I Kings

1 But Solomon was building his own house 13 years, and he finished all his house.

וְאֶת ־ בֵּיתֹו בָּנָה שְׁלֹמֹה שְׁלֹשׁ עֶשְׂרֵה שָׁנָה וַיְכַל אֶת ־ כָּל ־ בֵּיתֹו׃

1 καὶ τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ ᾠκοδόμησεν Σαλωμὼν τρισκαίδεκα ἔτεσιν. καὶ συνετέλεσεν Σαλωμὼν ὅλον τὸν οἶκον αὐτοῦ.	1 Καὶ τὸν οἶκον ἑαυτῷ ᾠκοδόμησε Σαλωμὼν τρισκαίδεκα ἔτεσι.

2 He built also the house of the forest of Lebanon; the length of it was 100 cubits, and the breadth of it 50 cubits, and the height of it 30 cubits, on four rows of cedar pillars, with cedar beams on the pillars.

וַיִּבֶן אֶת ־ בֵּית יַעַר הַלְּבָנֹון מֵאָה אַמָּה אָרְכֹּו וַחֲמִשִּׁים אַמָּה רָחְבֹּו וּשְׁלֹשִׁים אַמָּה קֹומָתֹו עַל אַרְבָּעָה טוּרֵי עַמּוּדֵי אֲרָזִים וּכְרֻתֹות אֲרָזִים עַל ־ הָעַמּוּדִים׃

2 καὶ ᾠκοδόμησεν τὸν οἶκον δρυμῷ τοῦ Λιβάνου· ἑκατὸν πήχεις μῆκος αὐτοῦ, καὶ πεντήκοντα πήχεις πλάτος αὐτοῦ, καὶ τριάκοντα πηχῶν ὕψος αὐτοῦ· καὶ τριῶν στίχων στύλων κεδρίνων, καὶ ὠμίαι κέδριναι τοῖς στύλοις.	2 καὶ ᾠκοδόμησε τὸν οἶκον δρυμῷ τοῦ Λιβάνου· ἑκατὸν πήχεις μῆκος αὐτοῦ, καὶ πεντήκοντα πήχεις πλάτος αὐτοῦ, καὶ τριάκοντα πηχῶν ὕψος αὐτοῦ· καὶ τριῶν στίχων στύλων κεδρίνων, καὶ ὠμίαι κέδριναι τοῖς στύλοις.

3 And it was covered with cedar above on the beams, that lay on 45 pillars, fifteen in a row.

וְסָפֻן בָּאֶרֶז מִמַּעַל עַל ־ הַצְּלָעֹת אֲשֶׁר עַל ־ הָעַמּוּדִים אַרְבָּעִים וַחֲמִשָּׁה חֲמִשָּׁה עָשָׂר הַטּוּר׃

3 καὶ ἐφάτνωσεν τὸν οἶκον ἄνωθεν ἐπὶ τῶν πλευρῶν τῶν στύλων, καὶ ἀριθμὸς τῶν στύλων τεσσαράκοντα καὶ πέντε, δέκα καὶ πέντε ὁ στίχος·	3 καὶ ἐφάτνωσε τὸν οἶκον ἄνωθεν ἐπὶ τῶν πλευρῶν τῶν στύλων, καὶ ὁ ἀριθμὸς τῶν στύλων τεσσαράκοντα καὶ πέντε ὁ στίχος·

4 And there were windows in three rows, and light was against light in three ranks.

5 καὶ πάντα τὰ θυρώματα καὶ αἱ χῶραι τετράγωνοι μεμελαθρωμέναι καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ θυρώματος ἐπὶ θύραν τρισσῶς·	5 καὶ πάντας τὰ θυρώματα καὶ αἱ χῶραι τετράγωνοι μεμελαθρωμέναι καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ θυρώματος ἐπὶ θύραν τρισσῶς.

6 And he made a porch of pillars; the length of it was 50 cubits, and the breadth of it 30 cubits; and the porch was before them; and the other pillars and the thick beam were before them.

