I Samuel

1 Now the Philistines gathered together their armies to battle, and were gathered together at Shochoh, which belongs to Judah, and camped between Shochoh and Azekah, in Ephes-dammim.

8 And he stood and cried to the armies of Israēl, and said to them, Why are you come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and you servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.

8 And he stood and shouted to the battle array of Israēl and said to them, “Why do you come out to arrange for battle opposite us? Am I not an allophyle, and are you Hebrews of Saoul? 10 And the allophyle said, “Look! today on this very day I have challenged the battle array of Israēl. 26 And David spoke to the men who stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man who kills this Philistine, and takes away the reproach from Israēl? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?

I know your pride, and the naughtiness of your heart; for you are come down that you might see the battle.

I know your pride and the evil of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle.”
