Genesis

1 And it happened, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he couldn’t see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said to him, “My son.” And he said to him, “Behold, here am I.”

1 ἐγένετο δὲ μετὰ τὸ γηρᾶσαι Ἰσαὰκ καὶ ἠμβλύνθησαν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ αὐτοῦ τοῦ ὁρᾶν, καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Ἡσαῦ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ τὸν πρεσβύτερον καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῷ, υἱέ μου· καὶ εἶπεν, ἰδοὺ ἐγώ.	1 Ἐγένετο δὲ μετὰ τὸ γηράσαι τὸν Ἰσαὰκ καὶ ἠμβλύνθησαν οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ αὐτοῦ τοῦ ὁρᾶν, καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Ἡσαῦ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ τὸν πρεσβύτερον καὶ εἶπε αὐτῷ· υἱέ μου· καὶ εἶπε· ἰδοὺ ἐγώ.

5 And Rebekah heard when Isaac spoke to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it.

8 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to what I command you.

11 And Jacōb said to Rebekah his mother, “Behold, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth man.

13 And his mother said to him, “Upon me be your curse, my son: only obey my voice, and go fetch me them.”

15 And Rebekah took good clothing of her eldest son Esau, which were with her in the house, and put them on Jacōb her younger son.

16 And she put the skins of the kids of the goats on his hands, and on the smooth of his neck.

17 And she gave the savoury food and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacōb.

19 And Jacōb said to his father, “I am Esau your firstborn; I have done according as you asked me: arise, please, sit and eat of my venison, that your soul may bless me.”

20 And Isaac said to his son, “How is it that you have found it so quickly, my son”? And he said, “Because Yahweh your Elohim brought it to me.”

20 And Isaac said to his son, “What is this which you have quickly found?” And he said, “That which the Lord your God presented before me.”	20 And Isaac said to his son, “What is this which you have quickly found?” And he said, “That which the Lord your God presented before me.”

21 And Isaac said to Jacōb, “Come near, please, that I may feel you, my son, whether you be my very son Esau or not.”

23 And he didn’t discern him, because his hands were hairy, as his brother Esau’s hands; so he blessed him.

24 And he said, “Are you my very son Esau?” And he said, “I am.”

25 καὶ εἶπεν, προσάγαγέ μοι, καὶ φάγομαι ἀπὸ τῆς θήρας σου, τέκνον, ἵνα εὐλογήσῃ σὲ ἡ ψυχή μου. καὶ προσήγαγεν αὐτῷ, καὶ ἔφαγεν· καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν αὐτῷ οἶνον, καὶ ἔπιεν.	25 καὶ εἶπε· προσάγαγέ μοι, καὶ φάγομαι ἀπὸ τῆς θήρας σου, τέκνον, ἵνα εὐλογήσῃ σε ἡ ψυχή μου. καὶ προσήνεγκεν αὐτῷ, καὶ ἔφαγε· καὶ εἰσήνεγκεν αὐτῷ οἶνον, καὶ ἔπιε.
25 And he said, “Bring it here, and I will eat from your game, child, in order that my soul may bless you.” And he brought it near to him, and he ate, and he brought him wine, and he drank.	25 And he said, “Bring it here, and I will eat from your game, child, in order that my soul may bless you.” And he brought it near to him, and he ate, and he brought him wine, and he drank.

26 And his father Isaac said to him, “Come near now, and kiss me, my son.”

27 And he came near, and kissed him; and he smelled the smell of his clothing, and blessed him, and said, “See, the smell of my son is as the smell of a field which Yahweh has blessed.

27 καὶ ἐγγίσας ἐφίλησεν αὐτόν, καὶ ὠσφράνθη τὴν ὀσμὴν τῶν ἱματίων αὐτοῦ καὶ ηὐλόγησεν αὐτὸν καὶ εἶπεν, ἰδοὺ ὀσμὴ τοῦ υἱοῦ μου ὡς ὀσμὴ ἀγροῦ πλήρους ὃν ηὐλόγησεν κύριος.	27 καὶ ἐγγίσας ἐφίλησεν αὐτόν, καὶ ὠσφράνθη τὴν ὀσμὴν τῶν ἱματίων αὐτοῦ καὶ εὐλόγησεν αὐτὸν καὶ εἶπε· ἰδοὺ ὀσμὴ τοῦ υἱοῦ μου ὡς ὀσμὴ ἀγροῦ πλήρους, ὃν εὐλόγησε Κύριος.
27 And he approached and kissed him, and smelled the odour of his clothes, and blessed him, and said, “Look! the odour of my son is as the odour of an abundant field, which the Lord has blessed.	27 And he approached and kissed him, and smelled the odour of his clothes, and blessed him, and said, “Look! the odour of my son is as the odour of an abundant field, which the Lord has blessed.

28 Therefore God give you of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of grain and wine.

30 And it happened, as soon as Isaac had made an end of blessing Jacōb, and Jacōb was yet scarce gone out from the presence of Isaac his father, that Esau his brother came in from his hunting.

39 ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ Ἰσαὰκ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ εἶπεν αὐτῷ, ἰδοὺ ἀπὸ τῆς πιότητος τῆς γῆς ἔσται ἡ κατοίκησίς σου καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς δρόσου τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἄνωθεν·	39 ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ Ἰσαὰκ ὁ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ εἶπε αὐτῷ· ἰδοὺ ἀπὸ τῆς πιότητος τῆς γῆς ἔσται ἡ κατοίκησίς σου καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς δρόσου τοῦ οὐρανοῦ ἄνωθεν.