6 καὶ τὸ αἰλὰμ τῶν στύλων πεντήκοντα πηχῶν μῆκος καὶ τριάκοντα ἐν πλάτει, ἐζυγωμένα, αἰλὰμ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτῶν, καὶ στῦλοι καὶ πάχος ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτῆς τοῖς αἰλαμμίν.	6 καὶ τὸ αἰλὰμ τῶν στύλων πεντήκοντα μῆκος καὶ πεντήκοντα ἐν πλάτει, ἐζυγωμένα, αἰλὰμ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτῶν, καὶ στῦλοι καὶ πάχος ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτῆς τοῖς αἰλαμμίμ.

7 Then he made a porch for the throne where he might judge, even the porch of judgment; and it was covered with cedar from one side of the floor to the other.

וְאוּלָם הַכִּסֵּא אֲשֶׁר יִשְׁפָּט ־ שָׁם אֻלָם הַמִּשְׁפָּט עָשָׂה וְסָפוּן בָּאֶרֶז מֵהַקַּרְקַע עַד ־ הַקַּרְקָע׃

8 And his house where he dwelt had another court within the porch, which was of the like work. Solomon made also a house for Pharaoh’s daughter, whom he had taken to wife, like to this porch.

9 All these were of costly stones, according to the measures of hewed stones, sawed with saws, within and without, even from the foundation to the coping, and so on the outside toward the great court.

כָּל ־ אֵלֶּה אֲבָנִים יְקָרֹת כְּמִדֹּת גָּזִית מְגֹרָרֹות בַּמְּגֵרָה מִבַּיִת וּמִחוּץ וּמִמַּסָּד עַד ־ הַטְּפָחֹות וּמִחוּץ עַד ־ הֶחָצֵר הַגְּדֹולָה׃

9 πάντα ταῦτα ἐκ λίθων τιμίων κεκολαμμένα ἐκ διαστήματος ἔσωθεν καὶ ἐκ τοῦ θεμελίου ἕως τῶν γεισῶν καὶ ἔξωθεν εἰς τὴν αὐλὴν τὴν μεγάλην	9 πάντας ταῦτα ἐκ λίθων τιμίων κεκολαμμένα ἐκ διαστήματος ἔσωθεν καὶ ἐκ τοῦ θεμελίου ἕως τῶν γεισῶν καὶ ἔξωθεν εἰς τὴν αὐλὴν τὴν μεγάλην

10 τὴν τεθεμελιωμένην ἐν τιμίοις λίθοις μεγάλοις, λίθοις δεκαπήχεσιν καὶ τοῖς ὀκταπήχεσιν,	10 τὴν τεθεμελιωμένην ἐν τιμίοις λίθοις μεγάλοις, λίθοις δεκαπήχεσι καὶ τοῖς ὀκταπήχεσι,

11 And above were costly stones, after the measures of hewed stones, and cedars.

12 And the great court all around was with three rows of hewed stones, and a row of cedar beams, both for the inner court of the house of Yahweh, and for the porch of the house.

וְחָצֵר הַגְּדֹולָה סָבִיב שְׁלֹשָׁה טוּרִים גָּזִית וְטוּר כְּרֻתֹת אֲרָזִים וְלַחֲצַר בֵּית ־ יְהוָה הַפְּנִימִית וּלְאֻלָם הַבָּיִת׃ פ

13 And king Solomon sent and fetched Hiram out of Tyre.

וַיִּשְׁלַח הַמֶּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה וַיִּקַּח אֶת ־ חִירָם מִצֹּר׃

14 He was a widow’s son of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father was a man of Tyre, a worker in bronze; and he was filled with wisdom, and understanding, and cunning to work all works in bronze. And he came to king Solomon, and wrought all his work.

