Tradition of the Elders
(Mt 15.1‑20)

The Pharisees and some of the scribes gathered around him when they had come from Jerusalem, Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
7:2 καὶ ἰδόντες τινὰς τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ ὅτι κοιναῖς χερσίν, τοῦτ᾿ ἔστιν ἀνίπτοις, ἐσθίουσιν τοὺς ἄρτους 2 καὶ ἰδόντες τινὰς τῶν μαθητῶν αὐτοῦ κοιναῖς χερσί, τοῦτ᾿ ἔστιν ἀνίπτοις, ἐσθίοντας ἄρτους ἐμέμψαντο·

And he said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy concerning you hypocrites, as it has been written: ‘This people honours me with their lips, but their heart is far away from me. And he said to them, “Are you also so lacking in understanding? 7:22 μοιχεῖαι, πλεονεξίαι, πονηρίαι, δόλος, ἀσέλγεια, ὀφθαλμὸς πονηρός, βλασφημία, ὑπερηφανία, ἀφροσύνη, 22 πλεονεξίαι, πονηρίαι, δόλος, ἀσέλγεια, ὀφθαλμὸς πονηρός, βλασφημία, ὑπερηφανία, ἀφροσύνη.

(Mt 15.21‑28)

7:24 Ἐκεῖθεν δὲ ἀναστὰς ἀπῆλθεν εἰς τὰ ὅρια Τύρου.
καὶ εἰσελθὼν εἰς οἰκίαν οὐδένα ἤθελεν γνῶναι, καὶ οὐκ ἠδυνήθη λαθεῖν·

7:26  δὲ γυνὴ ἦν Ἑλληνίς, Συροφοινίκισσα τῷ γένει, καὶ ἠρώτα αὐτὸν ἵνα τὸ δαιμόνιον ἐκβάλῃ ἐκ τῆς θυγατρὸς αὐτῆς. 26 ἦν δὲ γυνὴ Ἑλληνίς, Συροφοίνισσα τῷ γένει· καὶ ἠρώτα αὐτὸν ἵνα τὸ δαιμόνιον ἐκβάλλῃ ἐκ τῆς θυγατρὸς αὐτῆς.

7:28  δὲ ἀπεκρίθη καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ, κύριε· καὶ τὰ κυνάρια ὑποκάτω τῆς τραπέζης ἐσθίουσιν ἀπὸ τῶν ψιχίων τῶν παιδίων. 28  δὲ ἀπεκρίθη καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ, ναί, κύριε· καὶ γὰρ τὰ κυνάρια ὑποκάτω τῆς τραπέζης ἐσθίει ἀπὸ τῶν ψιχίων τῶν παιδίων.
But she answered and said to him, “Oh, Lord, but the puppies under the table eat from the children’s crumbs.” But she answered and said to him, “Yes, Lord, for the puppies under the table eat from the children’s crumbs.”
7:29 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ, διὰ τοῦτον τὸν λόγον ὕπαγε, ἐξελήλυθεν ἐκ τῆς θυγατρός σου τὸ δαιμόνιον. 29 καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ, διὰ τοῦτον τὸν λόγον, ὕπαγε· ἐξελήλυθε τὸ δαιμόνιον ἐκ τῆς θυγατρός σου
And he said to her, “Because of this answer go; the demon has gone out of your daughter.” And he said to her, “Because of this answer go; the demon has gone out of your daughter.”

Deaf and Mute Man Healed

7:31 καὶ πάλιν ἐξελθὼν ἐκ τῶν ὁρίων Τύρου ἦλθεν διὰ Σιδῶνος εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν τῆς Γαλιλαίας ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ὁρίων Δεκαπόλεως. 31 καὶ πάλιν ἐξελθὼν ἐκ τῶν ὁρίων Τύρου καὶ Σιδῶνος, ἦλθε πρὸς τὴν θάλασσαν τῆς Γαλιλαίας, ἀνὰ μέσον τῶν ὁρίων Δεκαπόλεως.
