Ezekiel

1 The word of Yahweh came again to me, saying,

2 Son of man, say to the prince of Tyrus, Thus says Adonai Yahweh; Because your heart is lifted up, and you have said, I am a God, I sit in the seat of God, in the midst of the seas; yet you are a man, and not God, though you set your heart as the heart of God.

2 καὶ σύ, υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, εἰπὸν τῷ ἄρχοντι Τύρου τάδε λέγει κύριος ἀνθ’ ὧν ὑψώθη σου ἡ καρδία, καὶ εἶπας θεός εἰμι ἐγώ, κατοικίαν θεοῦ κατῴκηκα ἐν καρδίᾳ θαλάσσης, σὺ δὲ εἶ ἄνθρωπος καὶ οὐ θεὸς καὶ ἔδωκας τὴν καρδίαν σου ὡς καρδίαν θεοῦ,	2 καὶ σὺ υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, εἰπὸν τῷ ἄρχοντι Τύρου· τάδε λέγει Κύριος· ἀνθ’ ὧν ὑψώθη σου ἡ καρδία, καὶ εἶπας· θεός εἰμι ἐγώ, κατοικίαν θεοῦ κατῴκησα ἐν καρδίᾳ θαλάσσης, σὺ δὲ εἶ ἄνθρωπος καὶ οὐ Θεός, καὶ ἔδωκας τὴν καρδίαν σου ὡς καρδίαν Θεοῦ.

3 Behold, you are wiser than Daniel; there is no secret that they can hide from you.

4 With your wisdom and with your understanding you have gotten you riches, and have gotten gold and silver into your treasures.

4 μὴ ἐν τῇ ἐπιστήμῃ σου ἢ ἐν τῇ φρονήσει σου ἐποίησας σεαυτῷ δύναμιν καὶ χρυσίον καὶ ἀργύριον ἐν τοῖς θησαυροῖς σου;	4 μὴ ἐν τῇ ἐπιστήμῃ σου ἢ τῇ φρονήσει σου ἐποίησας σεαυτῷ δύναμιν καὶ χρυσίον καὶ ἀργύριον ἐν τοῖς θησαυροῖς σου;

5 By your great wisdom and by your trade have you increased your riches, and your heart is lifted up because of your riches.

6 Therefore thus says Adonai Yahweh; Because you have set your heart as the heart of God;

7 Behold, therefore I will bring strangers on you, the terrible of the nations; and they shall draw their swords against the beauty of your wisdom, and they shall defile your brightness.

7 ἀντὶ τούτου ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐπὶ σὲ ἀλλοτρίους λοιμοὺς ἀπὸ ἐθνῶν, καὶ ἐκκενώσουσιν τὰς μαχαίρας αὐτῶν ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ κάλλος τῆς ἐπιστήμης σου καὶ στρώσουσιν τὸ κάλλος σου εἰς ἀπώλειαν	7 ἀντὶ τούτου ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἐπὶ σὲ ἀλλοτρίους λοιμοὺς ἀπὸ ἐθνῶν, καὶ ἐκκενώσουσι τὰς μαχαίρας αὐτῶν ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ ἐπὶ τὸ κάλλος τῆς ἐπιστήμης σου καὶ στρώσουσι τὸ κάλλος σου εἰς ἀπώλειαν·

8 and they shall bring down your beauty to destruction. 9 Will you yet say before him who slays you, I am God? But you shall be a man, and no God, in the hand of him who slays you.

10 You shall die the deaths of the uncircumcised by the hand of strangers; for I have spoken it, says Adonai Yahweh.

11 Moreover the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

12 Son of man, take up a lamentation on the king of Tyrus, and say to him, Thus says Adonai Yahweh; You seal up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

12 υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, λαβὲ θρῆνον ἐπὶ τὸν ἄρχοντα Τύρου καὶ εἰπὸν αὐτῷ τάδε λέγει κύριος κύριος σὺ ἀποσφράγισμα ὁμοιώσεως καὶ στέφανος κάλλους	12 υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, λαβὲ θρῆνον ἐπὶ τὸν ἄρχοντα Τύρου καὶ εἰπὸν αὐτῷ· τάδε λέγει Κύριος Κύριος· σὺ ἀποσφράγισμα ὁμοιώσεως καὶ στέφανος κάλλους

13 You have been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was your covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of your tabrets and of your pipes was prepared in you in the day that you were created.

13 You were in the delight of the paradise of God; you have bound on you every precious stone, the sardius, and topaz, and emerald, and carbuncle, and sapphire, and jasper, and silver, and gold, and ligure, and agate, and amethyst, and chrysolite, and beryl, and onyx; and you have filled your treasures and your stores in you with gold.	13 You were in the delight of the paradise of God; you have bound on you every precious stone, the sardius, and topaz, and emerald, and carbuncle, and sapphire, and jasper, and silver, and gold, and ligure, and agate, and amethyst, and chrysolite, and beryl, and onyx; and you have filled your treasures and your stores in you with gold.

14 You are the anointed cherub that covers; and I have set you so: you were on the holy mountain of God; you have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.

15 You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, till iniquity was found in you.

15 ἐγενήθης ἄμωμος σὺ ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις σου ἀφ’ ἧς ἡμέρας σὺ ἐκτίσθης ἕως εὑρέθη τὰ ἀδικήματα ἐν σοί.	15 ἐγενήθης σὺ ἄμωμος ἐν ταῖς ἡμέραις σου, ἀφ’ ἧς ἡμέρας σὺ ἐκτίσθης ἕως εὑρέθη τὰ ἀδικήματα ἐν σοί.

