Parable of the Lost Sheep
(Matt 18:12-14)

I tell you that in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who don’t need repentance. Parable of the Lost Coin

15:8  τίς γυνὴ δραχμὰς ἔχουσα δέκα ἐὰν ἀπολέσῃ δραχμὴν μίαν, οὐχὶ ἅπτει λύχνον καὶ σαροῖ τὴν οἰκίαν καὶ ζητεῖ ἐπιμελῶς ἕως οὗ εὕρῃ; 8  τίς γυνὴ δραχμὰς ἔχουσα δέκα, ἐὰν ἀπολέσῃ δραχμὴν μίαν, οὐχὶ ἅπτει λύχνον, καὶ σαροῖ τὴν οἰκίαν, καὶ ζητεῖ ἐπιμελῶς, ἕως ὅτου εὕρῃ;

15:21 εἶπεν δὲ υἱὸς αὐτῷ, πάτερ ἥμαρτον εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἐνώπιόν σου, οὐκέτι εἰμὶ ἄξιος κληθῆναι υἱός σου [ποίησόν με ὡς ἕνα τῶν μισθίων σου]. 21 εἶπε δὲ αὐτῷ υἱός, πάτερ, ἥμαρτον εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ ἐνώπιόν σου, καὶ οὐκέτι εἰμὶ ἄξιος κληθῆναι υἱός σου.

15:23 καὶ φέρετε τὸν μόσχον τὸν σιτευτόν, θύσατε, καὶ φαγόντες εὐφρανθῶμεν, 23 καὶ ἐνέγκαντες τὸν μόσχον τὸν σιτευτὸν, θύσατε, καὶ φαγόντες εὐφρανθῶμεν·

15:24 ὅτι οὗτος υἱός μου νεκρός ἦν καὶ ἀνέζησεν, ἦν ἀπολωλὼς καὶ εὑρέθη.

15:28 ὠργίσθη δὲ καὶ οὐκ ἤθελεν εἰσελθεῖν, δὲ πατὴρ αὐτοῦ ἐξελθὼν παρεκάλει αὐτόν. 28 ὠργίσθη δέ, καὶ οὐκ ἤθελεν εἰσελθεῖν.

15:29  δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν τῷ πατρὶ αὐτοῦ, ἰδοὺ τοσαῦτα ἔτη δουλεύω σοι καὶ οὐδέποτε ἐντολήν σου παρῆλθον, καὶ ἐμοὶ οὐδέποτε ἔδωκας ἔριφον ἵνα μετὰ τῶν φίλων μου εὐφρανθῶ· 29  δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπε τῷ πατρί, ἰδού, τοσαῦτα ἔτη δουλεύω σοι, καὶ οὐδέποτε ἐντολήν σου παρῆλθον, καὶ ἐμοὶ οὐδέποτε ἔδωκας ἔριφον, ἵνα μετὰ τῶν φίλων μου εὐφρανθῶ.

15:32 εὐφρανθῆναι δὲ καὶ χαρῆναι ἔδει, ὅτι ἀδελφός σου οὗτος νεκρὸς ἦν καὶ ἔζησεν, καὶ ἀπολωλὼς καὶ εὑρέθη. 32 εὐφρανθῆναι δὲ καὶ χαρῆναι ἔδει, ὅτι ἀδελφός σου οὗτος νεκρὸς ἦν, καὶ ἀνέζησε· καὶ ἀπολωλὼς ἦν, καὶ εὑρέθη.
But it was necessary to celebrate and rejoice, for this brother of yours was dead and lives, and was lost and has been found.’” It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this your brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