בֶּן ־ אִשָּׁה אַלְמָנָה הוּא מִמַּטֵּה נַפְתָּלִי וְאָבִיו אִישׁ ־ צֹרִי חֹרֵשׁ נְחֹשֶׁת וַיִּמָּלֵא אֶת ־ הַחָכְמָה וְאֶת ־ הַתְּבוּנָה וְאֶת ־ הַדַּעַת לַעֲשֹׂות כָּל ־ מְלָאכָה בַּנְּחֹשֶׁת וַיָּבֹוא אֶל ־ הַמֶּלֶךְ שְׁלֹמֹה וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת ־ כָּל ־ מְלַאכְתֹּו׃

14 υἱὸν γυναικὸς χήρας, καὶ οὗτος ἀπὸ τῆς φυλῆς Νεφθαλί, καὶ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ ἀνὴρ Τύριος, τέκτων χαλκοῦ καὶ πεπληρωμένος τῆς τέχνης καὶ συνέσεως καὶ ἐπιγνώσεως τοῦ ποιεῖν πᾶν ἔργον ἐν χαλκῷ· καὶ εἰσήχθη πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Σαλωμὼν καὶ ἐποίησεν πάντα τὰ ἔργα.	14 υἱὸν γυναικὸς χήρας, καὶ οὗτος ἀπὸ τῆς φυλῆς τῆς Νεφθαλίμ, καὶ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ ἀνὴρ Τύριος, τέκτων χαλκοῦ καὶ πεπληρωμένος τῆς τέχνης καὶ συνέσεως καὶ ἐπιγνώσεως τοῦ ποιεῖν πᾶν ἔργον ἐν χαλκῷ· καὶ εἰσηνέχθη πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Σαλωμὼν καὶ ἐποίησε πάντας τὰ ἔργα.

15 For he cast two pillars of bronze, of 18 cubits high apiece; and a line of twelve cubits surrounded either of them about.

וַיָּצַר אֶת ־ שְׁנֵי הָעַמּוּדִים נְחֹשֶׁת שְׁמֹנֶה עֶשְׂרֵה אַמָּה קֹומַת הָעַמּוּד הָאֶחָד וְחוּט שְׁתֵּים ־ עֶשְׂרֵה אַמָּה יָסֹב אֶת ־ הָעַמּוּד הַשֵּׁנִי׃

15 καὶ ἐχώνευσεν τοὺς δύο στύλους τῷ αἰλὰμ τοῦ οἴκου, ὀκτωκαίδεκα πήχεις ὕψος τοῦ στύλου, καὶ περίμετρον τέσσαρες καὶ δέκα πήχεις ἐκύκλου αὐτόν, καὶ τὸ πάχος τοῦ στύλου τεσσάρων δακτύλων τὰ κοιλώματα, καὶ οὕτως ὁ στῦλος ὁ δεύτερος.	15 καὶ ἐχώνευσε τοὺς δύο στύλους τῷ αἰλὰμ τοῦ οἴκου, ὀκτωκαίδεκα πήχεις ὕψος τοῦ στύλου, καὶ περίμετρον τεσσαρεσκαίδεκα πήχεις ἐκύκλου αὐτόν, καὶ τὸ πάχος τοῦ στύλου τεσσάρων δακτύλων τὰ κοιλώματα, καὶ οὕτως ὁ στῦλος ὁ δεύτερος.

16 And he made two caps of molten bronze, to set on the tops of the pillars: the height of the one cap was five cubits, and the height of the other cap was five cubits.

וּשְׁתֵּי כֹתָרֹת עָשָׂה לָתֵת עַל ־ רָאשֵׁי הָעַמּוּדִים מֻצַק נְחֹשֶׁת חָמֵשׁ אַמֹּות קֹומַת הַכֹּתֶרֶת הָאֶחָת וְחָמֵשׁ אַמֹּות קֹומַת הַכֹּתֶרֶת הַשֵּׁנִית׃

16 καὶ δύο ἐπιθέματα ἐποίησεν δοῦναι ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς τῶν στύλων, χωνευτὰ χαλκᾶ· πέντε πήχεις τὸ ὕψος τοῦ ἐπιθέματος τοῦ ἑνός, καὶ πέντε πήχεις τὸ ὕψος τοῦ ἐπιθέματος τοῦ δευτέρου.	16 καὶ δύο ἐπιθέματα ἐποίησε δοῦναι ἐπὶ τὰς κεφαλὰς τῶν στύλων, χωνευτὰ χαλκᾶ· πέντε πήχεις τὸ ὕψος τοῦ ἐπιθέματος τοῦ ἑνός, καὶ πέντε πήχεις τὸ ὕψος τοῦ ἐπιθέματος τοῦ δευτέρου.
16 And he made two molten caps to put on the heads of the pillars: five cubits was the height of one cap, and five cubits was the height of the other cap.	16 And he made two molten caps to put on the heads of the pillars: five cubits was the height of one cap, and five cubits was the height of the other cap.

