(Mark 15:1; Luke 23:1‑2; Jōhn 18:28‑32)

and after tying him, they led him away and delivered him to Pilate the governor. | and after tying him, they led him away and delivered him to Pontius Pilate the governor. |
The Death of Judas
(Acts 1:18‑19)

saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” But they said, “What is that to us? See to that yourself!” | saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.” But they said, “What is that to us? See to that yourself!” |
And after throwing the silver coins into the temple, he departed; and after going away, he hanged himself. | And after throwing the silver coins into the temple, he departed; and after going away, he hanged himself. |
But after taking the silver coins, the chief priests said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood.” | But after taking the silver coins, the chief priests said, “It is not lawful to put them into the treasury, since it is the price of blood.” |
And after taking counsel together, they bought with them the Potter’s Field as a burial place for foreigners. | And after taking counsel together, they bought with them the Potter’s Field as a burial place for foreigners. |
Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day. | Therefore that field has been called the Field of Blood to this day. |

and they gave them for the Potter’s Field, just as the Lord directed me.”[1] | and they gave them for the Potter’s Field, just as the Lord directed me.”[1] |
Jesus Questioned by Pilate
(Mark 15:2‑5; Luke 23:3‑5; Jōhn 18:33‑38)
27:11 Ὁ

καὶ
ὁ

And while he was being accused by the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. | And while he was being accused by the chief priests and the elders, he answered nothing. |
Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many things they testify against you?” | Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many things they testify against you?” |
And he didn’t answer him with regard to even one word, so the governor was very amazed. | And he didn’t answer him with regard to even one word, so the governor was very amazed. |
Jesus Sentenced to Die
(Mark 15:6‑15; Luke 23:13‑25; Jōhn 18:39–19:16)
Now in regard to the feast, the governor was accustomed to release for the crowd one prisoner whom they wanted. | Now in regard to the feast, the governor was accustomed to release for the crowd one prisoner whom they wanted. |
At that time they were holding a notorious prisoner, called [Jesus] Barabbas. | At that time they were holding a notorious prisoner, called Barabbas. |

Then after they gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release for you: [Jesus] Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?” | Then after they gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release for you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?” |
For he knew that because of jealousy they had handed him over. | For he knew that because of jealousy they had handed him over. |
While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man; for last night I suffered many things in a dream because of him.” | While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent to him, saying, “Have nothing to do with that righteous man; for last night I suffered many things in a dream because of him.” |
But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds in order that they should ask for Barabbas and to put Jesus to death. | But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds in order that they should ask for Barabbas and to put Jesus to death. |

ὁ

τὸν

After seeing that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that a riot was happening, Pilate took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this man’s blood; see to that yourselves.” | After seeing that he was accomplishing nothing, but rather that a riot was happening, Pilate took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd, saying, “I am innocent of this righteous man’s blood; see to that yourselves.” |

And in response, all the people said, “His blood shall be on us and on our children!” | And in response, all the people said, “His blood shall be on us and on our children!” |
