Ezekiel

1 And the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

בֶּן ־ אָדָם שִׂים פָּנֶיךָ אֶל ־ גֹּוג אֶרֶץ הַמָּגֹוג נְשִׂיא רֹאשׁ מֶשֶׁךְ וְתֻבָל וְהִנָּבֵא עָלָיו׃

4 And I will turn you back, and put hooks into your jaws, and I will bring you forth, and all your army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts of armour, even a great company with bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords.

וְשֹׁובַבְתִּיךָ וְנָתַתִּי חַחִים בִּלְחָיֶיךָ וְהֹוצֵאתִי אֹותְךָ וְאֶת ־ כָּל ־ חֵילֶךָ סוּסִים וּפָרָשִׁים לְבֻשֵׁי מִכְלֹול כֻּלָּם קָהָל רָב צִנָּה וּמָגֵן תֹּפְשֵׂי חֲרָבֹות כֻּלָּם׃

4 καὶ συνάξω σὲ καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν δύναμίν σου, ἵππους καὶ ἱππεῖς ἐνδεδυμένους θώρακας πάντας, συναγωγὴ πολλή, πέλται καὶ περικεφαλαῖαι καὶ μάχαιραι,	4 καὶ συνάξω σε καὶ πᾶσαν τὴν δύναμίν σου, ἵππος καὶ ἱππεῖς ἐνδεδυμένους θώρακας πάντας, συναγωγῇ πολλῇ, πέλται καὶ περικεφαλαῖαι καὶ μάχαιραι,

פָּרַס כּוּשׁ וּפוּט אִתָּם כֻּלָּם מָגֵן וְכֹובָע׃

גֹּמֶר וְכָל ־ אֲגַפֶּיהָ בֵּית תֹּוגַרְמָה יַרְכְּתֵי צָפֹון וְאֶת ־ כָּל ־ אֲגַפָּיו עַמִּים רַבִּים אִתָּךְ׃

הִכֹּן וְהָכֵן לְךָ אַתָּה וְכָל ־ קְהָלֶךָ הַנִּקְהָלִים עָלֶיךָ וְהָיִיתָ לָהֶם לְמִשְׁמָר׃

8 After many days you shall be visited: in the latter years you shall come into the land that is brought back from the sword, and is gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israēl, which have been always waste; but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.

9 You shall ascend and come like a storm, you shall be like a cloud to cover the land, you, and all your bands, and many people with you.

וְעָלִיתָ כַּשֹּׁאָה תָבֹוא כֶּעָנָן לְכַסֹּות הָאָרֶץ תִּהְיֶה אַתָּה וְכָל ־ אֲגַפֶּיךָ וְעַמִּים רַבִּים אֹותָךְ׃ ס

9 καὶ ἀναβήσῃ ὡς ὑετὸς καὶ ἥξεις ὡς νεφέλη κατακαλύψαι γῆν καὶ ἔσῃ σὺ καὶ πάντες οἱ περὶ σὲ καὶ ἔθνη πολλὰ μετὰ σου.	9 καὶ ἀναβήσῃ ὡς ὑετὸς καὶ ἥξεις ὡς νεφέλη κατακαλύψαι γῆν καὶ ἔσῃ σὺ καὶ πάντες οἱ περὶ σὲ καὶ ἔθνη πολλὰ μετὰ σοῦ.

10 Thus says Adonai Yahweh; It shall also come to pass, that at the same time shall things come into your mind, and you shall think an evil thought.

וְאָמַרְתָּ אֶעֱלֶה עַל ־ אֶרֶץ פְּרָזֹות אָבֹוא הַשֹּׁקְטִים יֹשְׁבֵי לָבֶטַח כֻּלָּם יֹשְׁבִים בְּאֵין חֹומָה וּבְרִיחַ וּדְלָתַיִם אֵין לָהֶם׃

11 καὶ ἐρεῖς ἀναβήσομαι ἐπὶ γῆν ἀπερριμμένην, ἥξω ἐπὶ ἡσυχάζοντας ἐν ἡσυχίᾳ καὶ οἰκοῦντας ἐπ’ εἰρήνης, πάντας κατοικοῦντας γῆν, ἐν ᾗ οὐχ ὑπάρχει τεῖχος οὐδὲ μοχλοί, καὶ θύραι οὐκ εἰσὶν αὐτοῖς,	11 καὶ ἐρεῖς· ἀναβήσομαι ἐπὶ γῆν ἀπερριμμένην, ἥξω ἐπὶ ἡσυχάζοντας ἐν ἡσυχίᾳ καὶ οἰκοῦντας ἐπ’ εἰρήνης, πάντας κατοικοῦντας γῆν, ἐν ᾗ οὐχ ὑπάρχει τεῖχος οὐδὲ μοχλοί, καὶ θύραι οὐκ εἰσὶν αὐτοῖς.