17 And networks of checker work, and wreaths of chain work, for the caps which were on the top of the pillars; seven for the one cap, and seven for the other cap.

שְׂבָכִים מַעֲשֵׂה שְׂבָכָה גְּדִלִים מַעֲשֵׂה שַׁרְשְׁרֹות לַכֹּתָרֹת אֲשֶׁר עַל ־ רֹאשׁ הָעַמּוּדִים שִׁבְעָה לַכֹּתֶרֶת הָאֶחָת וְשִׁבְעָה לַכֹּתֶרֶת הַשֵּׁנִית׃

17 καὶ ἐποίησεν δύο δίκτυα περικαλύψαι τὸ ἐπίθεμα τῶν στύλων, καὶ δίκτυον τῷ ἐπιθέματι τῷ ἑνί, καὶ δίκτυον τῷ ἐπιθέματι τῷ δευτέρῳ.	17 καὶ ἐποίησε δύο δίκτυα περικαλύψαι τὸ ἐπίθεμα τῶν στύλων, καὶ δίκτυον τῷ ἐπιθέματι τῷ ἑνί, καὶ δίκτυον τῷ ἐπιθέματι τῷ δευτέρῳ.
17 And he made two ornaments of network to cover the caps of the pillars; even a net for one cap, and a net for the other cap.	17 And he made two ornaments of network to cover the caps of the pillars; even a net for one cap, and a net for the other cap.

18 And he made the pillars, and two rows all around on the one network, to cover the caps that were on the top, with pomegranates; and so he did for the other cap.

וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת ־ הָעַמּוּדִים וּשְׁנֵי טוּרִים סָבִיב עַל ־ הַשְּׂבָכָה הָאֶחָת לְכַסֹּות אֶת ־ הַכֹּתָרֹת אֲשֶׁר עַל ־ רֹאשׁ הָרִמֹּנִים וְכֵן עָשָׂה לַכֹּתֶרֶת הַשֵּׁנִית׃

18 καὶ ἔργον κρεμαστόν, δύο στίχοι ῥοῶν χαλκῶν δεδικτυωμένοι, ἔργον κρεμαστόν, στίχος ἐπὶ στίχον· καὶ οὕτως ἐποίησεν τῷ ἐπιθέματι τῷ δευτέρῳ.	18 καὶ ἔργον κρεμαστόν, δύο στίχοι ῥοῶν χαλκῶν δεδικτυωμένοι, ἔργον κρεμαστόν, στίχος ἐπὶ στίχον· καὶ οὕτως ἐποίησε τῷ ἐπιθέματι τῷ δευτέρῳ.

19 And the caps that were on the top of the pillars were of lily work in the porch, four cubits.

וְכֹתָרֹת אֲשֶׁר עַל ־ רֹאשׁ הָעַמּוּדִים מַעֲשֵׂה שׁוּשַׁן בָּאוּלָם אַרְבַּע אַמֹּות׃

19 καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν κεφαλῶν τῶν στύλων ἔργον κρίνου κατὰ τὸ αἰλὰμ τεσσάρων πηχῶν.	19 καὶ ἐπὶ τῶν κεφαλῶν τῶν στύλων ἔργον κρίνου κατὰ τὸ αἰλὰμ τεσσάρων πηχῶν.

20 And the caps on the two pillars had pomegranates also above, over against the belly which was by the network; and the pomegranates were 200 in rows all around on the other cap.

