανὸν καὶ συσκοτάσω τὰ ἄστρα αὐτοῦ, ἥλιον ἐν νεφέλῃ καλύψω, καὶ σελήνη οὐ μὴ φάνῃ τὸ φῶς αὐτῆς·

8 All the bright lights of heaven will I make dark over you, and set darkness on your land, says Adonai Yahweh.

כָּל ־ מְאֹורֵי אֹור בַּשָּׁמַיִם אַקְדִּירֵם עָלֶיךָ וְנָתַתִּי חֹשֶׁךְ עַל ־ אַרְצְךָ נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה׃

9 I will also vex the hearts of many people, when I shall bring your destruction among the nations, into the countries which you haven’t known.

וְהִכְעַסְתִּי לֵב עַמִּים רַבִּים בַּהֲבִיאִי שִׁבְרְךָ בַּגֹּויִם עַל ־ אֲרָצֹות אֲשֶׁר לֹא ־ יְדַעְתָּם׃

9 καὶ παροργιῶ καρδίαν λαῶν πολλῶν, ἡνίκα ἄν ἄγω αἰχμαλωσίαν σου εἰς τὰ ἔθνη εἰς γῆν, ἣν οὐκ ἔγνως.	9 καὶ παροργιῶ καρδίαν λαῶν πολλῶν, ἡνίκα ἄν ἄγω αἰχμαλωσίαν σου εἰς τὰ ἔθνη, εἰς γῆν, ἣν οὐκ ἔγνως.

10 Yes, I will make many people amazed at you, and their kings shall be horribly afraid for you, when I shall brandish my sword before them; and they shall tremble at every moment, every man for his own life, in the day of your fall.

וַהֲשִׁמֹּותִי עָלֶיךָ עַמִּים רַבִּים וּמַלְכֵיהֶם יִשְׂעֲרוּ עָלֶיךָ שַׂעַר בְּעֹופְפִי חַרְבִּי עַל ־ פְּנֵיהֶם וְחָרְדוּ לִרְגָעִים אִישׁ לְנַפְשֹׁו בְּיֹום מַפַּלְתֶּךָ׃ ס

10 καὶ στυγνάσουσιν ἐπὶ σὲ ἔθνη πολλά, καὶ οἱ βασιλεῖς αὐτῶν ἐκστάσει ἐκστήσονται ἐν τῷ πέτασθαι τὴν ῥομφαίαν μου ἐπὶ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν, προσδεχόμενοι τὴν πτῶσιν αὐτῶν ἀφ’ ἡμέρας πτώσεώς σου.	10 καὶ στυγνάσουσιν ἐπὶ σὲ ἔθνη πολλά, καὶ οἱ βασιλεῖς αὐτῶν ἐκστάσει ἐκστήσονται ἐν τῷ πέτασθαι τὴν ῥομφαίαν μου ἐπὶ πρόσωπα αὐτῶν, προσδεχόμενοι τὴν πτῶσιν αὐτῶν ἀφ’ ἡμέρας πτώσεώς σου.

11 For thus says Adonai Yahweh; The sword of the king of Babylon shall come on you.

כִּי כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה חֶרֶב מֶלֶךְ ־ בָּבֶל תְּבֹואֶךָ׃

12 By the swords of the mighty will I cause your multitude to fall, the terrible of the nations, all of them; and they shall spoil the pomp of Egypt, and all the multitude of it shall be destroyed.

בְּחַרְבֹות גִּבֹּורִים אַפִּיל הֲמֹונֶךָ עָרִיצֵי גֹויִם כֻּלָּם וְשָׁדְדוּ אֶת ־ גְּאֹון מִצְרַיִם וְנִשְׁמַד כָּל ־ הֲמֹונָהּ׃

12 ἐν μαχαίραις γιγάντων, καὶ καταβαλῶ τὴν ἰσχύν σου· λοιμοὶ ἀπὸ ἐθνῶν πάντες, καὶ ἀπολοῦσι τὴν ὕβριν Αἰγύπτου, καὶ συντριβήσεται πᾶσα ἡ ἰσχὺς αὐτῆς.	12 ἐν μαχαίραις γιγάντων, καὶ καταβαλῶ τὴν ἰσχύν σου· λοιμοὶ ἀπὸ ἐθνῶν πάντες, καὶ ἀπολοῦσι τὴν ὕβριν Αἰγύπτου, καὶ συντριβήσεται πᾶσα ἡ ἰσχὺς αὐτῆς.