16 By the multitude of your merchandise they have filled the midst of you with violence, and you have sinned; therefore I will cast you as profane out of the mountain of God; and I will destroy you, Oh covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire.

16 ἀπὸ πλήθους τῆς ἐμπορίας σου ἔπλησας τὰ ταμίειά σου ἀνομίας καὶ ἥμαρτες καὶ ἐτραυματίσθης ἀπὸ ὄρους τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ ἤγαγέν σὲ τὸ χερούβ ἐκ μέσου λίθων πυρίνων.	16 ἀπὸ πλήθους τῆς ἐμπορίας σου ἔπλησας τὰ ταμεῖά σου ἀνομίας καὶ ἥμαρτες καὶ ἐτραυματίσθης ἀπὸ ὄρους τοῦ Θεοῦ, καὶ ἤγαγέ σε τὸ Χεροὺβ ἐκ μέσου λίθων πυρίνων.

17 Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty, you have corrupted your wisdom by reason of your brightness: I will cast you to the ground, I will lay you before kings, that they may behold you.

18 You have defiled your sanctuaries by the multitude of your iniquities, by the iniquity of your trade; therefore will I bring forth a fire from the midst of you, it shall devour you, and I will bring you to ashes on the earth in the sight of all those who behold you.

18 διὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν σου καὶ τῶν ἀδικιῶν τῆς ἐμπορίας σου ἐβεβήλωσας τὰ ἱερά σου· καὶ ἐξάξω πῦρ ἐκ μέσου σου, τοῦτο καταφάγεταί σε· καὶ δώσω σὲ εἰς σποδὸν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς σου ἐναντίον πάντων τῶν ὁρώντων σε.	18 διὰ τὸ πλῆθος τῶν ἁμαρτιῶν σου καὶ τῶν ἀδικιῶν τῆς ἐμπορίας σου ἐβεβήλωσα τά ἱερά σου, καὶ ἐξάξω πῦρ ἐκ μέσου σου, τοῦτο καταφάγεταί σε· καὶ δώσω σε εἰς σποδὸν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς σου ἐναντίον πάντων τῶν ὁρώντων σε.

19 All they who know you among the people shall be astonished at you: you shall be a terror, and never you shall be any more.

19 καὶ πάντες οἱ ἐπιστάμενοί σὲ ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσιν στυγνάσουσιν ἐπὶ σέ· ἀπώλεια ἐγένου καὶ οὐχ ὑπάρξεις ἔτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.	19 καὶ πάντες οἱ ἐπιστάμενοί σε ἐν τοῖς ἔθνεσι στυγνάσουσιν ἐπὶ σέ· ἀπώλεια ἐγένου καὶ οὐχ ὑπάρξεις ἔτι εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα.

20 Again the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

21 Son of man, set your face against Zidon, and prophesy against it,

21 υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, στήρισον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπὶ Σιδῶνα καὶ προφήτευσον ἐπ’ αὐτὴν	21 υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου, στήρισον τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἐπὶ Σιδῶνα καὶ προφήτευσον ἐπ’ αὐτὴν

22 And say, Thus says Adonai Yahweh; Behold, I am against you, Oh Zidon; and I will be glorified in the midst of you; and they shall know that I am Yahweh, when I shall have executed judgments in her, and shall be consecrated in her.

22 καὶ εἰπόν τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπὶ σέ, Σιδών, καὶ ἐνδοξασθήσομαι ἐν σοί, καὶ γνώσῃ ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος ἐν τῷ ποιῆσαί με ἐν σοί κρίματα, καὶ ἁγιασθήσομαι ἐν σοί.	22 καὶ εἰπόν· τάδε λέγει Κύριος· ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐπὶ σέ, Σιδών, καὶ ἐνδοξασθήσομαι ἐν σοί, καὶ γνώσῃ ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος ἐν τῷ ποιῆσαί με ἐν σοί κρίματα, καὶ ἁγιασθήσομαι ἐν σοί.

23 For I will send into her pestilence, and blood into her streets; and the wounded shall be judged in the midst of her by the sword on her on every side; and they shall know that I am Yahweh.

24 And there shall be no more a pricking brier to the house of Israēl, nor any grieving thorn of all that are all around them, that despised them; and they shall know that I am Adonai Yahweh.

24 καὶ οὐκ ἔσονται οὐκέτι τῷ οἴκῳ τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ σκόλοψ πικρίας καὶ ἄκανθα ὀδύνης ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν περικύκλῳ αὐτῶν τῶν ἀτιμασάντων αὐτούς· καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι κύριος.	24 Καὶ οὐκ ἔσονται οὐκέτι ἐν τῷ οἴκῳ τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ σκόλοψ πικρίας καὶ ἄκανθα ὀδύνης ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν περικύκλῳ αὐτῶν τῶν ἀτιμασάντων αὐτούς· καὶ γνώσονται ὅτι ἐγώ εἰμι Κύριος.

25 Thus says Adonai Yahweh; When I shall have gathered the house of Israēl from the people among whom they are scattered, and shall be consecrated in them in the sight of the heathen, then they shall dwell in their land that I have given to my servant Jacōb.

26 And they shall dwell safely in it, and shall build houses, and plant vineyards; yes, they shall dwell with confidence, when I have executed judgments on all those who despise them all around them; and they shall know that I am Yahweh their God.