וְכֹתָרֹת עַל ־ שְׁנֵי הָעַמּוּדִים גַּם ־ מִמַּעַל מִלְּעֻמַּת הַבֶּטֶן אֲשֶׁר לְעֵבֶר שְׂבָכָה וְהָרִמֹּונִים מָאתַיִם טֻרִים סָבִיב עַל הַכֹּתֶרֶת הַשֵּׁנִית׃

40 Καὶ ἐποίησεν Χιρὰμ τοὺς λέβητας καὶ τὰς θερμάστρεις καὶ τὰς φιάλας, καὶ συνετέλεσεν Χιρὰμ ποιῶν πάντα τὰ ἔργα, ἃ ἐποίησεν τῷ βασιλεῖ Σαλωμὼν ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου,	40 καὶ ἐποίησε Χιρὰμ τοὺς λέβητας καὶ τὰς θερμάστρεις καὶ τὰς φιάλας, καὶ συνετέλεσε Χιρὰμ ποιῶν πάντας τὰ ἔργα, ἃ ἐποίησε τῷ βασιλεῖ Σαλωμὼν ἐν οἴκῳ Κυρίου,

עַמֻּדִים שְׁנַיִם וְגֻלֹּת הַכֹּתָרֹת אֲשֶׁר ־ עַל ־ רֹאשׁ הָעַמֻּדִים שְׁתָּיִם וְהַשְּׂבָכֹות שְׁתַּיִם לְכַסֹּות אֶת ־ שְׁתֵּי גֻּלֹּת הַכֹּתָרֹת אֲשֶׁר עַל ־ רֹאשׁ הָעַמּוּדִים׃

42 τὰς ῥόας τετρακοσίας ἀμφοτέροις τοῖς δικτύοις, δύο στίχοι ῥοῶν τῷ δικτύῳ τῷ ἑνὶ περικαλύπτειν ἀμφότερα τὰ στρεπτὰ ἐπ’ ἀμφοτέροις τοῖς στύλοις,	42 τὰς ῥοὰς τετρακοσίας ἀμφοτέροις τοῖς δικτύοις, δύο στίχοι ῥοῶν τῷ δικτύῳ τῷ ἑνὶ περικαλύπτειν ἀμφότερα τὰ ὄντα τὰ στρεπτὰ τῆς μεχωνὼθ ἐπ’ ἀμφοτέροις τοῖς στύλοις,

46 In the plain of Jordan did the king cast them, in the clay ground between Succoth and Zarthan.

בְּכִכַּר הַיַּרְדֵּן יְצָקָם הַמֶּלֶךְ בְּמַעֲבֵה הָאֲדָמָה בֵּין סֻכֹּות וּבֵין צָרְתָן׃

46 ἐν τῷ περιοίκῳ τοῦ Ἰορδάνου ἐχώνευσεν αὐτὰ ὁ βασιλεὺς ἐν τῷ πάχει τῆς γῆς ἀνὰ μέσον Σοκχὼθ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον Σιρά.	46 ἐν τῷ περιοίκῳ τοῦ Ἰορδάνου ἐχώνευσεν αὐτὰ ἐν τῷ πάχει τῆς γῆς ἀνὰ μέσον Σοκχὼθ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον Σειρά.

47 οὐκ ἦν σταθμὸς τοῦ χαλκοῦ, οὗ ἐποίησεν πάντα τὰ ἔργα ταῦτα, ἐκ πλήθους σφόδρα· οὐκ ἦν τέρμα τῷ σταθμῷ τοῦ χαλκοῦ.	47 οὐκ ἦν σταθμὸς τοῦ χαλκοῦ, οὗ ἐποίησε πάντας τὰ ἔργα ταῦτα, ἐκ πλήθους σφόδρα· οὐκ ἦν τέρμα τῶν σταθμῶν τοῦ χαλκοῦ.