12 To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn your hand on the desolate places that are now inhabited, and on the people that are gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land.

לִשְׁלֹל שָׁלָל וְלָבֹז בַּז לְהָשִׁיב יָדְךָ עַל ־ חֳרָבֹות נֹושָׁבֹת וְאֶל ־ עַם מְאֻסָּף מִגֹּויִם עֹשֶׂה מִקְנֶה וְקִנְיָן יֹשְׁבֵי עַל ־ טַבּוּר הָאָרֶץ׃

13 Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions of it, shall say to you, Are you come to take a spoil? Have you gathered your company to take a prey? To carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?

14 Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say to Gog, Thus says Adonai Yahweh; In that day when my people of Israēl dwells safely, you shall not know it?

לָכֵן הִנָּבֵא בֶן ־ אָדָם וְאָמַרְתָּ לְגֹוג כֹּה אָמַר אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה הֲלֹוא בַּיֹּום הַהוּא בְּשֶׁבֶת עַמִּי יִשְׂרָאֵל לָבֶטַח תֵּדָע׃

14 διὰ τοῦτο προφήτευσον, υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, καὶ εἰπὸν τῷ Γὼγ τάδε λέγει κύριος οὐκ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἐν τῷ κατοικισθῆναι τὸν λαόν μου Ἰσραὴλ ἐπ’ εἰρήνης ἐγερθήσῃ;	14 διὰ τοῦτο προφήτευσον, υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, καὶ εἰπὸν τῷ Γώγ· τάδε λέγει Κύριος· οὐκ ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἐν τῷ κατοικισθῆναι τόν λαόν μου Ἰσραὴλ ἐπ’ εἰρήνης ἐγερθήσῃ;

וּבָאתָ מִמְּקֹומְךָ מִיַּרְכְּתֵי צָפֹון אַתָּה וְעַמִּים רַבִּים אִתָּךְ רֹכְבֵי סוּסִים כֻּלָּם קָהָל גָּדֹול וְחַיִל רָב׃

15 καὶ ἥξεις ἐκ τοῦ τόπου σου ἀπ’ ἐσχάτου βορρᾶ καὶ ἔθνη πολλὰ μετὰ σου, ἀναβάται ἵππων πάντες, συναγωγὴ μεγάλη καὶ δύναμις πολλή,	15 καὶ ἥξεις ἐκ τοῦ τόπου σου ἀπ’ ἐσχάτου βορρᾶ καὶ ἔθνη πολλὰ μετὰ σοῦ, ἀναβάται ἵππων πάντες, συναγωγὴ μεγάλη καὶ δύναμις πολλή,
15 and come out of your place from the farthest north, and many nations with you? 16 And you shall come up against my people of Israēl, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring you against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be consecrated in you, Oh Gog, before their eyes.

16 καὶ ἀναβήσῃ ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν μου Ἰσραὴλ ὡς νεφέλη καλύψαι γῆν· ἐπ’ ἐσχάτων τῶν ἡμερῶν ἔσται, καὶ ἀνάξω σὲ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν μου, ἵνα γνῶσιν πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐμὲ ἐν τῷ ἁγιασθῆναί με ἐν σοί ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν.	16 καὶ ἀναβήσῃ ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν μου Ἰσραὴλ ὡς νεφέλη καλύψαι γῆν· ἐπ’ ἐσχάτων τῶν ἡμερῶν ἔσται, καὶ ἀνάξω σε ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν μου, ἵνα γνῶσι πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἐμὲ ἐν τῷ ἁγιασθῆναί με ἐν σοί ἐνώπιον αὐτῶν.

17 Thus says Adonai Yahweh; Are you he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israēl, which prophesied in those days many years that I would bring you against them?

17 τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος τῷ Γὼγ σὺ εἶ περὶ οὗ ἐλάλησα πρὸ ἡμερῶν τῶν ἔμπροσθεν διὰ χειρὸς τῶν δούλων μου προφητῶν τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ ἔτεσιν τοῦ ἀγαγεῖν σὲ ἐπ’ αὐτούς.	17 τάδε λέγει Κύριος Κύριος τῷ Γώγ· σὺ εἶ περὶ οὗ ἐλάλησα πρὸ ἡμερῶν τῶν ἔμπροσθεν διά χειρὸς τῶν δούλων μου τῶν προφητῶν τοῦ Ἰσραήλ, ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις ἐκείναις καὶ ἔτεσι, τοῦ ἀναγαγεῖν σε ἐπ’ αὐτούς.

18 And it will happen at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israēl, says Adonai Yahweh, that my fury shall come up in my face.

