They did so, and caused them all to lie down. They did so, and caused them all to lie down.

9:18 Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ εἶναι αὐτὸν προσευχόμενον κατὰ μόνας συνῆσαν αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταί, καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτοὺς λέγων, τίνα με λέγουσιν οἱ ὄχλοι εἶναι; 18 Καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ εἶναι αὐτὸν προσευχόμενον καταμόνας, συνῆσαν αὐτῷ οἱ μαθηταί· καὶ ἐπηρώτησεν αὐτούς, λέγων, τίνα με λέγουσιν οἱ ὄχλοι εἶναι;

And in response, they said, “Jōhn the Baptist, and others say Ēlijah; but others, that one of the prophets of old has risen.” And in response, they said, “Jōhn the Baptist, and others say Ēlijah; but others, that one of the prophets of old has risen.”

Jesus Foretells His Death and Resurrection
(Matt 16:20-28; Mark 8:30-9:1)

But after warning them, he instructed them not to tell this to anyone, But after warning them, he instructed them not to tell this to anyone,
And he was saying to them all, “If anyone wants to come after me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross day by day and follow me. And he was saying to them all, “If anyone wants to come after me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross day by day and follow me.
9:25 τί γὰρ ὠφελεῖται ἄνθρωπος κερδήσας τὸν κόσμον ὅλον ἑαυτὸν δὲ ἀπολέσας ζημιωθείς; 25 τί γὰρ ὠφελεῖται ἄνθρωπος, κερδήσας τὸν κόσμον ὅλον, ἑαυτὸν δὲ ἀπολέσας ζημιωθείς;
For what does a man profit after gaining the whole world but after losing or forfeiting himself? For what does a man profit after gaining the whole world but after losing or forfeiting himself?
For whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that one when he comes in the glory of him, of the Father, and of the holy angels. For whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of that one when he comes in the glory of him, of the Father, and of the holy angels.
But I say to you truthfully, there are some of those standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.” But I say to you truthfully, there are some of those standing here who will not taste death until they see the kingdom of God.”

And in response, Jesus said, “Oh, you unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you and endure you? Bring your son here.” And in response, Jesus said, “Oh, you unbelieving and perverted generation, how long shall I be with you and endure you? Bring your son here.”

In response, Jōhn said, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name; and we kept preventing him because he doesn’t follow along with us.” In response, Jōhn said, “Master, we saw someone casting out demons in your name; and we kept preventing him because he doesn’t follow along with us.”
