Isaiah

1 [M 8:23] Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations.

1 And the one who is in distress will not be perplexed for a season. 2 [M 9:1] The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light: they who dwell in the land of the shadow of death, on them has the light shined.

[M 9:2] You have multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before you according to the joy in harvest, and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

5 [M 9:4] For every battle of the warrior is with confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire.

6 [M 9:5] For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be on his shoulder; and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

7 [M 9:6] Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, on the throne of David, and on his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of Yahweh of armies will perform this.

7 His sovereignty is great, and his peace has no borders on the throne of David and his kingdom, to make it prosper and to secure it with righteousness and with judgment from now and to eternal time. 8 [M 9:7] The Lord sent a word into Jacōb, and it has lighted on Israēl.

10 [M 9:9] The bricks are fallen down, but we will build with hewn stones: the sycomores are cut down, but we will change them into cedars.

11 [M 9:10] Therefore Yahweh shall set up the adversaries of Rezin against him, and join his enemies together;

12 [M 9:11] The Syrians before, and the Philistines behind; and t11hey shall devour Israēl with open mouth. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

13 [M 9:12] For the people turns not to him who smites them, neither do they seek Yahweh of armies.

14 [M 9:13] Therefore Yahweh will cut off from Israēl head and tail, branch and rush, in one day.

15 [M 9:14] The ancient and honourable, he is the head; and the prophet that teaches lies, he is the tail.

16 [M 9:15] For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and they who are led of them are destroyed.

17 [M 9:16] Therefore the Lord shall have no joy in their young men, neither shall have mercy on their fatherless and widows; for everyone is a hypocrite and an evildoer, and every mouth speaks folly. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.

17 Therefore God will not rejoice over their young men, and he won’t have compassion on their orphans and their widows; because they are all lawless and evil, and every mouth speaks injustices. 18 [M 9:17] For wickedness burns as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke.

18 καὶ καυθήσεται ὡς πῦρ ἡ ἀνομία καὶ ὡς ἄγρωστις ξηρὰ βρωθήσεται ὑπὸ πυρός· καὶ καυθήσεται ἐν τοῖς δάσεσι τοῦ δρυμοῦ, καὶ συγκαταφάγεται τὰ κύκλῳ τῶν βουνῶν πάντα.	18 καὶ καυθήσεται ὡς πῦρ ἡ ἀνομία καὶ ὡς ἄγρωσις ξηρὰ βρωθήσεται ὑπὸ πυρός· καὶ καυθήσεται ἐν τοῖς δάσεσι τοῦ δρυμοῦ, καὶ συγκαταφάγεται τὰ κύκλῳ τῶν βουνῶν πάντας.

19 [M 9:18] Through the wrath of Yahweh of armies is the land darkened, and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.

19 διὰ θυμὸν ὀργῆς κυρίου συγκέκαυται ἡ γῆ ὅλη, καὶ ἔσται ὁ λαὸς ὡς ὑπὸ πυρὸς κατακεκαυμένος· ἄνθρωπος τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐλεήσει,	19 διὰ θυμὸν ὀργῆς Κυρίου συγκέκαυται ἡ γῆ ὅλη, καὶ ἔσται ὁ λαὸς ὡς κατακεκαυμένος ὑπὸ πυρός· ἄνθρωπος τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ οὐκ ἐλεήσει,

20 [M 9:19] And he shall snatch on the right hand, and be hungry; and he shall eat on the left hand, and they shall not be satisfied: they shall eat every man the flesh of his own arm.

20 ἀλλὰ ἐκκλινεῖ εἰς τὰ δεξιά, ὅτι πεινάσει, καὶ φάγεται ἐκ τῶν ἀριστερῶν, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐμπλησθῇ ἄνθρωπος ἔσθων τὰς σάρκας τοῦ βραχίονος αὐτοῦ.	20 ἀλλὰ ἐκκλινεῖ εἰς τὰ δεξιά, ὅτι πεινάσει καὶ φάγεται ἐκ τῶν ἀριστερῶν, καὶ οὐ μὴ ἐμπλησθῇ ἄνθρωπος ἔσθων τὰς σάρκας τοῦ βραχίονος αὐτοῦ.

21 [M 9:20] Manasseh, Ephraim; and Ephraim, Manasseh; and they together shall be against Judah. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
