18:8 ἀπεκρίθη Ἰησοῦς, εἶπον ὑμῖν ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι.

Jesus answered him, “I have spoken openly to the world; I always taught in a synagogue and in the temple, where all the Jews assembled; and I spoke nothing in secret. 18:22 ταῦτα δὲ αὐτοῦ εἰπόντος εἷς παρεστηκὼς τῶν ὑπηρετῶν ἔδωκεν ῥάπισμα τῷ Ἰησοῦ εἰπών, οὕτως ἀποκρίνῃ τῷ ἀρχιερεῖ; 22 ταῦτα δὲ αὐτοῦ εἰπόντος, εἷς τῶν ὑπηρετῶν παρεστηκὼς ἔδωκε ῥάπισμα τῷ Ἰησοῦ, εἰπών, οὕτως ἀποκρίνῃ τῷ ἀρχιερεῖ;

Peter’s Denial of Jesus

18:25 Ἦν δὲ Σίμων Πέτρος ἑστὼς καὶ θερμαινόμενος.

18:28 Ἄγουσιν οὖν τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἀπὸ τοῦ Καϊάφα εἰς τὸ πραιτώριον· ἦν δὲ πρωΐ· καὶ αὐτοὶ οὐκ εἰσῆλθον εἰς τὸ πραιτώριον, ἵνα μὴ μιανθῶσιν ἀλλὰ φάγωσιν τὸ πάσχα. 28 Ἄγουσιν οὖν τὸν Ἰησοῦν ἀπὸ τοῦ Καϊάφα εἰς τὸ πραιτώριον.

18:30 ἀπεκρίθησαν καὶ εἶπαν αὐτῷ, εἰ μὴ ἦν οὗτος κακὸν ποιῶν, οὐκ ἄν σοι παρεδώκαμεν αὐτόν. 30 ἀπεκρίθησαν καὶ εἶπον αὐτῷ, εἰ μὴ ἦν οὗτος κακοποιός, οὐκ ἄν σοι παρεδώκαμεν αὐτόν.

18:31 εἶπεν οὖν αὐτοῖς Πιλᾶτος, λάβετε αὐτὸν ὑμεῖς καὶ κατὰ τὸν νόμον ὑμῶν κρίνατε αὐτόν.
εἶπον αὐτῷ οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι, ἡμῖν οὐκ ἔξεστιν ἀποκτεῖναι οὐδένα· 		31 εἶπεν οὖν αὐτοῖς ὁ Πιλάτος, λάβετε αὐτὸν ὑμεῖς, καὶ κατὰ τὸν νόμον ὑμῶν κρίνατε αὐτόν.
εἶπον οὖν αὐτῷ οἱ Ἰουδαῖοι, ἡμῖν οὐκ ἔξεστιν ἀποκτεῖναι οὐδένα·
So Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your Torah.” The Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put any man to death,” So Pilate said to them, “Take him yourselves, and judge him according to your Torah.” Then the Jews said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put any man to death,”

τὸ ἔθνος τὸ σὸν καὶ οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς παρέδωκάν σε ἐμοί· τί ἐποίησας; 		35 ἀπεκρίθη ὁ Πιλάτος, μήτι ἐγὼ Ἰουδαῖός εἰμι;

18:36 ἀπεκρίθη Ἰησοῦς, ἡ βασιλεία ἡ ἐμὴ οὐκ ἔστιν ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου τούτου· εἰ ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου τούτου ἦν ἡ βασιλεία ἡ ἐμὴ, οἱ ὑπηρέται οἱ ἐμοὶ ἠγωνίζοντο [ἄν] ἵνα μὴ παραδοθῶ τοῖς Ἰουδαίοις· νῦν δὲ ἡ βασιλεία ἡ ἐμὴ οὐκ ἔστιν ἐντεῦθεν. 36 ἀπεκρίθη ὁ Ἰησοῦς, ἡ βασιλεία ἡ ἐμὴ οὐκ ἔστιν ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου τούτου· εἰ ἐκ τοῦ κόσμου τούτου ἦν ἡ βασιλεία ἡ ἐμή, οἱ ὑπηρέται ἄν οἱ ἐμοὶ ἠγωνίζοντο, ἵνα μὴ παραδοθῶ τοῖς Ἰουδαίοις· νῦν δὲ ἡ βασιλεία ἡ ἐμὴ οὐκ ἔστιν ἐντεῦθεν.
Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, then my officers would be fighting so that I would not be handed over to the Jews; but now my kingdom is not from here.” Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. ἀπεκρίθη ὁ Ἰησοῦς, σὺ λέγεις ὅτι βασιλεύς εἰμι ἐγώ.
ἐγὼ εἰς τοῦτο γεγέννημαι, καὶ εἰς τοῦτο ἐλήλυθα εἰς τὸν κόσμον, ἵνα μαρτυρήσω τῇ ἀληθείᾳ.
πᾶς ὁ ὢν ἐκ τῆς ἀληθείας, ἀκούει μου τῆς φωνῆς.
Therefore Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, in order that I might testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears my voice.” Therefore Pilate said to him, “So you are a king?” Jesus answered, “You say that I am a king. 18:38 λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Πιλᾶτος, τί ἐστιν ἀλήθεια;
καὶ τοῦτο εἰπὼν πάλιν ἐξῆλθεν πρὸς τοὺς Ἰουδαίους καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς, ἐγὼ οὐδεμίαν εὑρίσκω ἐν αὐτῷ αἰτίαν. 		38 λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Πιλάτος, τί ἐστιν ἀλήθεια;
καὶ τοῦτο εἰπών, πάλιν ἐξῆλθε πρὸς τοὺς Ἰουδαίους, καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς, ἐγὼ οὐδεμίαν αἰτίαν εὑρίσκω ἐν αὐτῷ.

18:39 ἔστιν δὲ συνήθεια ὑμῖν ἵνα ἕνα ἀπολύσω ὑμῖν ἐν τῷ πάσχα· βούλεσθε οὖν ἀπολύσω ὑμῖν τὸν βασιλέα τῶν Ἰουδαίων; 39 ἔστι δὲ συνήθεια ὑμῖν, ἵνα ἕνα ὑμῖν ἀπολύσω ἐν τῷ πάσχα· βούλεσθε οὖν ὑμῖν ἀπολύσω τὸν βασιλέα τῶν Ἰουδαίων;

18:40 ἐκραύγασαν οὖν πάλιν λέγοντες, μὴ τοῦτον ἀλλὰ τὸν Βαραββᾶν.
ἦν δὲ ὁ Βαραββᾶς λῃστής. 		40 ἐκραύγασαν οὖν πάλιν πάντες, λέγοντες, μὴ τοῦτον, ἀλλὰ τὸν Βαραββᾶν· ἦν δὲ ὁ Βαραββᾶς λῃστής.
So they cried out again, saying, “Not this one, but Barabbas.” Now Barabbas was a robber. So they all cried out again, saying, “Not this one, but Barabbas.” Now Barabbas was a robber.
