Genesis

1 And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said to them, “Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the earth.

1 καὶ ηὐλόγησεν ὁ θεὸς τὸν Νῶε καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπεν αὐτοῖς, αὐξάνεσθε καὶ πληθύνεσθε καὶ πληρώσατε τὴν γῆν καὶ κατακυριεύσατε αὐτῆς.	1 Καὶ εὐλόγησεν ὁ Θεὸς τὸν Νῶε καὶ τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτοῦ καὶ εἶπε αὐτοῖς· αὐξάνεσθε καὶ πληθύνεσθε καὶ πληρώσατε τὴν γῆν καὶ κατακυριεύσατε αὐτῆς.

2 And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, and on every fowl of the air, on all that moves on the earth, and on all the fish of the sea; into your hand are they delivered.

2 καὶ ὁ τρόμος ὑμῶν καὶ ὁ φόβος ἔσται ἐπὶ πᾶσιν τοῖς θηρίοις τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ ὄρνεα τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ κινούμενα ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς ἰχθύας τῆς θαλάσσης· ὑπὸ χεῖρας ὑμῖν δέδωκα.	2 καὶ ὁ τρόμος καὶ ὁ φόβος ὑμῶν ἔσται ἐπὶ πᾶσι τοῖς θηρίοις τῆς γῆς, ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ πετεινὰ τοῦ οὐρανοῦ καὶ ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ κινούμενα ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς ἰχθύας τῆς θαλάσσης· ὑπὸ χεῖρας ὑμῖν δέδωκα.
2 And the dread and the fear of you will be on all the wild beasts of the land, on all the birds of the sky, and on all things moving on the land, and on all the fish of the sea. 3 Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

4 But flesh with the life of it, which is the blood of it, you shall not eat.

5 καὶ γὰρ τὸ ὑμέτερον αἷμα τῶν ψυχῶν ὑμῶν ἐκζητήσω, ἐκ χειρὸς πάντων τῶν θηρίων ἐκζητήσω αὐτὸ καὶ ἐκ χειρὸς ἀνθρώπου ἀδελφοῦ ἐκζητήσω τὴν ψυχὴν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου.	5 καὶ γὰρ τὸ ὑμέτερον αἷμα τῶν ψυχῶν ὑμῶν ἐκ χειρὸς πάντων τῶν θηρίων ἐκζητήσω αὐτὸ καὶ ἐκ χειρὸς ἀνθρώπου ἀδελφοῦ ἐκζητήσω τὴν ψυχὴν τοῦ ἀνθρώπου.
5 For I will search for your blood of your lives; I will search for it from the hand of all the wild beasts; and I will search for the blood of the life of a man from the hand of a brother man	5 For I will search for your blood of your lives from the hand of all the wild beasts; and I will search for the blood of a man from the hand of a brother man

6 Whoso sheds man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God made he man.

7 And you, be fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.”

8 And God spoke to Noah, and to his sons with him, saying,

9 “And I, behold, I establish my covenant with you, and with your seed after you;

9 ἐγὼ ἰδοὺ ἀνίστημι τὴν διαθήκην μου ὑμῖν καὶ τῷ σπέρματι ὑμῶν μεθ’ ὑμᾶς	9 καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἀνίστημι τὴν διαθήκην μου ὑμῖν καὶ τῷ σπέρματι ὑμῶν μεθ’ ὑμᾶς
9 Look! I establish my covenant with you, and with your offspring after you,	9 And look! I establish my covenant with you, and with your offspring after you,

10 And with every living creature that is with you, of the fowl, of the cattle, and of every beast of the earth with you; from all that go out of the ark, to every beast of the earth.