48 And Solomon made all the vessels that pertained to the house of Yahweh: the altar of gold, and the table of gold, on which the showbread was,

וַיַּעַשׂ שְׁלֹמֹה אֵת כָּל ־ הַכֵּלִים אֲשֶׁר בֵּית יְהוָה אֵת מִזְבַּח הַזָּהָב וְאֶת ־ הַשֻּׁלְחָן אֲשֶׁר עָלָיו לֶחֶם הַפָּנִים זָהָב׃

48 Καὶ ἔδωκεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμὼν τὰ σκεύη, ἃ ἐποίησεν, ἐν οἴκῳ κυρίου, τὸ θυσιαστήριον τὸ χρυσοῦν καὶ τὴν τράπεζαν, ἐφ’ ἧς οἱ ἄρτοι τῆς προσφορᾶς, χρυσῆν,	48 καὶ ἔδωκεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Σαλωμὼν τὰ σκεύη, ἃ ἐποίησεν, ἐν οἴκῳ Κυρίου, τὸ θυσιαστήριον τὸ χρυσοῦν καὶ τὴν τράπεζαν, ἐφ’ ἧς οἱ ἄρτοι τῆς προσφορᾶς, χρυσῆν,

49 καὶ τὰς λυχνίας, πέντε ἐκ δεξιῶν καὶ πέντε ἐξ ἀριστερῶν κατὰ πρόσωπον τοῦ δαβίρ, χρυσᾶς συγκλειομένας, καὶ τὰ λαμπάδια καὶ τοὺς λύχνους καὶ τὰς ἐπαρυστρίδας χρυσᾶς	49 καὶ τὰς λυχνίας πέντε ἐξ ἀριστερῶν καὶ πέντε ἐκ δεξιῶν κατὰ πρόσωπον τοῦ δαβίρ, χρυσᾶς συγκλειομένας, καὶ τὰ λαμπάδια καὶ τοὺς λύχνους καὶ τὰς ἐπαρυστρίδας χρυσᾶς

וְהַסִּפֹּות וְהַמְזַמְּרֹות וְהַמִּזְרָקֹות וְהַכַּפֹּות וְהַמַּחְתֹּות זָהָב סָגוּר וְהַפֹּתֹות לְדַלְתֹות הַבַּיִת הַפְּנִימִי לְקֹדֶשׁ הַקֳּדָשִׁים לְדַלְתֵי הַבַּיִת לַהֵיכָל זָהָב׃ פ

50 καὶ τὰ πρόθυρα καὶ οἱ ἧλοι καὶ αἱ φιάλαι καὶ τὰ τρύβλια καὶ αἱ θυίσκαι χρυσαῖ, συγκλειστά, καὶ τὰ θυρώματα τῶν θυρῶν τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ ἐσωτάτου, ἁγίου τῶν ἁγίων, καὶ τὰς θύρας τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ ναοῦ χρυσᾶς.	50 καὶ τὰ πρόθυρα καὶ οἱ ἧλοι καὶ αἱ φιάλαι καὶ τὰ τρυβλία καὶ αἱ θυΐσκαι χρυσαῖ, συγκλειστά, καὶ τὰ θυρώματα τῶν θυρῶν τοῦ οἴκου τοῦ ἐσωτάτου, ἁγίου τῶν ἁγίων, καὶ τὰς θύρας τοῦ ναοῦ χρυσᾶς.

51 So was ended all the work that king Solomon made for the house of Yahweh. And Solomon brought in the things which David his father had dedicated; even the silver, and the gold, and the vessels, did he put among the treasures of the house of Yahweh.

51 καὶ ἀνεπληρώθη πᾶν τὸ ἔργον, ὃ ἐποίησεν Σαλωμὼν οἴκου κυρίου, καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν Σαλωμὼν τὰ ἅγια Δαυὶδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντα τὰ ἅγια Σαλωμών, τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ τὸ χρυσίον καὶ τὰ σκεύη, ἔδωκεν εἰς τοὺς θησαυροὺς οἴκου κυρίου.	51 καὶ ἀνεπληρώθη πᾶν τὸ ἔργον, ὃν ἐποίησε Σαλωμὼν οἴκου Κυρίου, καὶ εἰσήνεγκε Σαλωμὼν τὰ ἅγια Δαυὶδ τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ πάντας τὰ ἅγια Σαλωμών, τὸ ἀργύριον καὶ τὸ χρυσίον καὶ τὰ σκεύη, ἔδωκεν εἰς τοὺς θησαυροὺς οἴκου Κυρίου.
