Teaching about Judging
(Luke 6:37-38, 41-42)

“Stop judging in order that you may not be judged. “Stop judging in order that you may not be judged.
For with the judgment you judge, you will be judged; and by your measurement, it will be measured to you. For with the judgment you judge, you will be judged; and by your measurement, it will be measured to you.
7:3 τί δὲ βλέπεις τὸ κάρφος τὸ ἐν τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου, τὴν δὲ ἐν τῷ σῷ ὀφθαλμῷ δοκὸν οὐ κατανοεῖς; 3 τί δὲ βλέπεις τὸ κάρφος τὸ ἐν τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ τοῦ ἀδελφοῦ σου, τὴν δὲ ἐν τῷ σῷ ὀφθαλμῷ δοκὸν οὐ κατανοεῖς;
Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t notice the log that is in your own eye? Why do you look at the speck that is in your brother’s eye, but don’t notice the log that is in your own eye?
7:4  πῶς ἐρεῖς τῷ ἀδελφῷ σου, Ἄφες ἐκβάλω τὸ κάρφος ἐκ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ σου, καὶ ἰδοὺ δοκὸς ἐν τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ σοῦ; 4  πῶς ἐρεῖς τῷ ἀδελφῷ σου, Ἄφες ἐκβάλω τὸ κάρφος ἀπὸ τοῦ ὀφθαλμοῦ σου· καὶ ἰδού, δοκὸς ἐν τῷ ὀφθαλμῷ σοῦ;
Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me pull out the speck out of your eye,’ and look! the log is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me pull out the speck out of your eye,’ and look! the log is in your own eye?
Oh hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye. Oh hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
Don’t begin to give what is holy to dogs, and don’t begin to throw your pearls before the pigs, or else they will trample them under their feet, and after turning, they might tear you apart. Don’t begin to give what is holy to dogs, and don’t begin to throw your pearls before the pigs, or else they will trample them under their feet, and after turning, they might tear you apart.

Teaching about Persistence in Prayer
(Luke 11:9-13)

Keep on asking and it will be given to you; keep on seeking, and you will find; keep on knocking, and it will be opened to you. Keep on asking and it will be given to you; keep on seeking, and you will find; keep on knocking, and it will be opened to you.
For everyone who keeps on asking keeps on receiving, and he who keeps on seeking keeps on finding, and to him who keeps on knocking it will be opened. For everyone who keeps on asking keeps on receiving, and he who keeps on seeking keeps on finding, and to him who keeps on knocking it will be opened.
7:9  τίς ἐξ ὑμῶν ἄνθρωπος, ὃν αἰτήσει υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἄρτον, μὴ λίθον ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ; 9  τίς ἐστιν ἐξ ὑμῶν ἄνθρωπος, ὃν ἐὰν αἰτήσῃ υἱὸς αὐτοῦ ἄρτον, μὴ λίθον ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ;
Or what man among you, when his son asks for food, he won’t give him a stone, will he? Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for food, he won’t give him a stone, will he?
7:10  καὶ ἰχθὺν αἰτήσει, μὴ ὄφιν ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ; 10 καὶ ἐὰν ἰχθὺν αἰτήσῃ, μὴ ὄφιν ἐπιδώσει αὐτῷ;
Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? And if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he?
If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in the heavens give good things to those who ask him. If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in the heavens give good things to those who ask him.

The Broad Way vs The Narrow Way
(Luke 13:24)

Enter through the narrow gate; because the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads away to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. Enter through the narrow gate; because the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads away to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.
For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads away to life, and there are few who find it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads away to life, and there are few who find it.

A Tree Known by Its Fruit
(Luke 6:43-44)

μήτι συλλέγουσιν ἀπὸ ἀκανθῶν σταφυλὰς ἀπὸ τριβόλων σῦκα;
16 ἀπὸ τῶν καρπῶν αὐτῶν ἐπιγνώσεσθε αὐτούς· μήτι συλλέγουσιν ἀπὸ ἀκανθῶν σταφυλήν, ἀπὸ τριβόλων σῦκα;
From their fruits you will know them. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? From their fruits you will know them. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they?
Every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Every tree that doesn’t produce good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.
Therefore indeed, you will know them by their fruits. Therefore indeed, you will know them by their fruits.

Doing vs Saying
(Luke 13:25-27)

Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of the heavens, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in the heavens. Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of the heavens, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heavens.

Two Foundations
(Luke 6:47-49)

And the rain fell, and the rivers came, and the winds blew and struck against that house; and yet it didn’t fall, for it had been grounded on the rock. And the rain fell, and the rivers came, and the winds blew and smashed against that house; and yet it didn’t fall, for it had been grounded on the rock.
for he was teaching them as one having authority, and not as their scribes. for he was teaching them as one having authority, and not as the scribes.