10 καὶ πάσῃ ψυχῇ τῇ ζώσῃ μεθ’ ὑμῶν ἀπὸ ὀρνέων καὶ ἀπὸ κτηνῶν καὶ πᾶσι τοῖς θηρίοις τῆς γῆς, ὅσα μεθ’ ὑμῶν, ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἐξελθόντων ἐκ τῆς κιβωτοῦ.	10 καὶ πάσῃ ψυχῇ ζώσῃ μεθ’ ὑμῶν, ἀπὸ ὀρνέων καὶ ἀπὸ κτηνῶν, καὶ πᾶσι τοῖς θηρίοις τῆς γῆς, ὅσα ἐστὶ μεθ’ ὑμῶν ἀπὸ πάντων τῶν ἐξελθόντων ἐκ τῆς κιβωτοῦ.

11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.”

11 καὶ στήσω τὴν διαθήκην μου πρὸς ὑμᾶς, καὶ οὐκ ἀποθανεῖται πᾶσα σὰρξ ἔτι ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕδατος τοῦ κατακλυσμοῦ, καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ἔτι κατακλυσμὸς ὕδατος τοῦ καταφθεῖραι πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν.	11 καὶ στήσω τὴν διαθήκην μου πρὸς ὑμᾶς, καὶ οὐκ ἀποθανεῖται πᾶσα σὰρξ ἔτι ἀπὸ τοῦ ὕδατος τοῦ κατακλυσμοῦ, καὶ οὐκ ἔτι ἔσται κατακλυσμὸς ὕδατος τοῦ καταφθεῖραι πᾶσαν τὴν γῆν.

12 And God said, “This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations.

12 καὶ εἶπεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς πρὸς Νῶε, τοῦτο τὸ σημεῖον τῆς διαθήκης, ὃ ἐγὼ δίδωμι ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ ὑμῶν καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον πάσης ψυχῆς ζώσης, ἥ ἐστιν μεθ’ ὑμῶν εἰς γενεὰς αἰωνίους·	12 καὶ εἶπε Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς πρὸς Νῶε· τοῦτο τὸ σημεῖον τῆς διαθήκης, ὃν ἐγὼ δίδωμι ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ ὑμῶν καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον πάσης ψυχῆς ζώσης, ἥ ἔστι μεθ’ ὑμῶν εἰς γενεὰς αἰωνίους·
12 And the Lord God said to Nōe, “This is the sign of the covenant which I give between me and you, and between every living soul which is with you for eternal generations.	12 And the Lord God said to Nōe, “This is the sign of the covenant which I give between me and you, and between every living soul which is with you for eternal generations.

13 I set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.

14 And it will happen, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud.

15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

15 καὶ μνησθήσομαι τῆς διαθήκης μου, ἥ ἐστιν ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ ὑμῶν καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον πάσης ψυχῆς ζώσης ἐν πάσῃ σαρκί, καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ἔτι τὸ ὕδωρ εἰς κατακλυσμὸν ὥστε ἐξαλεῖψαι πᾶσαν σάρκα.	15 καὶ μνησθήσομαι τῆς διαθήκης μου, ἥ ἐστιν ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ ὑμῶν, καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον πάσης ψυχῆς ζώσης ἐν πάσῃ σαρκί, καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ἔτι τὸ ὕδωρ εἰς κατακλυσμόν, ὥστε ἐξαλεῖψαι πᾶσαν σάρκα.
15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you, and between every living soul in all flesh, and there shall no longer be water for a flood, so as to wipe out all flesh.	15 And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you, and between every living soul in all flesh, and there shall no longer be water for a flood, so as to wipe out all flesh.

16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look on it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”

16 καὶ ἔσται τὸ τόξον μου ἐν τῇ νεφέλῃ, καὶ ὄψομαι τοῦ μνησθῆναι διαθήκην αἰώνιον ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον πάσης ψυχῆς ζώσης ἐν πάσῃ σαρκί, ἥ ἐστιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς.	16 καὶ ἔσται τὸ τόξον μου ἐν τῇ νεφέλῃ, καὶ ὄψομαι τοῦ μνησθῆναι διαθήκην αἰώνιον ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμοῦ καὶ τῆς γῆς καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον ψυχῆς ζώσης ἐν πᾶσι σαρκί, ἥ ἐστιν ἐπὶ τῆς γῆς.
16 And my bow will be in the cloud, and I will look to remember the everlasting covenant between me and every living soul in all flesh, which is on the land.”	16 And my bow will be in the cloud, and I will look to remember the everlasting covenant between me and the land and between every living soul in all flesh, which is on the land.”

