And in response to them, Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. And in response to them, Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, if you have faith and don’t doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but also if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.

(Mark 11:27‑33; Luke 20:1‑8)

21:23 Καὶ ἐλθόντος αὐτοῦ εἰς τὸ ἱερὸν προσῆλθον αὐτῷ διδάσκοντι οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τοῦ λαοῦ λέγοντες, ἐν ποίᾳ ἐξουσίᾳ ταῦτα ποιεῖς;
καὶ τίς σοι ἔδωκεν τὴν ἐξουσίαν ταύτην;
23 Καὶ ἐλθόντι αὐτῷ εἰς τὸ ἱερόν, προσῆλθον αὐτῷ διδάσκοντι οἱ ἀρχιερεῖς καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι τοῦ λαοῦ, λέγοντες, ἐν ποίᾳ ἐξουσίᾳ ταῦτα ποιεῖς;

In response to them, Jesus said, “I will also ask you one thing, which if you tell me, I will also tell you by what authority I do these things. in response to them, Jesus said, “I will also ask you one thing, which if you tell me, I will also tell you by what authority I do these things.
21:25 τὸ βάπτισμα τὸ Ἰωάννου πόθεν ἦν;
ἐξ οὐρανοῦ ἐξ ἀνθρώπων;
οἱ δὲ διελογίζοντο ἐν ἑαυτοῖς λέγοντες, ἐὰν εἴπωμεν, ἐξ οὐρανοῦ, ἐρεῖ ἡμῖν, διὰ τί οὖν οὐκ ἐπιστεύσατε αὐτῷ;
25 τὸ βάπτισμα Ἰωάννου πόθεν ἦν;
ἐξ οὐρανοῦ, ἐξ ἀνθρώπων;
οἱ δὲ διελογίζοντο παρ᾿ ἑαυτοῖς, λέγοντες, ἐὰν εἴπωμεν, ἐξ οὐρανοῦ, ἐρεῖ ἡμῖν, διατί οὖν οὐκ ἐπιστεύσατε αὐτῷ;
From where was the baptism of Jōhn from heaven or from men?” And they kept reasoning among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say to us, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’ From where was the baptism of Jōhn from heaven or from men?” And they kept reasoning among themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say to us, ‘Then why did you not believe him?’
And in response to Jesus, they said, “We don’t know.” And he said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.” And in response to Jesus, they said, “We don’t know.” And he said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”

Parable of Two Sons

21:28 Τί δὲ ὑμῖν δοκεῖ;
28 Τί δὲ ὑμῖν δοκεῖ;

And in response, he said, ‘I will not’; but afterward he regretted it and went. And in response, he said, ‘I will not’; but afterward he regretted it and went.

21:31 τίς ἐκ τῶν δύο ἐποίησεν τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πατρός;
31 τίς ἐκ τῶν δύο ἐποίησε τὸ θέλημα τοῦ πατρός;
Which of the two did the will of his father?” They said, “The first.” Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you that the tax collectors and prostitutes will get into the kingdom of God before you.
For Jōhn came to you in the way of righteousness and you didn’t believe him; but the tax collectors and prostitutes did believe him; and after seeing this, you didn’t regret afterward so as to believe him. For Jōhn came to you in the way of righteousness and you didn’t believe him; but the tax collectors and prostitutes did believe him; and after seeing this, you didn’t regret afterward so as to believe him.