וְהָיָה בַּיֹּום הַהוּא בְּיֹום בֹּוא גֹוג עַל ־ אַדְמַת יִשְׂרָאֵל נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה תַּעֲלֶה חֲמָתִי בְּאַפִּי׃

18 καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ, ἐκείνῃ ἐν ἡμέρᾳ ᾗ ἄν ἔλθῃ Γὼγ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν τοῦ Ἰσραήλ, λέγει κύριος κύριος, ἀναβήσεται ὁ θυμός μου	18 καὶ ἔσται ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ, ἐν ἡμέρᾳ, ᾗ ἄν ἔλθῃ Γὼγ ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν τοῦ Ἰσραήλ, λέγει Κύριος Κύριος, ἀναβήσεται ὁ θυμός μου

19 For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israēl;

וּבְקִנְאָתִי בְאֵשׁ ־ עֶבְרָתִי דִּבַּרְתִּי אִם ־ לֹא בַּיֹּום הַהוּא יִהְיֶה רַעַשׁ גָּדֹול עַל אַדְמַת יִשְׂרָאֵל׃

19 καὶ ὁ ζῆλός μου, ἐν πυρὶ τῆς ὀργῆς μου ἐλάλησα εἰ μὴν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἔσται σεισμὸς μέγας ἐπὶ γῆς Ἰσραήλ,	19 καὶ ὁ ζῆλός μου. ἐν πυρὶ τῆς ὀργῆς μου ἐλάλησα, εἰ μὴν ἐν τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ ἔσται σεισμὸς μέγας ἐπὶ γῆς Ἰσραήλ.

20 So that the fish of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep on the earth, and all the men who are on the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.

וְרָעֲשׁוּ מִפָּנַי דְּגֵי הַיָּם וְעֹוף הַשָּׁמַיִם וְחַיַּת הַשָּׂדֶה וְכָל ־ הָרֶמֶשׂ הָרֹמֵשׂ עַל ־ הָאֲדָמָה וְכֹל הָאָדָם אֲשֶׁר עַל ־ פְּנֵי הָאֲדָמָה וְנֶהֶרְסוּ הֶהָרִים וְנָפְלוּ הַמַּדְרֵגֹות וְכָל ־ חֹומָה לָאָרֶץ תִּפֹּול׃

20 καὶ σεισθήσονται ἀπὸ προσώπου κυρίου οἱ ἰχθύες τῆς θαλάσσης καὶ τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ τὰ θηρία τοῦ πεδίου καὶ πάντα τὰ ἑρπετὰ τὰ ἕρποντα ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄνθρωποι οἱ ἐπὶ προσώπου τῆς γῆς, καὶ ῥαγήσεται τὰ ὄρη, καὶ πεσοῦνται αἱ φάραγγες, καὶ πᾶν τεῖχος ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν πεσεῖται.	20 καὶ σεισθήσονται ἀπὸ προσώπου Κυρίου οἱ ἰχθύες τῆς θαλάσσης καὶ τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ τὰ θηρία τοῦ πεδίου καὶ πάντα τὰ ἑρπετὰ τὰ ἕρποντα ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς, καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄνθρωποι οἱ ἐπὶ προσώπου τῆς γῆς, καὶ ῥαγήσεται τά ὄρη καὶ πεσοῦνται αἱ φάραγγες, καὶ πᾶν τεῖχος ἐπὶ τὴν γῆν πεσεῖται.

21 And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, says Adonai Yahweh: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.

וְקָרָאתִי עָלָיו לְכָל ־ הָרַי חֶרֶב נְאֻם אֲדֹנָי יְהוִה חֶרֶב אִישׁ בְּאָחִיו תִּהְיֶה׃

22 And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain on him, and on his bands, and on the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

וְנִשְׁפַּטְתִּי אִתֹּו בְּדֶבֶר וּבְדָם וְגֶשֶׁם שֹׁוטֵף וְאַבְנֵי אֶלְגָּבִישׁ אֵשׁ וְגָפְרִית אַמְטִיר עָלָיו וְעַל ־ אֲגַפָּיו וְעַל ־ עַמִּים רַבִּים אֲשֶׁר אִתֹּו׃

23 Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

וְהִתְגַּדִּלְתִּי וְהִתְקַדִּשְׁתִּי וְנֹודַעְתִּי לְעֵינֵי גֹּויִם רַבִּים וְיָדְעוּ כִּי ־ אֲנִי יְהוָה׃ ס

23 καὶ μεγαλυνθήσομαι καὶ ἁγιασθήσομαι καὶ ἐνδοξασθήσομαι καὶ γνωσθήσομαι ἐναντίον ἐθνῶν πολλῶν, καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος.	23 καὶ μεγαλυνθήσομαι καὶ ἁγιασθήσομαι καὶ ἐνδοξασθήσομαι καὶ γνωσθήσομαι ἐναντίον ἐθνῶν πολλῶν. καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος.