17 And God said to Noah, “This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is on the earth.”

17 And God said to Nōe, “This is the sign of the covenant, which I have made between me and all flesh, which is on the land.”	17 And God said to Nōe, “This is the sign of the covenant, which I have made between me and all flesh, which is on the land.”

18 And the sons of Noah, that went forth of the ark, were Shem, and Ham, and Japheth; and Ham is the father of Canaan.

19 These are the three sons of Noah; and of them was the whole earth overspread.

20 And Noah began to be a farmer, and he planted a vineyard.

21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunk; and he was uncovered within his tent.

22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brothers outside.

22 καὶ εἶδεν Χὰμ ὁ πατὴρ Χαναὰν τὴν γύμνωσιν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἀνήγγειλεν τοῖς δυσὶν ἀδελφοῖς αὐτοῦ ἔξω.	22 καὶ εἶδε Χὰμ ὁ πατὴρ Χαναὰν τὴν γύμνωσιν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτοῦ καὶ ἐξελθὼν ἀνήγγειλε τοῖς δυσὶν ἀδελφοῖς αὐτοῦ ἔξω.

23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it on both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness.

23 καὶ λαβόντες Σὴμ καὶ Ἰάφεθ τὸ ἱμάτιον ἐπέθεντο ἐπὶ τὰ δύο νῶτα αὐτῶν, καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ὀπισθοφανῶς, καὶ συνεκάλυψαν τὴν γύμνωσιν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν καὶ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτῶν ὀπισθοφανές καὶ τὴν γύμνωσιν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν οὐκ εἶδον.	23 καὶ λαβόντες Σὴμ καὶ Ἰάφεθ τὸ ἱμάτιον ἐπέθεντο ἐπὶ τὰ δύο νῶτα αὐτῶν καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ὀπισθοφανῶς καὶ συνεκάλυψαν τὴν γύμνωσιν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν, καὶ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτῶν ὀπισθοφανῶς, καὶ τὴν γύμνωσιν τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν οὐκ εἶδον.

24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done to him.

25 And he said, “Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants he shall be to his brothers.”

25 καὶ εἶπεν, ἐπικατάρατος Χαναάν· παῖς οἰκέτης ἔσται τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς αὐτοῦ.	25 καὶ εἶπε· ἐπικατάρατος Χαναάν· παῖς οἰκέτης ἔσται τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς αὐτοῦ.
25 And he said, “Cursed is Chanaan, a servant, he will be a domestic to his brothers.”	25 And he said, “Cursed is Chanaan, a servant, he will be a domestic to his brothers.”

26 And he said, “Blessed be Yahweh Elohim of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.

26 καὶ εἶπεν, εὐλογητὸς κύριος ὁ θεὸς τοῦ Σήμ, καὶ ἔσται Χαναὰν παῖς αὐτοῦ	26 καὶ εἶπε· εὐλογητὸς Κύριος ὁ Θεὸς τοῦ Σήμ, καὶ ἔσται Χαναὰν παῖς οἰκέτης αὐτοῦ.
26 And he said, “Blessed is the Lord God of Sēm, and Chanaan shall be his servant.	26 And he said, “Blessed is the Lord God of Sēm, and Chanaan shall be his household servant.

27 God shall enlarge Japheth, and he shall dwell in the tents of Shem; and Canaan shall be his servant.”

28 And Noah lived after the flood 350 years.

29 And all the days of Noah were 950 years; and he died.