וְהַאֲבַדְתִּי אֶת ־ כָּל ־ בְּהֶמְתָּהּ מֵעַל מַיִם רַבִּים וְלֹא תִדְלָחֵם רֶגֶל ־ אָדָם עֹוד וּפַרְסֹות בְּהֵמָה לֹא תִדְלָחֵם׃

13 καὶ ἀπολῶ πάντα τὰ κτήνη αὐτῆς ἀφ’ ὕδατος πολλοῦ, καὶ οὐ μὴ ταράξῃ αὐτὸ ἔτι ποὺς ἀνθρώπου, καὶ ἴχνος κτηνῶν οὐ μὴ καταπατήσῃ αὐτό.	13 καὶ ἀπολῶ πάντα τὰ κτήνη αὐτῆς ἀφ’ ὕδατος πολλοῦ, καὶ οὐ μὴ ταράξῃ αὐτὸ ποὺς ἀνθρώπου ἔτι, καὶ ἴχνος κτηνῶν οὐ μὴ καταπατήσῃ αὐτό.

14 Then will I make their waters deep, and cause their rivers to run like oil, says Adonai Yahweh.

אָז אַשְׁקִיעַ מֵימֵיהֶם וְנַהֲרֹותָם כַּשֶּׁמֶן אֹולִיךְ נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה׃

15 ὅταν δῶ Αἴγυπτον εἰς ἀπώλειαν καὶ ἐρημωθῇ ἡ γῆ σὺν τῇ πληρώσει αὐτῆς, ὅταν διασπείρω πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν αὐτῇ, καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος.	15 ὅταν δῶ Αἴγυπτον εἰς ἀπώλειαν καὶ ἐρημωθῇ ἡ γῆ σὺν τῇ πληρώσει αὐτῆς, ὅταν διασπείρω πάντας τοὺς κατοικοῦντας ἐν αὐτῇ, καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος.

17 It came to pass also in the 12th year, in the 15th day of the month, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

17 καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ δωδεκάτῳ ἔτει τοῦ πρώτου μηνὸς πεντεκαιδεκάτῃ τοῦ μηνὸς ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων	17 καὶ ἐγενήθη ἐν τῷ δωδεκάτῳ ἔτει τοῦ πρώτου μηνός, πεντεκαιδεκάτῃ τοῦ μηνός, ἐγένετο λόγος Κυρίου πρός με λέγων·

18 Son of man, wail for the multitude of Egypt, and cast them down, even her, and the daughters of the famous nations, to the nether parts of the earth, with those who go down into the pit.

בֶּן ־ אָדָם נְהֵה עַל ־ הֲמֹון מִצְרַיִם וְהֹורִדֵהוּ אֹותָהּ וּבְנֹות גֹּויִם אַדִּרִם אֶל ־ אֶרֶץ תַּחְתִּיֹּות אֶת ־ יֹורְדֵי בֹור׃

18 υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, θρήνησον ἐπὶ τὴν ἰσχὺν Αἰγύπτου, καὶ καταβιβάσουσιν αὐτῆς τὰς θυγατέρας τὰ ἔθνη νεκρὰς εἰς τὸ βάθος τῆς γῆς πρὸς τοὺς καταβαίνοντας εἰς βόθρον·	18 υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, θρήνησον ἐπὶ τὴν ἰσχὺν Αἰγύπτου, καὶ καταβιβάσουσιν αὐτῆς τὰς θυγατέρας τὰ ἔθνη νεκρὰς εἰς τὸ βάθος τῆς γῆς, πρὸς τοὺς καταβαίνοντας εἰς βόθρον.

19 Whom do you pass in beauty? Go down, and be laid with the uncircumcised.

20 They shall fall in the midst of those who are slain by the sword. she is delivered to the sword: draw her and all her multitudes.

בְּתֹוךְ חַלְלֵי ־ חֶרֶב יִפֹּלוּ חֶרֶב נִתָּנָה מָשְׁכוּ אֹותָהּ וְכָל ־ הֲמֹונֶיהָ׃

יְדַבְּרוּ ־ לֹו אֵלֵי גִבֹּורִים מִתֹּוךְ שְׁאֹול אֶת ־ עֹזְרָיו יָרְדוּ שָׁכְבוּ הָעֲרֵלִים חַלְלֵי ־ חָרֶב׃
