5:2 And it was so, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his sight; and the king held out to Esther the golden sceptre that was in his hand. So Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.

| 5:5 And the king said, Hasten Aman here, that we may perform the word of Esther. So they both come to the feast of which Esther had spoken. | 5:5 Then the king said, “Bring Haman quickly so that we may do what Esther has said.” So both came to the dinner that Esther made, a sumptuous meal. |
5:6 And the king said to Esther at the banquet of wine, What is your petition? And it shall be granted you; and what is your request? Even to the half of the kingdom it shall be performed.

5:7 Then answered Esther, and said, My petition and my request is;

5:11 And Haman told them of the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, and all the things in which the king had promoted him, and how he had advanced him above the princes and servants of the king.

5:12 Haman said moreover, Yes, Esther the queen did let no man come in with the king to the banquet that she had prepared but myself; and tomorrow am I invited to her also with the king.

5:13 Yet all this avails me nothing, so long as I see Mordecai the Jew sitting at the king’s gate.

Ἰουδαίων
ἐστίν·
ἐπεὶ
συγκεχώρηκέ
σε
ὁ
βασιλεὺς
ἀφανίσαι
τοὺς
Ἰουδαίους,
καὶ
ἔδωκάν
σοι
οἱ
θεοὶ
εἰς
ἐκδίκησιν
αὐτῶν
ἡμέραν
ὀλέθριον,
κοπήτω
σοι
ξύλον
πηχῶν
πεντήκοντα,
καὶ
κείσθω,
καὶ
κρέμασον
αὐτὸν
ἐπὶ
τοῦ
ξύλου,
ὀρθρίσας
δὲ
πρὸς
τὸν
βασιλέα
λαλήσεις
αὐτῷ·
καὶ
νῦν
εἰσελθὼν
εὐφραίνου
πρὸς
τὸν
βασιλέα. καὶ ἤρεσε τῷ Ἁμάν, καὶ ἐποίησεν οὕτως. |
| 5:14 And Zosara his wife and his friends said to him, Let there be a gallows made for you of 50 cubits, and in the morning do you speak to the king, and let Mardochaios be hanged on the gallows; but do you go in to the feast with the king, and be merry. And the saying pleased Aman, and the gallows was prepared. | 5:14 Then his wife Zosara said to him, “He is from the race of the Judeans. Since the king has allowed you to destroy the Judeans and the gods have given you a day of destruction to take revenge on them, let a pole fifty cubitsa high be cut for you and be set up, and hang him on the pole. And early in the morning you shall speak to the king about him. And now go; rejoice with the king.” This pleased Haman, and he did so. |
